As a NASCAR fan, I've never been so offended by something I totally agree with (nice touch including a picture of Phoenix, which not only was ruined by NASCAR [it was way better under the original configuration], but is a terrible track to host the season finale, especially under the current championship format used in NASCAR). The same thing can be said about American football.
Penalties in soccer (yes, I'm a Yank) are nowhere near the level of must-see TV as 3-on-3 NHL overtime, or NHL shootouts- and I'd argue that Grand Prix starts are less must-see TV than NHL overtime and shootouts (am I biased, as a lifelong Seattle Kraken fan- possibly).
Great point at the end! My interest for football was also completely dead when I saw a meme simply juxtaposing a photo of Grosjean leaping out of the flames with a picture of Neymar below holding his knee during his usual play acting. Footballers are a joke.

So what about NASCAR, IndyCar, Moto GP, Formula e, IMSA, WEC, Rally, and NHRA?
This is my guess: NASCAR is out because of ovals, as is IndyCar (despite only a quarter of the season being ovals). MotoGP is out because they have 2 wheels compared to 4. Rally is out because it's point to point. IMSA and WEC are out because the races are too long. Formula E is out because (a) the cars are electric, (b) the engines sound like vacuum cleaners, (c) the entire season is on street circuits, and they wouldn't dare run on a purpose-built circuit (despite them having run on at least one purpose-built circuit [albeit on a modified layout] per season, outside of 2014-15), and (d) gimmicks (FanBoost, Attack Mode, etc.). NHRA is out because it's just a quarter-mile in a straight line. Now, this is just my guess, and I don't even agree with everything (for instance, I believe that motorsports fans should embrace Formula E, trying to push advancements forward in vehicle technology, because that's what motorsports have been doing for ages).

The sporting regulations may only by 112 pages, but the technical ones are 179, making it 291 pages altogether, which 61 more pages than football I'm afraid :/
