Hey everyone! This video showcases the best 00:41 & good / acceptable 10:58 sounding cars in FH4. Most of them where included regarding you guys feedbacks, I went through a lot of comments on old videos to get this done, but it was worth it! FH4 sure DOES have bad sounds, but there are a lot of GOOD sounding ones too! Enjoy this british ASMR
Toyota 2JZ ain't sound bad in FH4 though
Funny how it took you this long to praise fh4 sounds, the problem was the copying between cars (the Viper V10 is insanely accurate to 1st and 2nd gen vipers, but not accurate for 3rd and 4th gen)
@@ttr_coco FH3 got the best Gen 3 Viper car sound
Fact: the FH4 Viper Sound is actually *Correct* for the 1st and 2nd Generation 8 Liter Cars!
its just that they also re-used it for the 8.3 Liter 3rd and 4th Gen as well, when it Is completely incorrect...
A lot of these were actually re-used in FH5.
The method that these were recorded, granular synthesis, works this way. Instead of recording a looped audio file at a fixed RPM for given rev ranges (the method used from FM2005 to FM2023), a granular synthesis car sound is produced using an RPM sweep (think of a dyno pull, but on a road and not on a dyno.) and then given to software to split each individual revolution of the engine into "grains". Those "grains" are then selected to play at a given RPM. Black Box, creators of some of the most critically acclaimed NFS games, was one of the first to pioneer this method of engine sound recording/production, appearing as early as NFS: Underground 2.
Recognizing the potential of the method of recording, Playground Games implemented it into select cars in FH3, namely the V8 Mercedes models, the Audi R8 V10 Plus, the Lamborghini Aventador, and the Ford Fiesta XR2. Those are not the only cars to use GS sounds, but only a few examples. In FH4, this was expanded to include more cars, such as the E36 M3 and the Dodge Viper, with mixed results.
However, the methods used to record engine sounds were successful enough to the point where Playground Games decided to implement it in _every car_ in Forza Horizon 5. That's one of the reasons why the engine sounds in FH5 are so damn good.
I'd say the chase sounds in FH5 are mixed. Some great(mostly the lower pitched cars and a select few V12/V10s) and some weedy and tinny.
The area where FH5's sounds really are great - better than any competitor out there - is cockpit sounds.
most FH5 sounds are around as bad as FH4 sounds, because most of what you can hear is the wind, and if not that then their tone I can only describe as "nasal"
only a handful of cars offer an actual sound, I can list the F82 M4 (sound reused on B/S58 powered BMWs with race exhaust) and the LFA
surprisingly, this doesn't apply to interior sounds, because these are mostly decent and incorrect at worst (E36 M3)
You dont hear wind, actually. You're hearing simply the mids and highs. Had it been wind, the sound wouldn't be as open as it is even if we exclude their RT audio system, which started with FH5.
It's moreso a lack of low-end or mid-bass and bass due to how they filtered audio and/or the type of micriphones they used. FH4 has much better low end, than FH5 which helps contribute to the overall sound but it lacks the Soundstage FH5 does.
@audi-71830
@@recon1673 so they just sound like shit, thank you
@@recon1673 If it's not wind because they've dealt with that, then it's some kind of lower quality in the recording due to _having to deal with the wind in the first place._ I'm certain that the chase sounds would be better if they recorded them on a dyno. I just don't understand the rationale for doing it out in the open - they spoke about wanting to get the 'deceleration noises'. I don't know what that even means, or why you can only get them out in the open on a road.
i hope 6 can provide us with the same / better vibes and atmossphere
Word!
You mean FH6 in Japan right ? .. RIGHT ..? :D
@@jacknapier5.7 idc really where, but the map has to have variety and the seasons should be destinguishable like in fh4
FH4 always had good sounds, but too many people were just regurgitating whatever they hear online and think that *none* of the cars sounded good.
It was the worst Forza for car sounds, stop acting delusional.
7:34
"How would you describe the Zenvo TSR-S sound?"
*U*
😂😂
it's just a Skill Issue lol
I'm surprised by the amount of cars that actually sound good in Forza Horizon 4. Honestly, if this game had the car sounds and the option to rev your car in the garage like FH5, I would just play this instead of playing Forza Horizon 5. The atmosphere and overall vibes of this game are awesome. I really hope that Forza Horizon 6 has a similar vibe to the older Forza Horizons, specially 1 and 3.
I share the same about the upcoming forza horizon, i also love fh4, one detail that i absolutely cherish is reving the car on the main city, man the echoes!
@@DriversAlley Forza devs kept bragging about their ray traced audio and stuff but what's the point of having something like that if you don't have a city or something similar where you can actually experience it?
The vibe is in your head. It's got a certain vibe only because that period in your life had a certain vibe; it's because you're looking back on it instead of still playing it. The actual vibe of the games hasn't changed much over the series' run, it's a kind of trick of nostalgia.
