It’s very capable, the best pairing to me from a technology standpoint is Apple Watch with my iPhone. But the E4 changes it up physically. It looks more like a watch where Apple Watch looks more like a device strapped to your wrist. You get more fitness features with Apple Watch, but I like the fitness tutorials on E4. If you are only wearing it for fitness, or minimal wear, I'd stay with the 3, but if you wear it a lot, you will notice the differences.

Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me how often to charge the new E4 connected, in normal use? I have a Garmin Fenix 6, and the battery lasts for almost a week. Thank you.
You typically want to charge it at night, sometimes you could pull two days out of the battery depending on usage. Garmin watches are more power efficient than pretty much any smartwatch I could think of.
Typically anything that would display on your phones notifications are able to get pushed to the watch. I’m not familiar with how NFT’s work, unfortunately I’m not much help there.
There is no LTE version yet......I heard somewhere they may be working on that for the next version. You can use it to control multimedia, and I believe you can make calls if you have an Android phone, but you cannot make calls from an iPhone. Same thing though, works as a remote capacity.
Great review! I'm looking at the Tissot solar connect and the Tag. The Tag's battery life is terrible compared to the Tissot. Probably the biggest downfall, oh, and the China thing! You got me to subscribe, looking forward to seeing your other videos!
Thank you Michael! I also did a review on the Tissot. That is a great watch in its own way, the battery life definitely blows away most smartwatches....but it is not a true smartwatch, I look at it more as a standard watch with some smartwatch features. Once you get into fitness features, heart rates, GPS, custom faces, etc, it is hard to balance size and battery life. E4 is much improved over E3, and it is expected that when WearOS 3 drops, it will make more efficient use of the processor which should bring it better battery life. Thanks again for watching and subscribing!
Well thank you Ragdoll, my nail is a hot topic this review. Many appreciated concerns on my well being. No, it’s not a fungus, it’s not a medical condition, it’s a thumb that got slammed in the car door of my Mom’s Caprice Classic back in the 80’s as a kid and has been this way ever since. Which version do you like?
@@DougFNJ I always like the 42 or smaller versions of watches. I have a Tag Link Cal 6 and a Cartier Tank in addition to my Samsung Galaxy watch II so smaller watches appeal to me. I hardly wear the Galaxy watch because it is too big. Glad to know your hands are ok. Sorry about the slammed thumb accident... we've all overcome something...me a broken back... You would look great handling the watches wearing gloves..you set yourself up as a sort of hand model doing these reviews...so you might as well own it. Your voice and delivery are great btw.
Does anyone know what it looks like with update warranty on this watch? How long can you expect approximately with updates? Does anyone have longlife experience with previous models?
Previous model has the older chip. There will be bug fix updates on E3, but cannot upgrade to WearOS 3 due to that processor. E4 has the newest processor, will be able to upgrade to WearOS3 as only a few WearOS watches on the market will.
Very good review. My only constructive advice would be to use black gloves for these reviews, as other serious reviewers are doing. The distraction gets minimized and the object analysed gets much more visually emphasized. Thank you.
Thank you for watching, I always appreciate feedback. It’s funny, when I see the reviews with those wearing gloves, I get more distracted by the gloves. Something unnatural. I also believe they are using the gloves because they dealers selling those watches in a lot of cases. I’m not completely closed minded to the idea, a friend of mine threw that suggestion at me. Thank you for watching and taking time to comment.
That’s the highest priced version, there are lower cost versions. Yes, made in China, but it’s not cheap Chinese garbage. Compare to other smartwatches, it’s premium quality.
@@DougFNJ maybe, but they need to tell people it’s MADE IN CHINA, don’t lead people to thinking it’s some Swiss made time piece. And one more thing, I don’t of anyone that would knowing pay $2800 for a Tag watch made in china mass produced. I think you know this. You must work for the Chinese.
@@jimsmith5502 I don’t work for Tag Heuer, or any of the manufacturers of the watches I review. iPhones, Apple Watches, Mac computers are all made in China. I watch the keynotes when Apple announces their new products. I’ve never seen them reference in their keynotes that these mass produced products are made in China. It’s on the box, and on the product. Tag Heuer is a luxury watch maker. One looking to purchase a Tag Heuer of any type is going to pay a premium for that product. If you look at my review of the Tag Connected Gen 3, every other comment is a complaint that it’s made in China. They likely make or not make their purchasing decision based on that. I’ve never been one that cared personally as long as it’s a quality product like every Apple product I own. All made in China, all high quality. Sadly, if a company wants to use a chip that will support the OS platform, that’s the direction they have to go. Tissot on the other hand made their watch 100% in Switzerland. They have the chip maker out there, the materials, all of it. But they had to create their own platform to do so. The problem with this is it’s got 1/10 the capability of Wear OS.
