- It's December, and that means a War Thunder update that is almost certainly rushed. Most holiday updates War Thunder has released follow this trend, and Update 2.13, Winged Lions, is no different. But is it really all that bad? The update certainly has a fair number of bugs, but some interesting tanks like the Type 10 and M51 Sherman were added.

Have you experienced sound bug when playing with ground vehicles, some random static sound playing over the engine and gun sounds or the M1128 twitching when trying to turn?(driving and turn either left or right and the turret will twitch and the tank will jerk slightly backwards and no my ping has been between 50-87 and pl 0% every match so far
The thermals bug was most definitely not related to the wind effects, but related to the fact that vehicle exhaust is no longer a problem in Thermals.
yeah when he mentioned the exhaust i immediately figured it was bugged because they applied that to all smoke accidentally rather than just the exhaust itself
I understand why they make smoke block thermals but one of the sole reasons for thermal optics existing irl is to see through smoke
@@Dennis-vm6lu There are different kinds of smoke, most of which has only limited effect on thermal optics. This is why thermal sights have no problem seeing through ESS clouds, those are only good for visual obscuration.
Some smoke sources however, such as white phosphorous, do provide significant obscuration against thermals. As you might imagine, these became more widespread in usage as IR sights proliferated.
So exhaust doesn't blocm thermals?
@@StacheMan26 yes smoke grenades use a tiny bit of WP, but that doesnt make the whole smoke cloud have heat. It would look more like splotches and spots than a solid cloud
As a mostly US Top Tier air player, this update as been great. The new EC style RB maps they've added (Afghanistan, Spain, and Vietnam) have been a boon and really enjoyable to play. I haven't really seen any of the RUclipsrs talk about it yet which is kinda surprising, but if Gaijin continues to add more of these, it would be great, especially if they decide to enable multiple spawn options for Air RB.

Wish the EC maps were far more more common in the matchmaker, I've only had them twice (out of 94 air RB matches) and not in aircraft that could really use the extra space

My understanding with the traction issues is that they were futzing around with the terrain deformation for the dozer blades to make them build up mounds faster, and thanks to the spaghetti code borked traction. Also, with some of the tanks that received physics based tracks this patch, I've been noticing that they collide with the vehicle model hard enough to spark and slow the tank down.
Yeah this has made my Matilda nigh unplayable
My Tiger had that issue with its tracks I think? I was just driving round and all of a sudden my left track sparked and the tank pulled hard to the left. Oh well Tiger just bounces nearly everything it comes across xD

Ghost shells and random bs bounces are back stronger than ever, idk why but since the update i’ve been doing much worse overall
I haven't had a ghost round myself yet, but I do agree with the bouncing issue, like earlier today I shot an M1A2 on the side and it said target undamaged, it was quite frustrating ngl :D hopfully some more fixes drop soon to fix the ghost shots
Yeah I keep getting bs gunfights where I shoot first and my cross hair was on them yet I die
It is due to the update, the servers struggle without fail every patch. This raises ping on the server side causing client ghost shells.
I believe I had ghost rounds against me twice in a match a short while ago. I am almost 100% that they should have hit me and killed me, but nothing, not even an impact sound.
yeah like yesterday i expierenced so many ghost shells and strangely maybe once or twice when i shot but most of the time when i got shot many shots were ghost shells and i should have died many times over . so maybe its server issues?
I've witnessed the same kind of event where the vehicles that drive in the backround completely loose it and smash into your vics.
I main US, so I saw an MGS suffer a mechanical breakdown behind my Abrams. Then it got rammed by another MGS, and then another. Basically they rammed it so hard it flipped over

The traction issue is definitely a thing. When you've got spaded vehicles cannot drive over a small sand dune it's not good.
There's some flashing graphics glitches too.
But my biggest drama has been inconsistent damage.
When you cannot penetrate the turret ring of a T-34 at point blank with a Sherman Firefly there's something crazy going on.
I managed to have a panther shot pen a sherman, bounce around inside three times, and exit out the front and hit my own upper plate, all without even spalling or detonating.
Ive seen plenty of weird bounces but that takes the cake
I agree with the traction issue, my leopard 1 can't even climb a slight incline of any material it just acts as if it were a bar of soap that I dropped in the shower.
As a German main, try playing Sweden. The un-upgraded, stock Strv. 74 *cannot even turn* on sand or snow if it is not already moving forward at significant speed. A Swedish tank that can't maneuver in *snow.* Well done, Snail Boys, well done. */sarcastic golf clapping*
Traction is so bad in war thunder realistic along with speed loss meanwhile in arcade heavy tanks feel weightless. It's like the tanks all have underperforming engines which makes them feel artificially heavy butare also very light because traction doesnt exist.

