This video shows you how to replicate any complex shapes with ease. .
Other details -
- curing time for silicone - 4-5 hrs
- pot time 5 minutes
Recast it in Plaster of Paris ( 1:1 ratio to water by volume)
Clear Acrylic Spray paint ( clear)

How much expenditure needed for this mould
Approximately Rs.1500 per kg of rubber silicone . PoP costs are between 60- 100 / kg

The shore hardness of the silicon is of the range 00 A to 50 A - It really doesn't matter unless you are going to do a mass production.

I used to buy from amazon. There are a few vendors. But i dont see them now. I switched to alibaba sometime back. It comes out cheaper. Check out Modsil15 on amazon.in , they are a bit costly, but will be good to begin with.

How sturdy is the plaster? Will it Break if dropped?
Yes. The edges of the plaster will break for sure if it is dropped. The brittleness of the plaster also depends on what percentage of water you use to make your plaster.

Can I replace selicion mold with ceramic
You mean, cast ceramic out of the silicon mold ? ( the silicon mold can withstand up to 400 degree Celcius ) - but for just casting ceramic out of it, It should work, and then you should transfer it into the kiln. ( I havent tried it , but I guess it should work )
Why do you not use releasing agent ?
Ideally I should, but the surface was very clean and shiny. So the releasing agent wasnt quite necessary

It wasnt quite necessary . The plaster of paris hadn't completely dried. So cant paint on it unless it is completely dry. ( Could also have kept in the sun )

Very much . It just needs patience. I suggest first you try with smaller objects . to avoid wastage of material - liquid silicon is costly > :)

You dont necessarily have to bake it .. Keep in sunlight . It just takes a little longer time .

I used silicon that was bought from alibaba.com . Its a rather no-grade silicon. ( Non -food grade , industrial , RTV ) You get similar in amazon, but are very costly. Its better to get it from China, if you have alibaba account

Yes. Just make sure there its not a dusty place. Usually it takes around 6-8 hours ( according to the hardner that is mixed with the silicon ). But just to make sure it gets fully cured, we generally keep it for a day .

Can I use water paint
I haven't tried water paint ... but I would suggest putting an initial coat before you apply water paint, since the POP will absorb all the water from the paint and might not give the desired output.

No. It just makes the drying faster. You can keep it out . But it takes a little longer to dry.
