    This was fantastic. It’s so rare to find someone just building with simple, affordable tools and real skill here. Great work!

    I like the taper on the sides. For me it's those subtle details that really make a piece pop.

    Great work! Haters can hate, a drill is handheld therefore it's a hand tool. lol

      I thought drills were exempt anyway...oops.

    😳 I’m not sure what is more amazing: the finished piece(!), the fact you used only hand tools, your craftsmanship, or your patience. Wow… What a beautiful piece! Also, a terrific video. Very relaxing and satisfying. 😌 Well done, sir! 👍🏼

      Thanks! The video took forever. It's 572 clips of the most satisfying parts that also told the story of making it. All shot on my old phone from 2018.

    OUTSTANDING!! I am very impressed with this entire project sir. From the beautiful wood choices to the hand tool work and joints. Even the little shelf supports really were well thought out and completely match the esthetic of that beautiful piece of furniture.

    Absolutely beautiful traditional joinery. I love Bocote but, rarely find it at my suppliers.

      Thanks. Same here. It took me a while to find enough bocote.

    It seems sooooo simple when it's on the video, but there is a massive amount of work in that piece. Especially when using predominantly hand tools. What finish were you using when wearing the mask?

    I've been wanting to work with some bocote. You beat me to it. How's the workability?

    • @GabrielCoss
      @GabrielCoss  Месяц назад

      Not as bad as you might think. It has a high resin content which acts like a lubricant. Your tools need to be sharp though.

    Nice work!! Can you tell me, how long did it take you to finish this work counting out the time of filmong and additing. Just the Woodworking. Thank you🎉

      I worked on it a little bit at a time over several months and saw all the pieces like a series of mini projects. My best total estimate is 85hr.

    Why did you turn the scribe blade around on your rebate plane? 3:16

    • @GabrielCoss
      @GabrielCoss  Месяц назад

      I had finished the cross grain rebates and was about to start the long grain rebates. I didn't need the scribe/spur for that. I showed the switch because I think it's a cool feature of rebate planes.