Is it just me or has ghost shells dramatically increased in frequency since the patch time?? I feel like 1 in 10 clear hits is now a ghost shell

Yeah, I've played for years, and I had never actually seen the "ghost shell" happen except by a ping spike, but in the last month, I've had it happen twice: perfect connection, have full reload, just completely ghosts through the tank, no sparks or nothing
@@socialjihad5724 I feel like heat rounds ghost shell way more often than regular ones, and I only have about 1 tank that does fire them in my lineup. Coincidence?
the servers feel a bit jank in general. I'll have fine ping and PL but I'll get ghost shells and sparks and weird movement

Totally agree about traction. Never supported the nerffing when first done. The traction should be modelled per the vehicles abilities. That is what drew me to WT in the start, being based on technical data, not artificial balances. Let tanks do what tanks do.
Yeah especially considering some tanks can climb a 60 degree slope irl while in WT they struggle with a 30 degree slope
As someone who comes from WG's games (and still plays them) the traction thing was really annoying, since I'm used to being able to climb fairly steep things with ease, it's annoying being unable to climb said inclines.

@@snazzydazzy No it wouldn't be. And they actually did close off several cheeky spots with barricades after the nerf. Snd then never undid the nerf. Hear me out on this: I'm gonna file this under Russian bias. Because Russian tanks have infamously poor gun depression. But if no one can actually climb the hills they should be able to climb, other nations that have awesome gun depression (like the U.S. or Sweden) cannot then use that to their advantage to fight hull down. Thereby passively "buffing" Russian tanks by making one of their most notorious flaws a complete non-factor.

The panther dying at 3:21 and the flame coming out the barrel since the breach was open is always nice! Never really notice it/seems to be a bit rare to see it perfectly like that.

I think this update also significantly reduced RP gains.
I noticed that too. I'm running a premium and at times, even one of my two premium vehicles, winning, and still *routinely* losing SL.

Also tanks "spawn" in my line of sight more often. Pretty fun getting killed by something the server decided you didn't need to see.
Maps also got larger in air rb. Something that has been requested for years. THANK YOU GAIJIN.
There's still a lot of work needed to fine tune them. Longer timer (ideally all maps would be 45 minutes long), more airfields, and not able to be seen below 10.0, then they'd be better

Something i heard is a programmer/coder looked in to War Thunder and said its a spaghetti code mess, Every update we get i agree whit this more and more.
3:36 I’m like 80% sure the main motive for that was the addition of a certain country in war thunder that makes heavy use of tanks with front-mounted engines
for the AMX-30 heat it's fine because it fights smaller tight tanks like the T-54 or the Leopard 1

The AMX-30 used to be worse, in fact, it was comparable to WWII HEAT rounds because it wasnt modeled differently like HEAT-FS.

Can we talk about the fact that the economy in toptier is now broken, as in a 5 kills plus 2 cap in a Leclerc S2 only got me 2K RP and barely more than 5 to 6k SL, which in the end doesn't change much after resupplying shells. Just 2 days after the update, i see that all the new vehicles desappeared. Controls menu was gone, and is still disrupted.
The Type 10 pushed many japanase main to play toptier, more than french for the Leclerc S21, which makes game filled with Type 90 with 4 sec reload. IF toptier wasn't fun already, it is even worse now. And just wait for TV guided bombs and CAS we will see.
I honestly feel this update being badly prepared and released too soon.
I feel those nerfs were the raison d'etre of this update and the new stuff was just window dressing.
You can lolpen the Type-90 at most angles with DM-33 equivalent and above.
Ohhh CAS will get so much worse. People are complaining about 50s-60s jets now but even something like the F-117 Nighthawk is probably in the near future.