@@thesprawl2361 nah bro, fh5 is like driving in a wasteland lol
@@thesprawl2361 Sorry to break it to you but I still regularly play Forza Horizon 1 to 5 (except 2 because I don't have a Xbox anymore) and I can guarantee you that older Forza Horizons have a better vibe than 5. When I play Forza Horizon 4 and 5, it's a totally different experience because Horizon 4 feels more alive while Horizon 5 really feels like driving in a wasteland. I can guarantee that it isn't a trick of nostalgia.
I still love this game more than FH5, it's just the vibe I get and everything. Btw, the '93 Cobra R does share its file with the Ford Hula Girl or at least a similar file!
Same man, been playing it here & then. And thanks for the sound file note!
I liked this game but im not gonna let nostalgia blind me, because a lot of people are saying this is more polished and better than FH5 and that's not true. The only things this has over FH5 is a better map (because the Eliminator was an afterthought and not the main driving force for the map) and having ranked online adventure
Besides the obvious flaws of the game, its incredibly way more polished than FH5 will ever be.
😢😢
period.
Agreed 100%
What are you talking about? Online races barely working in fh4 with these infinite loading screens, matchmaking doesn't work and also you cant win in multiplayer if ur car is not awd and u didnt have ramming protection at the start of fh4
Yes it is. but ... the bad sounds ruined Horizon 4 COMPLETELY for me
The DLS 911 with a supercharger sounds nuts in this game
That E36 sounded amazing! 😍
It does!
Most of these Insane Sounding Cars’s reving are on point which makes it more realistic than you think
Fun fact: PC users, and most likely those on Steam, can easily modify the sounds, some work better without the Granular Synth associated to them, and some sounds will either mix well, or sometimes give you something unexpected.
Cars from FM7 and before have these sounds sets along with Granular Synth, all stored withint a .mxl file. While the ones that got added very late to the game seem no not rely on them at all, like the Agera RS, those can be used aswell, it can take some time to get used to, but i tried some mixing myself, and it's not bad.
However yeah, apart these cool ones shown in the video, some cars indeed could have deserved a way better treatement.
i never noticed this but the Carrera GT sounds a bit like the Audi R8 in Horizon 2👀
It sounds similar, but the sound note ad mid RPM‘s is way more raw in FH2, that’s why FH2 is the GOAT 😂👍🏾
1946 Ford Wagon 2015 Corvette Z06 and Gurkha (I hated the first one after missing a PC and BeamNG after Christmas until finally mid-2021), but looking back to it, IT KINDA GREW ON ME NOW!! Plus, if you lower pitch it in an audio editor, it sounds more like a pure 70s-80s truck! Or even the UPS step vans lol.
these sounds lacks low ends, but my favs are r8, r35, r33, 930, 997, c6, ascari, 488gtb and some old v8s
my favorite best sounding car in FH4 is the Ascari KZ1R WITH TWIN TURBOS....
Its incredible
based af. but the street turbos not race iykyk.
@@yhellohhmm gotta test it
i think the 2005 ford gt sound file is shared with the CCX because I was driving it around yesterday and thought it sounded quite similar
I hope FH6 will not be built from the ground. I mean, just build from the F’ing FH4 up!
I really like it when you make these types of videos. ❤
Glad you like them!
The Singer DLS in FH4 is one fe the best sound car ever!
So aggressive ⚔️
2:37 Audi RS6 09
has the same sound as Lamborghini Huracan on FH2
Sheesh very close
16:42 pair this engine swap with the gt40. don't change or upgrade the gear ratios or upgrade the clutch. most fun car in the game.
14:33 thats what the ls swap sounds like in fm7
Cars like the Escalade, Chevy SS, Pontiac G8, etc etc all sound the same stock in FM7 actually
god damn those bad boys sound good
They do!
22:04 that's not DSG fart. Just normal Mercedes Speedshift sound (every modern Mercedes should have this sound, even the w204 c250).
Also, the sound file is shared with Mini Country Man, A110 and Focus RS.
Thanks for the clarification! 👍🏾
The Crown Vic is the best sounding and coolest car not only in the game but real life too
I actually love the Viper sound lol
But i can understand why yall hate it
😂😂😂
I need me that Escalade in fh5 fr fr! But I also just enjoy hearing its engine note in fh4, definitely one of the best sounding SUVs 14:32
Couldn't agree more!
its the Chevy V8 source in FM7!!
They should u this one in FH4 as well
I play FH4 for a couple sounds, The R8(s), Charger or Challenger Hellcat, E60 M5, Zenvo TSR-S (my first backstage car), and so many more. I also like the graphics more than FH5.
As I can’t play online in fh5 anymore, fh4‘s online adventures are still running full
@@fastlanegaming Why cant you play online?
@@LuisRivas-yb1gqpor usar coches antes de el release 😂
LFA ! 😍
Yesssss 🌋
23:22 In all honesty, the Napier has to be the BEST sounding car in this game. Shame it’s one of the rarest cars in the game now.
They all sound funny after playing FH5 so long, there's no depth to the sounds
I'd include the Lancia 037 there as well, great sound.
