I love Marvel because it has heroes, but I love DC because it has SUPER heroes. Marvel heroes can have extraordinary powers but their best stories are about human struggles. DC has heroes that shine above the rest. They are the Gilgamesh, Hercules, and Beowulf of our time. They don't need to be relatable: they just need to be inspiring.

This is just me spitballing here, but if I had to guess: it's because theatrical movies are a much bigger deal in the eyes of investors, so they experience much more executive meddling. Also the DCAU just kind of developed naturally as it went along over the years, while they tried to rush the DCEU out without making sure the movies were great on their own first and foremost.
Because shows go on for longer than a movie. Therefore, it's easier for them to have more engagement. Also, shows don't have executives meddling with directors

To be fair, Marvel did get lucky by finding something that works right away, while DC is actually trying new things in attempt to offer audiences something different. I believe that both Batman v. Superman and Civil War had equal potential to be great movies, however, the former fell short of it's potential, while the latter completely delivered. Despite the numerous amount of similarities between the two movie, ultimately what made Civil War more successful, was the central conflict between characters. Cap's loyalty to his friends and Tony's desire to make up for his mistakes made a better story than Batman's paranoid obsession and Superman's, well, lack of reasons to fight. As much as I like Snyder's visuals, the story didn't hold up to Civil War's better explained, and more relatable motivations. Hence DC having to make two movies to make the same as one of Marvels.

I’ll never understand why they decided to completely separate the CW universe and the movie universe. The movies could’ve built off of the success of the shows and just expanded on it. The Justice League Unlimited Intro recreated with live-action scenes. What most recreations fail to do is get the action timed right with the music, and correction the film and tv video ratios, and removing the CW logo. All the video and music belongs to DC comics, the CW, and Warner Bros.