I’m glad we have the Type 10 and even if the armor model isn’t perfect, it’s much better than all of the inaccuracies with the Type 90. My main complaint is that the 10 has less horsepower than the 90, but is also lighter. This should translate to the 10 having better acceleration but a slightly lower top speed. In Game currently the 10 is much slower in every way from turning to accelerating than the 90 and it makes no sense. The 10 also has the CVR transmission which allows it to go 70 km/h both forwards and backwards with the same acceleration, but as modeled the reverse gears are far too sluggish. Hopefully these will be addressed soon.
I feel ghost shells increased drastically, i was playing the waffentrager, I shot a jumbo where the ammo is located and nothing happened, it just went through, after like 2 more shots i killed it ._.

Map and spawns need to be drastically adjusted to avoid being able to look into one spawn from another.
since last update ive also been getting massive FPS drops (from like 200 when in menu to sometimes below 10 for the few first minutes into the match) everytime i entered a custom pilotage or a custom naval match
There's a glitch that nerfs your fps for your first 10 minutes in a custom, everyone gets it
So Gaijin wants us to suffer in the game AND physically with the LOUD planes
In options i have other engines sounds on max so at the start of the battle I'm going deaf from my friendlies engines, every time jet fly over me i go deaf BUT i cant hear a running enemy engine few meters away from me.
What I found:
Some tanks are completely invisible, even when firing. I've had multiple times now that I couldnt see where the shot was fired from, no smoke, no effect, no tank, but I knew exactly where it was coming from. I think they have made the 'tank visibility behind rocks' more strict or some reason.
I get planes just unrendering sometimes when within 6km of me and had too many missiles launched at me like that.

M-51 is exactly why I don't want post war cold war tanks going up against WW2 tanks.
Dear god that thing sits lower than a pershing or a jumbo, and makes most US players second guess if they should shoot the damn thing since sherman spam is real at that BR
My favourite part of this update is the new b57 bomb bay. The bay doesn’t open but you can still drop bombs through it.
Same for new Vautour IIN premium and Buccaneer S1
The Centauro's traction has been weird for a while, it slides on paved road like it's ice.
The update for me and my friends have made tanks incredibly difficult to drive normally. We play on controller, and steering got fucked up for us. If you try to turn while driving you come to a complete stop, turn and drive straight again, and wheeled vehicles like 1128 and Centauro ect, have a weird snap back/ recentering issue that's made steering very difficult.
Yeah, I'm really noticing the traction changes - I have a stock M901, and the thing just will not go up a mild incline.
I think its bad. Im losing SL like crazy, even in lower tiers like 3.7
Plus shell shatering, ghost shells apprear very often , there is no bomb sounds or airplane noise sometimes too.
Probably want you to buy 'Gold' for real money like in WoT or worse, because they feel they're not earning enough.
@@SparrowNoblePoland atleast in wot I can make a profit with perm especially if I'm not using alot of gold rounds and gold consumables but here it just been feeling worse with my perm plane as I'm not getting alot of SL as I was before on decent matches
@@alphawolf1786 I haven't played WoT for years, but the last time I played it was very different for different tanks. In one I would be quickly going bankrupt even when I was winning most of the time, and in the other whatever happened I was earning money. The buys of gold for real money however had been legendary. Imho, greed will kill both of these games.
I got stuck in a crater with my 76mm jumbo in a 6.3 match and i could do nothing against it
The main issues I've had are invisible vehicles. Once in the air where an F-4C didn't render 2km out until he opened up with his vulcans. I couldn't see him or his tag, but he was on my minimap. My allies 30km away rendered him apparently, though.
Another issue, though less able to be sure, where tanks weren't rendering if there was a fence nearby. Both teams were complaining about it, but it was hard to pin point for sure if there weren't any other factors affecting it.
Been having the non rendering tank issue a lot, thought it was just me. Hope they fix it.
@@mitchverr9330 They've seemed to come in and out before the update as part of the anti cheat, but I'm wondering if Gaijin's set a lot of the scenery as "walls", so that is why the game won't render with brush around even though you clearly should be able to see the other side.
I also found a weird bug!
When you drive your tank on a flat model like top of a cliff, ground around bomb craters etc. your tank will get stuck and sort of stutter, like something is stopping your tank, if you fall inside of a crater model, you will sort of jump around the crater. I think this bug happens more oftern in low tier tank because they are usually lighter. Not only is this bug annoying, but sometimes you can actually die because of this, as you can't aim properly.
PS: It also happens to my friends when they play the game
1:40 I was driving the black prince and literally got stuck on losing traction on open ground… the bug (I hope to god it’s a bug) literally made the tank unplayable. I know bugs happen with all game updates but man this one was bad
Doesn’t really affect pc but on console you can no longer use the sides of your joystick to turn meaning while moving forward you only have 1/3 of the joystick to use and if you turn too hard it hits the brakes without even beginning to turn

It really annoys me that Israel was added and not Canada. It's the only major ww2 nation missing from the game. It would also be nice to see Poland or Czechoslovakia added to game.