This gives you the best of both worlds. It’s like getting a Tag case and straps with a processor instead of movement. I wish Apple would start making a more watch looking watch. I appreciate them too, but it’s time for a hardware update.
It’s a nice looking smartwatch and the watchfaces are incredible, but it lacks of any interesting… smart functionalities. They should completely outsource the sensor manufacturing to Samsung. I want ECG, blood-oxygen levels, BIA, body temperature and sleep quality. I’m not spending 2000€ for something that is less advanced than an average 500-600€ smartwatch
I don’t disagree, I take the watch for what it is, notifications, some good fitness tracking, and great faces. They could definitely improve this watch dramatically.
Thank you for watching. I'd do a comparison video, but I use an iPhone, and Samsung Galaxy is not compatible. That and the materials used are big differences. That is not saying Galaxy watch is bad, just not for everyone.
Figure with heavy use about a day, light use with turning off always on display, 2-3 days. That is apparently supposed to increase when WearOS3 releases.
So I've owned this watch in the past and I can definitively say that it's NOT worth the premium price. Smart watches are obsolete in a year or 2 as the newer versions release. The main manufacturers like apple and Samsung do a FAR better job on the smart watch features and design, and make products that are a fraction of the cost (even for their premium versions). Buying into this platform is ridiculous when you factor in that it will be undesirable in a year or 2 and worth nothing.
Samsung is just another brand like Tag that uses Motorola processors and WearOS. They are a fraction of the cost because of cheaper materials, and there is a premium on the brand. It’s all relative of course. It’s like saying a Timex does the same as a Breitling.
Fail if those are the features you are looking for. May I ask what watches do all that in one device though? I might be interested in reviewing one. 😬👍
@@DougFNJ the new Huawei watch gt3 pro has the ability to do all the above . and imo looks just as good as the TH 45.. 42mm tag is superior though .. perfect watch size.
DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH! I bought this giant POS this time last year. You cant see it in the sunlight, the battery life is terrible, doesnt even last all day for me sometimes. Its a PITA to constantly charge. Your hand constantly bumps the crown which is a button that starts the health ap, so you wind up running the app unintentionally which drains the battery even further. The more apps you run, the faster this thing dies. Yeah, it looks nice, I got lots of compliments on it. But then, after 1 year the watch suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. So I sent it back to Tag Heuer for "warranted" repairs. After 2 weeks there, they sent me an email and estimate for over $900 for repairs, stating they were not warranted with no explanation as to why. This is not the service I expect when I spend $2000 on a watch. Especially from a big company like Tag Heuer. Ive been a fan of Tag for over 25 years. I own 2 other analog watches (A Kirium Chrono, and an Aquaracer), but this will certainly be my last Tag.
E4 improved on the deficiencies of the previous E3 being some of the cons you mention. Sunlight visibility and battery were poor before and much improved now.
My Tag Heuer Connected has had connectivity issues since purchase. Terrible product. OS is poor and constantly in repairs. Avoid this product like the plague. Biggest purchase regret in my life.
@@OmarOmar-jl3so You could ask that about anything. Why would someone buy a $10k Rolex when they could go to Walmart and buy a $25 quartz Timex that does the same thing with better rated accuracy? It’s a high end piece. The design, the quality, the materials, made by a high end brand that makes a great watch. Tag isn’t a tech company that makes watches, they are a watch company that made a move that appeals to plenty of Tag enthusiasts who want a Smartwatch. It’s not for everyone…including a lot of Tag enthusiasts. It’s another option available. I use an iPhone which makes using a new Samsung smartwatch impossible because they don’t support it. I have a G-Shock with WearOS, love having the option of a smartwatch that could take a beating. I have a Ticwatch which is a great smartwatch, but it looks and feels cheap. I love the functions of my Apple Watch, another great option with a lot of choices in colors, bands, and materials, but it looks like a device on my wrist. This works out great for something that wears and looks like a real watch with great configurable Tag Heuer faces that is very functional.
