  • This was a book that I couldn't find much good information on, before buying it. I was worried that it wouldn't live up to it's namesake. However, once I got it, I couldn't put it down. I've read it cover to cover numerous times. I've spent hours gazing at the photos. So, today I thought that we could look through it, together. There's not enough time to read every page, but hopefully this will encourage someone to pick up a copy of their own.

For me there is always something incredibly alluring about vintage, historical photographs. Especially monochrome. Very nice book, thanks for sharing.

Philip Jones Griffiths told me about Koudelka's Leicas when he shot "The Gypsies." He traveled with them, slept in his sleeping bag, but he was afraid the Leicas might be taken while he was asleep, so he put them in the foot of the sleeping bag. However, he had bad dreams and several times kicked and damaged the cameras requiring extensive repairs. That's purely anecdotal, but Philip told me the story as truth, and if Philip dealt in anything, it was TRUTH.

Fuji x100 is what Leica should have been to be honest.

I had the original X100, back when it was "current". I loved it. Wish I still had it.