It's literally a bloody cockroach tank with the most effective armor in the game, tier for tier. More people should hate it, it's absurdly strong now and arguably undertiered to a significant degree.

Im glad im not the only person who noticed quite a few bugs with this new update, including the craters essentially stopping tanks dead and jet engines either being deafening (usually in ground battles) and quiet when you fly them yourselves. I do agree it feels rather rushed and personally feel it should serve as an example as to why Gaijin needs to slow down a bit with their development. Some other bugs ive noticed are other nations lineups showing when you swap between nations (which I could have sworn was supposedly fixed two updates ago) and of course the typical Gaijin server mishaps with every single update causing immense packet loss

As an italian top tier player i found this update good in the ideas but bad in the realization (It's a long comment and, because i'm italian there might be some grammatical errore; and because It has an complicate logical Reading; so don't read It fast):
• The Addition of the 60mm HVG to the normal tech tree Is a good idea; but the fact that the Dardo HVG comes after the Centauro Romor isn't good; because if we look the Cold War light tanks sub-tree as whole, we start whit the fiat 6614, then the Aubl 74 comes and It's at the wright place because si smaller, It has a faster turret rotation speed and gun reload and It has NVDs; the there's the Dardo whit Aubl/74 turret, It has more hull armour and so makes sense that comes after the normal Aubl/74; then there's the R3 T106 FA, It has 2 guns, longer reload speed, but better penetretion and Speed, so It makes sense; then there was the Centauro sub-tree, It's an upgrade from the T106, and all the Centauro varation have something more from the predecessor, so the whole sub tree makes sense; but whit the new Dardo between the Romor and the MGS It's a mess because It's just a down-grade from the Romor; It has less penetretion, armour and Speed; So to solve this problem i reccomend to Gaijin to nove the new Dardo before the Centauro Preserie; instead there could be added the Dardo whit an 105/52 gun; It has the same munitions but Better thermals and a 5 seconds autoloader.
• It's the second update in a row whitout a new reserchable Plane in the tech tree.
one of the questions i have with Air this update is the Seafire mkiii thats gone in it 5.0, its effectively a mk5 spitfire but a whole BR higher with more ammo
As someone who has been wanting to have a separate Israeli ground tech tree for a while, this is a good update. I must say that the new Merkava has been probably the most fun I’ve had in the game. Still haven’t purchased the M-51 yet but that also looks fun. When the full tech tree comes out I will probably be missing for a while grinding it. As for the bugs, they’re a mess and some are being fixed but not a lot. Another thing about sound, on ground battles my track sounds will be fine for my first spawn, but sometimes on my second one the track/ground noises will just disappear.
My friend who plays wt everyday and religiously kept complaining about how many ghost shells there were ever since the update dropped
The new smoke effects are amazing in warthunder. Clouds float down the sides of the aircraft when firing mgs
One bug that is annoying me and my friends is when you get shot, no crew gets hit or if they do, either they turn red or not enough crew is killed to send you to hangar, and you still die by ''crew knocked out''.
One of the most hillarious moments of this bug is when my track and engine got hit, and i still died by ''crew knocked out'' eventho none of my crew got hit.
Here's something also worth noting. Engine fumes can't be seen through thermals anymore which is a nice plus for vehicles with front mounted engines but you can't see through dust clouds on maps that have them like Sinai and Aral Sea.
So what gives
The sound issues you mentioned usually happen after a sound update if you have a sound mod installed
I had a bug where I was playing Japan and loaded into a game with Swedish vehicles, it showed my profile as Japan even in game, my friend was also there too and they went from Japan to Britain, don't know how it happened, but it was a pretty annoying issue not being able to play the nation we wanted to. Luckily it seemed to only happen once.
Everytime I watch a spookston video I now just preemptively hear the subnautica theme in advance 🤣
Random feature they removed is custom bot ranks in custom battles.
A bot’s rank is now determined by the minimum and maximum of the selected rank for players. (I.e. changing bot’s rank independently of the minimum and maximum player rank has been removed)
Funny story, I actually use the dozer blade on my T-72AV every match. The hull is just so bad so I find a spot, dig a hole, and hull down. I generally get 3-4 kills like that while people plink away at the turret. It’s not flawless, but it’s better than hauling ass across the field and getting ammo racked
i personally got my sidam25 stuck in some 30° stairs in the desert map (the one in the middle east), i couldn't believe a rank VI tank had that low mobility, glad that someone else noticed this thing.
also the new vcc80/60 cost is like the other 10.0 tanks in the tech tree, being only 9.0
The game lobby is usually broken. You sometimes get it a match where there are only 5 players per team and other players' names are there but not connecting.
They fixed the thermals picking up the exhaust on the bmp2. Your the man bro.
I think the smoke grenades not blocking thermals issue is completely down to the fact that they are coded similarly or identically to the exhaust. In the effort to fix the exhaust bug Gaijin inadvertently bugged out the smoke grenades. I suspect they'll have to go through each vehicle's smoke grenades and re-work them some way to make them operate properly again or they'll have to re-instate the exhaust blocking thermals in the meantime.
I'm telling you as a current serving member and M1296 Dragoon driver for 2CR, exhaust fumes do in fact show up in thermals

