Thanks for the come back Doug , i do like the tag connect , i am leaning towards the Tissot solar connect with the 6 month of life i also have the Apple ultra , which i like evrynight i am charging something starting with my Oura ring lol , have a Happy and Healthy New Year
I have a similar setup lol. Ours Ring which I may do a review on, Ultra at night, and the E4 for the workday which the Tissot could easily for that spot, just comes down to your style preference. Happy and Healthy New Year Ralph! Let me know which you choose
I bought this giant POS this time last year. You cant see it in the sunlight, the battery life is terrible, doesnt even last all day for me sometimes. Its a PITA to constantly charge. Your hand constantly bumps the crown which is a button that starts the health ap, so you wind up running the app unintentionally which drains the battery even further. The more apps you run, the faster this thing dies. Yeah, it looks nice, I got lots of compliments on it. But then, after 1 year the watch suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. So I sent it back to Tag Heuer for "warranted" repairs. After 2 weeks there, they sent me an email and estimate for over $900 for repairs, stating they were not warranted with no explanation as to why. This is not the service I expect when I spend $2000 on a watch. Especially from a big company like Tag Heuer. Ive been a fan of Tag for over 25 years. I own 2 other analog watches (A Kirium Chrono, and an Aquaracer), but this will certainly be my last Tag.
That’s the plan, I’d like to do a comparison between both watches with WatchOS 9 and WearOS 3 when they both release. If the new Apple Watch has some major changes, I’ll likely do a Series 8 compared to the E4.
Great review. I liked the rubber strap with deployment clasp, which I don't have in my current Garmin Marq athelete 2. Do you know whether this trap will be comptible with Marq series ( both have 22mm lenght).
Hello Doug , watch all reviews , right now the e4 45mm is going for $1450 , problaby because the e5 is coming in March 2025 there is very few good reviews on it , I have a Apple ultra with iphone , and i dont exspect it to work the same im sure the e5 will be up there in price and hopefully be less propblems as long as the e4 works with my work-outs and keeps time , what is your take on this
Hi Ralph, thanks for watching. I have both the Apple Watch Ultra and the E4. The sensors and functions on the Apple Watch are better, and I use that for fitness and activity tracking. The E4 I use for the faces, notifications, widgets, and simple tracking like step counts. I’m very curious what the E5 is going to be, I haven’t heard anything official from Tag on any updates yet.
Can any of the watchfaces that you have on the E4 be downloaded to the E3? Or are they only included with the E4? I have the Tag connected 2020 and would like more Tag watchfaces. Also wish that you could use the watchface that you see when it is on the charger.
Thank you Imran. Unfortunately, I don’t think the trickle charge from Solar would be a large enough difference. Apparently though, WearOS 3 is supposed to create more efficiency with the processor to get better battery life in the watches that will be able to upgrade to it.
I have the Withings ScanWatch and find it fulfils my needs and with style. Love to wear my mechanical watches too and use a Xiaomi Band 7 then. Works for me.
Thanks Jaime, I’ll post the photo in the community section of my channel, you should be able to download or screenshot it. I used it for the lens face.
I personally get a full day. Battery life is very dependent on how you use it. If it’s constantly checking heart rate and using GPS all day, it’s going to burn through battery quicker. I use it for timekeeping, notifications and weather widget. Rumors are out there that Tag will release the next version in 2025, and they may potentially get away from WearOS and develop their own OS. If you can wait, E4’s would be expected to decrease in price, and the newer model may be more enticing.
@@DougFNJ Hey Doug, I appreciate this amazingly prompt reply! Thank you. For me, Pulse Rate info' is irrelevant. The GPS feature would benefit me greatly though.
Hi Doug, Loved your Tag Heuer E3 and E4 reviews. I know the E4 isn’t designed for the E3 charger, but can the E3 charger actually charge the E4. I travel a lot and need a couple of extra chargers, but the E4 chargers are over $80 each, whereas the E3 ones are much cheaper. Any thoughts? All the best, Jerry
I hate that they made them both proprietary. Unfortunately the chargers are not interchangeable. That includes the 42mm e4 not working right on the 45mm E4. Bad job by Tag for a money grab.
Battery life is subject to how you use it. I get a full day out of mine from 8 am until I go to sleep. I put it on the charger around 2am and it’s typically inside 25-50%
Very subjective. For fitness tracking I’d go Apple Watch. For the case, style, notifications, and increasing library of excellent faces, I personally love it!
One big oversight here is Tag Heuer should have made straps compatible with Autavia (and vice-versa). Thats a model I already own, I'm a huge fan of these quick-tab swap-able straps, just think it would have helped build out the ecosystem for these straps more.
I hope Tag sees the strap eco system that could be developed. There’s a whole market just in straps with Apple Watch and other manufacturers that have strap changing systems.
Terrible product. Android OS is plagued with issues. Simple things like logging my morning walk is too much for the watch iOS. Have had the product replaced through Fair Trading Commision and even with the latest replacement - so many issues. AVOID at all costs.

I love your Tag Connected videos !! ;-)
Thank you very much!

A very good, nice detailed review of the e4 straps. Once the update for wear os 3 comes out, can you compare e4 against apple watch.
That’s the plan, I’d like to do a comparison between both watches with WatchOS 9 and WearOS 3 when they both release. If the new Apple Watch has some major changes, I’ll likely do a Series 8 compared to the E4.

If it’s 22mm it should fit. You could try and if it doesn’t you should be able to return.

Great video. I’m not a fan of the OS and battery life. Maybe solar like with Tissot?

Great video! Quick question, how did you get the Tag Heuer face at the end of the video? The really cool looking red/green/black and logo? TIA
Thanks Jaime, I’ll post the photo in the community section of my channel, you should be able to download or screenshot it. I used it for the lens face.
so, the watch face will keep always on and second hand run smooth at the same time?
When you look at it, the second hand will run smooth. When not being looked at, second hand disappears.
So now in 2024, do you recommend a E4 42mm? I am watching YT vids that are highly critical of the battery life -- your thoughts?
I personally get a full day. Battery life is very dependent on how you use it. If it’s constantly checking heart rate and using GPS all day, it’s going to burn through battery quicker. I use it for timekeeping, notifications and weather widget.

Hi can you please compare E4 with Montblanc Summit 3?
Thanks for watching Khaldoon, at some point I may reach out to Mont Blanc and see if I can get a review unit.

Did I miss the battery life ?
Battery life is subject to how you use it. I get a full day out of mine from 8 am until I go to sleep. I put it on the charger around 2am and it’s typically inside 25-50%
So, is it worth it to buy it ?
Very subjective. For fitness tracking I’d go Apple Watch. For the case, style, notifications, and increasing library of excellent faces, I personally love it!

Beautiful watch faces.
I think that’s one of the biggest appeals to having one of the Connected watches, and they continue to develop new faces.
Bracelet sucks i broke mine too wide and eaybto break
Yea, I’m not a fan of the bracelet either. Too wide, E3 was much better
