Deep Purple has made great albums over the years it's pretty hard to choose favorites, but my top favorites are: 1. Shades of Deep Purple 2. The Book of Taliesyn 3. Deep Purple in Rock 4. Machine Head 5. Fireball 6. Who Do We Think We Are 7. Burn 8. Stormbringer 9. Come Taste the Band 10. Perfect Strangers
@@thatclassicrockguy9268 Yes, I'm a Coverdale fan but In Rock is the perfect album and started it all. It may sound strange, but I prefer side B of it. I'm from east Germany and in the 70ies it was difficult to get some albums. I found a cassette of In Rock, but some stupid had erased side A and recorded a punk band over it (Buzzcocks). it took me two years (with constant listening to side B) to find someone with the vinyl to make a complete copy ;-)
Count me amongst those who put _Slaves and Masters_ in their top 10 Deep Purple albums. LOL! I just love that album. It was such a departure from their usual sound, and yet it wasn't. I think JLT has a fantastic voice, and I could appreciate that they were experimenting with the musical style of the day. The 80s were my formative years, so I guess that album just fit right in. Plus, I didnt have any friends that listened to DP, so I didn't know it was a generally disliked album until I had grown up. I'm glad I didn't know so that I was never subjected to biased opinions. Know what I mean? I would also put _Whoosh!_ in my top 10, almost entirely because of how much I love the song _Throw My Bones._ 💜🦴💜🦴 So, some people don't like _Space Truckin?_ I was unaware. I 💜 that song so much. Oh, and _Burn_ is my favorite DP song.
I think slaves and masters should almost be listened to as a different band as it really is a great little album. Love conquers all and fire in the basement are awesome! I think with JLT it sounded too much like rainbow for the purple fans so it didn’t land. The most frustrating album for me is the Battle Rages On because it has some 10/10 songs and then some 6/10 filler.
@@thatclassicrockguy9268 I agree. _The Battle Rages On_ is such an amazing track, but the album in general is a little lackluster for me. Hey, what are your thoughts on _Whoosh!_ ?
More power to you. For me Slaves and Masters is my least favorite Deep Purple album. I like Joe Lynn Turner as a singer, but the problem here is that it sounds like a Rainbow Album. Even if it were to have the Rainbow name on it, it wouldn’t be more of the better Rainbow records
Potrei dire Flight of the Rat o Bloodsucker....
"In Rock". A PIONEER album, new sounds for that era, effects, solos, riffs, etc. etc. from top musicians. Huge influential for the following years.
Great video mate, the boy bleeds purple x
I am partial buddy 😂 x

Ten is tough. Many strong albums in them purple hills.
Good choices regardless. 👍
Ian Gillan said there would be no machine Head without fireball..and not responsible is the best song on perfect strangers..for me.
Not responsible is a great track 👍

Great track! Although after Burn and Mistreated I would say Lay Down Stay Downs………..Paice on that track is unstoppable 🤘