I actually haven't seen or noticed any of these bugs except a BMP 2 crashing in my hanger background. But that was pretty funny.
Gotta say, I love the introduction of EC maps on air RB. It's exactly what I've wanted for top tier for ages.
one of the main reasons I stopped playing top tier tanks was because thermals having issues with being unable to see anything specifically where your exhaust was. And it's already been proven in the real world that never happens.
And now, about half my games contain ghost rounds, but only when im shooting someone.
Opposite of ghost rounds though, I got killed by an R3 from a very steep point of attack in a heavy tank. I spent literally 15min using protection analysis trying to find any location the r3 could have penned me from the side or front and there was literally zero possibilities. It's almost like the shell phased past the armor.
My in battle music doesn't work. And they added that new US SPAA right in the middle of my researching the ADATS.
This game is the definition of "almost fun" and these patch reviews highlight that so well with how your best notes on all of them always amount to "they didn't break the game this time."
About the jet/plane sound bug, I had that same thing a long while back. If i remember corectly, re-installing the game solved it for me
The new planes aren't exactly bad per say, I'm actually happy they added top tier stuff that isn't game shattering. So far fighting the F-105D is similar to fighting F-104s so not a big deal, the F4J looks pretty fun with the Post Doppler radar and Aim-7Fs, new premium mig21 for russia is pretty balanced, Su-22's big redeeming factor is speed and 6x R60s, Japan, Italy, and China didn't get jack shit but that's expected, France finally has a Mirage 5 to suffer with, and the Israeli Air tree while being China 2.0 looks pretty fun
Positives on the update for is that gaijin have finally broken my habbit of nearly only playing 5.7 USSR to a 6.3 with the Akatsiya, I can't express how I didn't expect this vehicle to shift me into 6.3 (also the good old Yak15P). & the jet engine sounds are top notch for me, both yours & enemy alike I hope they dont screw it.
Negatives, well to not list every single stacking issue the game have I'll mention 2, with traction now you could easily gwt stuck or hamper your movement droving close to obsticles, even those that are higher hieght than your tracks (you get sucked into the middle of them) & its pain to get lose out of them. Also the sounds, they screwed it hard with values that you sometimes hear vehicle engines as if they are next to you (allies/enemies) & other times as if no one is there, & usual sound values reset to default.
The biggest grupe I have thus update is that they seemed to have changed how directional sounds works. Before, you can can tell where exactly players are by sound alone but now, somehow they sound like they are coming from all directions.