Thanks mesoangry, when you look in the details that I took the time to chapter out, you could skip the unboxing and right to the content you are looking for.
This Smartwatch is pure rip off, nothing else. Besides this, a Smartwatch who need almost daily dose of power, is just a crap (independent of the price tag).
Every smartwatch has trade offs. The Garmin will get you more battery life, but the faces are limited, and the interface has a steep learning curve, not to mention the bugs. The Tissot offers 30 day battery life, but there are many limitations. Hopefully WearOS offers enough power saving function to be able to push 3 days.

DOES 42mm have Poorer Battery Life?
Yes, smaller battery, but the difference isn’t dramatic as it also has a smaller display.
Does this have always on display?
It does, that can affect battery life, but I personallly prefer it.
What's the battery life of the 45mm ?
Could easily get a day, longer than that depends on how you use it.
How can I eliminate the pin password I’ve set ?
Should be settings, general, security, and screen lock off. If you have Google Pay active, its required.
What’s the release cycle? 2 years?
They are saying the E5 will be looking at 2025
@@DougFNJ thank you
Great review...informative/clear/concise...now let's discuss your nails...
Would you buy right now a 42mm for 1000€?
Considering they start at $1900, that’s a very good deal.
Did anyone managed to get WhatsApp preview messages on the screen? I get notifications but not the full message. Can’t read it
Unfortunately I don't use WhatsApp, but you may want to reach out to the developer on that.
It's probably hard to operate the watch features with gloves on!
What's the cost on this?
There are many versions at different cost points, go to tagheuer.com for pricing.
Does it work with ios ?
Yes it does, that’s what I use.
Anyone notice how stiff the bracket is? I have rubber bracket but thinking of the steel but looks so stuff. Any issues?
On paper the display is identical, I've compared them side by side and see no difference
That’s correct, just the size.
very detailed but description is too fast
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try to slow them down a bit.
What people need to know is this new Tag Connect golf watch is $2600 and it says on the back of the watch“ MADE IN CHINA”
@@jimsmith5502
I don’t work for Tag Heuer, or any of the manufacturers of the watches I review.
iPhones, Apple Watches, Mac computers are all made in China.
China (ccp) is corrupt so I will not support them or things that are manufactured there.
The electronics are made in China. Not the entire watch. The case and bracelet are made in Switzerland. Says so on the case. You both are wrong.
I really do like it... but it's quite expensive... rather pay 2x more and get a proper tag.. and spend 1/3 of the price on an apple watch as a daily.
Overpriced Chinese watch Garmin smartwatch are the best ones at the moment period
That’s a poor battery life. Just a day! Why can’t they give a bit longer so u could use it for sleep recording.
I’m hoping WearOS 3 extends it long enough where you can do the sleep tracking.
Great video! "iphone messages are read only"... bye bye Tag
Thanks Daniel! Happy these videos help one way or the other for decision making
I dont think it can compete with the Galaxy watch.
Thank you for watching. I'd do a comparison video, but I use an iPhone, and Samsung Galaxy is not compatible. That and the materials used are big differences. That is not saying Galaxy watch is bad, just not for everyone.
Battery life guys
Test
It works
Ok thanks
No sleep tracking no ekg no body temperature wow fail!
Sunlight visibility and battery were poor before and much improved now.
amerikans can read amerikan english and that's it. the ones who can. tag heuer reads as "teg hoier".
Algorithm
My Tag Heuer Connected has had connectivity issues since purchase. Terrible product. OS is poor and constantly in repairs. Avoid this product like the plague. Biggest purchase regret in my life.
Sorry to hear your having issues. Have you reached out to Tag??
Nothing but a samsung smart watch
If you compare the 2 watches side by side, you might think differently on that. But we all have our opinions.
@@DougFNJ I am talking about the basic functions of the watch
@@DougFNJ why would anyone pay 2000$ for a smart watch....basically that has the name tag?
Don't want to watch unboxing pal cut to the good stuff.
Lug to lug distance for the 42 mm? Can’t find it. Thank you. A
20mm. Keep in mind, the bar is fixed.
@@DougFNJ No, not the lug width, lug-to-lug distance…less than 50 mm? Just to make sure fits my small wrist. Thanks a lot again!
