    Hi Rachel!
I don't often comment, but I just had to this time.
You don't know this but you have truly upped my cooking game 😁
My skills as a home cook are excellent because of my grandma and some of my friend's mom's or grandma's too. But with you sharing your skills and teaching step by step my skills have gone through the roof!
Thank you Rachel. For giving precise instructions, caring about your viewers, and your love of cooking... and last, but not least, thank you for sharing what you know. 🥰

I just wanted you to know that I made your "Everyday Salsa," and it is a staple in our home now. It is so easy to make, we always have the ingredients, but it is hard to keep track of when I need to make more. I am constantly hearing the echoes of my family throughout the day: "Is there any Salsa left" "where did all the salsa go" and "Mom, you need to make more salsa." As I said, we don't know how we ever lived without it.

We have hundreds of Roma tomatoes still producing in our garden. I am so blessed to have found your video.
I started watching your channel, and subscribed this past August. I had to stay home from work for a few days because I was caring for my parents.
I'm just now getting to comment and tell you how much I love your videos. Your love for cooking and the joy it brings you is evident in your videos. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You're such a lovely person.
I love to cook and just like my mother and grandmothers before me, the kitchen is the heart of our home.
I live in Oklahoma. I too love aprons and enjoyed the video you shared of your apron collection!

Rachel, I just love your recipes and how you love (your Ron 🥰 ). My husband and I could eat Mexican food 24-7 . I tried your recipe and my husband loved it ! His response was unusual to my usual recipes that are just mediocre . But you my dear have spiced up my life with your very delicious food ! Thank you . I always say , can’t you taste the love in foods we eat when people make it with love and patience - no one cooks like my husband who cares deeply in making perfection . Once I’ve eaten his meals , fast food never seems to compare with the the love he puts in all his food . Your food is fabulous! Much love to you my dear Rachel and Ron from Oahu . And May Jesus Christ our Savior , love and Protect you as well , for all the love you’ve spread through the world . Because of you I too can now make delicious food also ♥️😎

Mrs. Rachel, your mom most likely did not recommend using a medal spoon to insert inside the glass jar because if you drop the medal spoon to hard or in time (base on the thickness of the glass jar) it can break.
As a person who does canning, I too am very protective of my glass jars!
Love you delicious recipes and wonderful videos; please continue to produce more!

Your mother was correct, you never use metal spoon in your canning jar. The jars are made for canning and a small tap with metal can cause them to break or chip. Love your shows, Jo Ann from Mississippi

Who needs Google when you have Rachel? (and her mom) who knew way before the internet why to not use a metal spoon in your tomatoe dishes. One reacts with the other, it puts a tinny taste into your salsa or spaghetti sauce. Its the little things that make great cooks. Keep making us all great cooks, Rachel. God Bless.

My husband are from Colorado where Mexican food is real and feels like a part of family but we moved to Oklahoma City and it's just not the same here so Im doing my best to find the most authentic recipes for our family. You make real recipes feel less intimidating and I can see how much you like to cook and to teach. I'm so grateful for teachers like you on RUclips. When I read on it it made total sense, the metal reacts to the acidity in the salsa..same reason I make sure my copper pots are lined with aluminum like in my Carnitas video, I collect copper but won't use it on tomato dishes unless they are lined with aluminum...I knew the answer but my brain gets away from me sometimes, will have to share lol!! Hi Rachel. I made the Everyday Salsa...TOTALLY DELICIOUS! I made it exactly like you did in the video. I think my Roma tomatoes were a little smaller than yours, so the 1 tsp of Salt was a little too much, so, as I was cooking it on the stove top, I added a little more water so it wasn't so salty. Next time I will find larger Roma tomatoes, or if I can't find larger, I'll add another 1 or 2 smaller ones. Thank you so much for this recipe. I'm a Salsa Lover...can never have enough Salsa! The second batch I used only one serano and jalapeño and I cut the seeds and white out of the center before I blended them. • @1FantasticDreamBird
      @1FantasticDreamBird 2 года назад +9

@@chucksracingchannel377 Just add vinegar or sugar to tone down heat from peppers, a tablespoon at a time to taste. Serrano peppers are actually up to 8 times hotter than jalapeno peppers on the scale. I usually add 1or 2 jalapenos. If wanting the heat from a serrano, just add one.

You Mom was right about the metal spoon. You should never use any kind of metal utensil in Mason jar. It can scratch the interior of the jar, which can effect the canning process. It can also cause small hard to see fractures in the jar, which can cause the jar to break during the canning process. So Mom knew what she was talking about. Pam in South Carolina 😊

No she wasn't. Stop spreading this damned Old Wives' Tale. It isn't true. If you are clumsy, stay out of the kitchen. There is no correct spoon for you.

Hi Rachel! I just found you on RUclips a few weeks ago. I’ve already tried many of your recipes and I have to tell you they are ALL delicious! My family absolutely loves your recipes, and so do I! The first recipe I tried of yours was the albondigas. It was excellent! I’ve tried your mole, enchiladas, beans, your sopapillas and other dishes. ALL WERE FANTASTIC! My father was from New Mexico, and when we visited we ate the sopapillas which were delicious! So thank you!

I made both of them and had the very good flavor and used both of them for putting on eggs and other stuff but for us it was too hot to eat with chips. So I will back off on jalapeño from every day salsa next time. I decreased from 15 to 10 chiles today but it is still hot for a with chips…. I will keep decreasing it until we can eat with chips someday. Lol. I LOBE. the flavor and with eggs and other stuff we like it hot. I need to try and make every day salsa again without a jalapeño. Despite the hotness my husband and I still managed to eat both jars of salsa! I love all of your cooking videos and thank you! 😀
