The 3 service vehicles we had in our fleet had an emergency kit to get it self out. Jumper cables, tow strap, fuses, tire plug kit, a gallon of water, 5 ton jack, extra lug nuts and assorted fasteners. Never trusted paid car services, the wait time is lost.revenue. Being in AZ Southern Cali base I kept the AC system in check. Emissions system is a major cause of the check engine light to come on. So it's nice to take care of it right away. A OB2 reader in glove box is a handy thing to have in the truck.
"The list goes on and on." As a former general contractor and someone intimately familiar with all building trades, I am of the opinion that electricians have the most parts and tools to keep track of. There's no way carpenters and plumbers, even HVAC guys can compare to the sheer volume of small and large parts and devices needed to arrive well equipped to a jobsite. Your video perfectly illustrates this fact. No shade on woodworkers or any other trade; just fact.
Speaking From Experience on the safety panel behind the front seats. Jan 2009 was rear-ended by a guy doing 60+ in a 35 as I was slowedto about 5 mph. My 89 Chevy panel van, W/out safety panel, loaded with my tools Rolled 2½ times. The front windshield had tool's sticking out of it. They picked up tool's scattered over 300 foot area. Thanks for the walk around on your company. So much to learn.
There is one thing I always add to my vans it is a 3000 watt inverter so I always have a way to charge my batteries if I’m in an area where there is no power.
I am a tinkerer and home owner. I saw you demo that husky box and immediately went to Lowe Depot and picked that up to get my you-know-what organized. Thank you for all you do to help boost or knowledge and confidence.
Thanks for this content! Always thinking there ought to be a better way. I like to see the high level of organization and thought that went into this van build. Just the video i was looking for.
Nice service van template, something you really have to look out for is how the Upfitter attaches your shelving, cannot tell you how many vans came from the dealer where the shelves came loose within weeks, attached with no 14 screws, or screws hitting wiring, harness, or brake lines, make sure your shelves are nut and bolted in place.
Wow, as I’m taking over my (unorganized) dad’s mostly residential electrical business, I’ve been searching for an inventory example and layout for organizing a van. This is a great help!! Would love a more in-depth look in the van and/or what you stock in your warehouse and how you have it organized if possible. Thank you very much from Delaware!
You mentioned the man who uses the truck earned it. He had only home project electrical experience. That is amazing! I'd love to be an electrician but only have home and some experience helping a Master E in a school district.
My Dude. I'm 45, I fell in with an Electrician 4 years ago. EVERYTHING clicked from the first day. I love Everyday, even the days I'm crawling under a house or crawling through an attic. There is not much that is more satisfying than flipping that switch for the circuit YOU just ran all nice and straight with on kinks or twists.. Attitude is a BIG factor, "Can Do" is my moto (even if spiders are a factor) Go for it.
I feel now is a great time, if you're looking for a career or career change. I left a corporate IT job this year after a decade and am working on starting as an apprentice electrician soon. The trades are hurting and there needs to be some good solid folks stepping up to fill the void.
@@SavedByFaithInJesus thanks for the reply. I'm right behind you at 42. Spend my 20s working dead-end jobs. My 30s as a small church pastor. Lately found my way into I.T. so far to meet family needs. Perhaps somehow, Jesus will find a way. Thanks for the encouragement!

Start reinforcing the floor.. I've seen people cut the floor out right by the sliding door to gain entry.. alarm won't go off because the doors are closed the whole time and they are kinda hidden under the van..
Thank you Joel for sharing some insights into a professional's set up. I'm very impressed at the level of care that you and your team exercise with both personal safety and customer care. I see so many examples as of late where "craftsmen" have abandoned the basic principles of professionalism. You guys are top notch!!
I am a licensed master electrician for the past 51 yrs !! FORGET THOSE 1/4 LEAD ANCHORS ARE A PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!! I HAVE AN EASILER WAY AND CHEAPER. BUY HILTI, FASTENAL SLEEVE ANCHORS . A 1/4" SLEEVE ANCHOR WILL HOLD ABOUT 1200 POUNDS. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS DRILL 1/4" HOLE AND USE A 1/4" ANCHOR, TAP IN THE ANCHORS WITH A 3/8" NUT DRIVER AND TIGHTEN DOWN THE ACORN NUT!!!!! THINK HOW LONG IT TAKES TO DRILL THE HOLE, MOUNT YOU OBJECT, DRIVE IN THE ANCHOR WITH NUT DRIVER AND LINEMANS PLIERS (KLEIN) AND TIGHTEN DOWN IN LESS THAN 3 TO 5 MINUTES!!!! DONE THAT, BEEN THERE SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF TIMES!!!
I love the videos, and I'm thinking about a new career when I retire. I've taken a few NFPA courses at work as safety training, but I love learning and doing my own electrical and plumbing works that have passed inspection
I just wanna wrap the copper wire around a bolt sticking outta the wood on the new balcony I'm on the 3rd floor and that's the way it was before I had to disasemble it? I mean dose an antenna even need a ground wire?
I was looking at going the used suburban route but ended up with a full size escalade for the same costs. I have to have a 4 wheel drive and considering building a drawer system for it. Can't find anything for sale that isn't well over book, high miles and needs work unless you are well north of the 30k price range. Also I have been judged by customers, perspective employers and quite honestly at least formed an opinion on people working for me based on the type and neatness of what they are driving.
I love the video! Been watching you for a bit to learn as much as I can. I am on my 4th year if solar, and thinking about getting my card next year after I finish my masters program. Your videos are so helpful to get me immersed in the electrical world as I do homework. Soooo..... what is that tool at the 8:40 mark? I need to know if I need to add something to my list for Santa last minute....
Also need to add to my comment, if you have a MENARDS (or order on their app) I highly recomend their KETER toolboxes. I have 1 of the 24" MASTERLOAD ROLLING & 2 of the 22" CANTILEVER toolboxes.

I must've hit the lottery, Nissan van amazing condition 2018 at a reasonable price, totally beats the Flintstones Mobile car with holes in the floor. So you went decals rather than rap that's a good idea I've heard that the wraps tend to do bad things after a while. Well I like how shiny and white it is it's very white. So you're saying I should get licensed and put myself in the front seat.

Every van needs quality first aid kits setup for high blood loss and trauma. Quick clot bandages are a lifesaver!
I was in a transit with no divider. Got in a bad wreck when someone ran a red light and had tools in my lap and on the floor up front.
😬 Glad you didn't take a drill or sledge to the head! You get a nice divider with that insurance money?!

It's a fish tape puller, but it's possible it would work for that