I've been playing pretty consistently for the last 8 years. Mostly in the last 5. I have 8,000+ hours. I have an over 1,200 day login streak. I only heard about the update once and had no clue what the main attraction was. Is it the wind? I thought Israel was supposed to drop. I did watch some of the stream previewing it. For me the M51 is the main attraction
I actually really like the new air noises. Really makes you feel the fact that you're about to just get obliterated from Gods Wrath Above. You can experience being a tanker without AA with more realism than ever!
I don’t like the bad part, but the only bad part I think is funny is the tanks crashing into your tank in the hangar
Traction in snowy maps is so horrendous now you spend most of the match at a crawling speed
Whenever I use the JU-87 B1, the texture is at 144p, before this update, that never happened, and this is the only vehicle I have this happens on, although I don’t play German planes that much
My textures get stuck like that too if i change camos on my planes
I was literally stuck on flat ground at one point
While driving the Type 61 light tank, i was getting stuck on sidewalks. Fucking sidewalks! The thing simply refused to climb a few inches of concrete.
If you're having sound issues then check your GPU. I had that problem with sound in War Thunder right before my GPU crapped out. There were only two games that I had sound problems with, War Thunder and Squad. All of my other games worked fine so I never thought to check the GPU until after it burned out. That may not be the source of your problem but it's still worth looking into.
Something that doesn't make sence, is the wind effekt on smoke in maps where it is raining. The rain comes straight down when the smoke of a burning tank is angled.
Its not just curbs and craters it’s sometimes just randomly getting stuck. Not as bad as what it was a few patches ago but still noticeable

Couple annoying changes:
Stormer is now useless against anything but helicopters, other very slow planes or planes flying head on/head off.
The projectile barely turns.
HEAT-FS on e.g. AMX-13-90 is almost completely useless. You now this when you pump three shells into a Leo-1 (the basic one) and it doesn't even kill crew. Kills rangefinder, does a bit of damage...
And also, a major bug that's been here forever: Ikv-91, an amphibious vehicle, isn't actually amphibious. It sinks like a stone, despite IRL being able to swim with minimum preparation. I do admit me finding this out after reading the IKV-91s wikipedia page and driving into water was pretty funny.
The new M-51 is bugged, you can't break its gun from the front. I hit one right on the muzzle break with my IS-2 and the shell just sorta went down the barrel and did nothing.
I think the engine sounds aren't gone. I had the same issue. I think you need to get rid off some sound mods since they overwrite the new ones. There are new jet sounds added and the sound mods doesn't have them. Hope solves the issue
Yep, what fixed mine was going to the config.blk file and adding this line to the sound category enable_mod:b=no
You missed a key thing for Air RB - EC maps for Jets! Its been an incredible change actually having room to breathe in jets and it not just being a clusterfuck to see who wins. Now I can actually put my radar to decent use in RB for things other than using Fox 1s.
The Dozer blades would be more fun to play and important to have in lower BRs.
These just dont work with thermals and laser rangefinders very well because you simplay are a static target that you can kill quite easy.
In lower BRs you have the potential to dig in and hold a area very well because you can bounce alot of shells if played correctly.

Planes are so unrealistically loud,I am playing only ground stuff,before this update I was playing with 100% volume on "Engine Sound of other players " now I am playing on 30% and it is till very unenjoyable to play ,plane flying 3 km away from me and ripping my ears apart while I am in a tank .....
I had the weird tanks driving onto my tank too when I’m in the hanger
I "love" those fire/smoke lines in naval rb, like some death-star laser, or a suuuuuper sonic jet just flew by :D

I have to say that I'm glad I left the game, even BRs that I used to enjoy are now being ruined by bs premium tanks like M-51. It is so good to have medium tanks with 400MM heat pen at 6.0, it is really healthy for the game. In next patch I expect they are gonna add another medium/light tank with HEATFS and stabilizer :) fuck this game and fuck gaijin :)

Literally the same thing of m36 and m4 sa50. M51 is not like soviet 152mm doom canon or Tiger BS angling.
One issue I had in the days just after the update went live is that wait times for ground matches were ridiculously long since everyone seemed to be playing the new IAF faction.

Pretty sure the lackluster pen on the m51 is based on how its muzzle speed is lower then the amx 30 so it has worse angles when the heat detonates
On the topic of exhaust in thermals, gaijin said its an intentional change so that's good
The new Air EC maps in RB are fantastic. Really nice change of pace for top tier. Hopefully players will learn situational awareness while in this maps, cos most of my kills in them are just people not paying attention.

Concerning dozer blades, I tried them several times and given the right circumstances they can be effective. But as long as they are bugged af and you keep bumping around in your pit and you have no chance to hit a shot, they are useless.