Bro🙏 u need to make similar video with fh3.
Already in the works 🌋⚔️
@@fastlanegaming great news ! Have a good day mate @fastlanegaming
do you think you could make a video about fh4 and 5 video and graphic settings your game looks very detailed and no matter how much i mess with settings i can't make the my game look as good anyway great video as usual top notch👌
I play on the series x using the atomos ninja v as a capture card, wich is the best out there, and don’t forget that it looks way more crisp on a phone screen
@@fastlanegaming interesting i was almost 100% sure you are on pc
The Pagani Zonda R is just a higher pitched Mclaren F1
the colorado sounds really good too because of the intake sound
The dodge viper hears like my fart
It's obviously based on opinion. But my favourite is the Eagle Speedster. I'm surprised it's not on here but I guess it's just a tuned E-type sound
The goliurius lfa v10
almost all of these sounds, except for the ones that were clearly meant to be reused for FH5, are way too digital
the LFA has by far the best quality here and it doesn't sound artificially pitched in the higher revs
i think the Agera rs is using a modified GT350r sound file lmao
🔥🔥
FH2 had the best sounding cars in my opinion!
The GOAT 🌋
not an opinion just a fact. also had car meets to start each login session, which will forever be the coolest way to start in horizon.
@@yhellohyeah man, this feature was so ahead of its time
Horizon 1 will always be the goat
I really didnt like 2 very much
And Horizon 1
I have found that many V8s sound better while using either interior camera and while using the hood/bumper camera.
Gotta test that
NiC3
Please, video for the V8 Cars in forza horizon 5
Best sounding in FH4 (my opinion)
Ferrari La Ferrari (but it shared to other modern ferrari except 458)
Bugatti Chiron & Divo (sounds good but it zero bass and lower volume)
Mclaren F1 (No need desc, it sounds so accurate 😌)
Nissan GT-R R35 (So accurate, why some people complain about sound of this car 😑)
Porsche 911 DLS Singer (Amazingg sound)
Lambo Huracan (much accurate with real life)
Audi R8 V10 Plus (same as Huracan, much accurate)
Lexus LFA (Pretty good but not same as goat MW12 sound)
I was disappointed by how utterly they massacred the Formula Drift Ferrari in FH5. I remember it sounding great in FH4, but maybe that's just my imagination.
13:17 Actually, the BMW 1M E81/82 has this exact sound. Maybe not the popcorn tho.
Yeah... So it turns out the BMW Z4 Roadster (rare car) has the same sound.
Audi rs6 09
The porsche carrera gt should have this sound file!
Formula drift viper car delisted dlc
All viper should have this sound file
Facts
the mclaren f1 sounds so much better in fh4 than in fh5
R4speed could never watch this
Lol why?
@@fastlanegaming he’s a hater for anything that’s not fh5
This sounds way better than FH5
Lol no
???, never 😂
Still the worst car sounds in the series but FH4 still has a charm especially in a title screen which is ironically the best in the series
LFA sounds good but not close the real thing
Now do the forza horizon 2🤟💯💯🗣️🗣️💯💯💯
16:39 beast sounde
The agera rs was perfect in my opinion :/
It is!
1970 amc rebel machine. best classic muscle car sound. the amc amx sounds different
I just wanna say that the mk4 supra sound isn't that bad i mean the devs must used a supra with trd exhaust. Just search mk4 supra trd exhaust and you'll heard what i mean
true
There only two cars i pick in this video are ford gt 03 and lexus lfa.
🫶🏾
@@fastlanegaming thanks 😊.
M2 have the real sound from n55 engine
Nah bro, The M2 sound in fh4 is a copy paste skyline r33/r32 sound
FH4 > FH5
⚔️
Fh5 still has better car sounds
Fh4 sounds are robotic
Horizon 4 had some decent sounds but its not the best sounding horizon game, New update to gt7 soon proably another 3-4 bodykits options.
Unfortunately FH3 did a MUCH better job on the sounds on the cars which were carried over
Also - Ford GT file is probably shared with the Saleen S7
Rip that best sounds ever heard 🪦
💐
Online is dead
No it’s not, I play Online Adventure often
E60 m5 is in different league on horizon 4 than 5. 5 sounds like ass
Honestly I'm Not Fan Of FH4 Car Sounds. It's Meh For Me. Except The R8 Which Was My Favorite One.
There are some solid ones
Good Thing You Capitalised Every Letter
U
?
@@fastlanegamingyou wrote U by accident on one of the cars in the top right
In my honest own personal opinion these car sounds are 🤮🗑💩 except for the MK4 Supra,Lexus LFA,and the Ferrari F40 now FH4 did brought us Treasure Hunts, Super7 (which helped create EventLab),and Lego Speed Champions brought us a proper race track and these 3 features all appeared into FH5 and my rating for the Forza Horizon Series are FH1,FH2,FH3,FH5, and FH4 (the rating is from best to worst) anyways that's my take on this video and also what's the likelihood of FH6 being announced/revealed at Gamescom next month?
