I just bought it as my first “expensive” watch… I bought the “Ventura Blue” with the suede band like the Blue Suede Shoes just bought it about 2 weeks ago and love it
I have loved this watch since the smiling Elvis was all dressed up in his uniform. This watch was introduced the year I was born, the IGY, 1957. So cool.
Nice review. I've had my Ventura for about 30 years. It is good to see the case back is now held down by screws. Mine has a snap on case back and it is easy to open but hard to close. It is a favorite and a real conversation starter.
I absolutely LOVE this watch and will have purchased this exact model before finishing this comment. My favorite types of aesthetics/design are classic American Art Deco and/or Mid-Century Modernist. If there is a difference between these(forgive me-I'm not formally educated in this subject-but I know what I like), the Hamilton Ventura falls comfortably into the latter, mid-century modern. The clean, distinctive lines inspired by the technology of the Space Race following WW2 are wonderfully pleasing to the eyes and seem to capture the optimism of the era. This particular watch reminds me of a gas station in my once small, provincial Tennessee town whose architecture was pure 1950s Modernist. It was simply named, Mars and utilized the colors, red & white with a roof in the same, rounded-corner triangle shape of the Ventura. My Mars gas station even had a large glass & chrome light fixture inside the lobby area which resembled the hour markers of the Ventura's dial. Forgive my nostalgia but, I'm already looking forward to wearing my Ventura to car shows in my 1971 Malibu 350 Chevelle convertible, Sunflower Yellow w/black top & interior. The black & chrome of the Ventura will match up well with my old girl. The Chevelle was my very first car. Bought her in 1985 at 15yrs old, built a strong 350cu. inch V8, kept the original Sunflower color and have been driving her ever since. Fine automobiles and watches just go well together. Thank you again, Mr. Baldassarre for another outstanding video.
This is my favorite watch , I’ve been wearing the limited edition , that has lime markers as opposed to circle . I found this watch the diameter from left to right has increased with the newer models giving it a bit less rectangular shape :)
Nice review. I was deciding between the Ventura and the PSR. The PSR was the one I went with. The PSR has in my opinion a much more interesting history and is more useable as an every day kinda watch.
Thank you thank you thank you. For reviewing this i was requesting for this video and thank you so much for taking care of my request. You are now my most favorite youtuber and also the watch reviewer.
Would love to see a side-by-side of this one and the black Ventrura Open Heart Auto. Been dying to see how they compare size-wise and on the wrist. Wish we had a Hamilton dealer in St. Louis.
I love this watch! It was my first special watch! It goes with everything! because its both fun and also formal! great video, I was waiting for this! it goes well on my small wrist , it sounds big on paper, but it wears petite id say
How come photos online for that exact model number has the label "Swiss Made" and some don't? It's beautiful and I'd love to purchase it but some places have that label and some are missing it in the black dial.
Old school cool. Love my Elvis special edition on the bracelet, and the movement in mine is freakishly accurate (within two seconds a year!). Thanks Teddy!
I have recently purchased a Hamilton venture watch but I believe they have sent me the ladies watch what are the men's watch dimensions please regards Jason.
You can find this watch cheaper at any authorized dealer including department stores. Just ask for at least 15 percent off. There's also gray market if you don't care about the warranty. Not sure why anyone would pay full retail for this.
your cinematography the team is very splendid while showing the glmipse of the watch i can see the scratches at the 3 o clock position on the case not exaclty 3 o clock but bit downwards between 4 and 3 o clock
Still waiting for them to make it thinner to wear under a cuff, and articulated lugs/integrated strap. Sapphire crystal and screw down crown wouldn’t hurt. Cash in hand burning for that day they do it.
What warrants a quartz watch to be $800? Aren't quartz watches less laborious to make than mechanical? I love this watch and understand history is priced into it, but sometimes I don't understand other expensive quartz pricings.
Personally I think it's a huge shame that Hamilton don't do a mechanical version that looks the same as the quartz version. I know that they DO make a mechanical, but it's a different case shape / design that just isn't the 'Men in Black' watch!
I wish they put saphire crystal and date window, i think this is a timeless design , its just too bad undrr hamilton line, supposedly rrleased by high end brands, this watch could cost like vacheron
Hamilton issued a commemoritive Elvis edition with a stainless steel expandable bracelet in 2012, ( not the XXL but this Ventura) which in my opinion looks far better than the black leather one, just saying..
@@12801270able FYI - The reviewer never stated that this watch was the 'first quartz watch'. He did, however, correctly state that it was the first 'battery operated' watch. Yeah, details and facts do matter, obviously. Please review the video again lest you're mistaken as a 'journalist' from MSM...you certainly wouldn't want to be labelled a propagator of lies
This was my first "expensive" watch I ever bought 20+ plus years ago, still love it. I now own 4 Hamilton's.
Must have been pretty reliable over years
@@hhh-mq8yx It has been, never had an issue, just battery changes.

This watch is a must for my collection such a amazing story behind it and the look is 10/10. This watch is class
I got a Ventura quartz
from my parents for getting my master’s. I first saw it in Men In Black, and it’s my dream watch. It’s such a gorgeous design.
I have loved this watch since the smiling Elvis was all dressed up in his uniform. This watch was introduced the year I was born, the IGY, 1957. So cool.
I've been lusting after this watch after seeing it in Men in Black in the third grade. Rod Sterling also wore it.
IMO one the most stunning and timeless pieces ever made..

Thank you for each video. Through you I’ve bought my first automatic watch ( Hamilton liberty)

Ventura: a work of art that can be dressed.
The triangular waveform on the dial is also the electronic symbol for a resistor. Just an FYI

Hey can still buy the Ventura
@@randymarsh3677 Yes you sure can
My dads looking at this one. Might get myself a Hamilton watch as well. Just now I can't buy this one 😂
People seem to enjoy seeing the Ventura. I love the era and the vibe.

I own and still wear my 40th anniversary Ventura which the specs just gold plated I believe 14k gold. Love it I really want one from 57!
I remember the first time I saw one. It is a beautiful piece.
I have the Ventura automatic model H24515591 it’s a great watch. My first automatic watch.
Great review. I've been looking at this one for a while -- I'm now convinced! 👍
is the watch still good after a year?
I definitely want one. I have been a fan of it since I saw it in MIB.
There was a denim variant a few years back I wanted but didn't have the money for. But I'm a sucker for the oddball watches
How come photos online for that exact model number has the label "Swiss Made" and some don't? It's beautiful and I'd love to purchase it but some places have that label and some are missing it in the black dial.
Love this watch. Request: Can you talk about the rise and fall of Oakley watches?
So I have one that is old and I believe is about 5-6yrs old is it worth sending to repair or should I get a new one?
If this had a sapphire crystal I would already own it. Iconic watch but kinda weird the rest of the lineup gets the upgrade
This watch reminds me of Ultraman Gaia and Agul transformation devices.
Old school cool. Love my Elvis special edition on the bracelet, and the movement in mine is freakishly accurate (within two seconds a year!). Thanks Teddy!
I've been thinking about one of these watches. A little pricey for a quartz though.
Unorthodox, not for everybody, awkward.
Brilliant!
I have recently purchased a Hamilton venture watch but I believe they have sent me the ladies watch what are the men's watch dimensions please regards Jason.
Timeless design.
Love the design.
i really want one of these, wish it was sapphire glass
I just purchased the Ventura stainless steel flex band to replace the leather strap I hope it fit, its 18 mm at the housing
Is the watch still good after 7 months?
@@polipoms yes it is, why do you ask that?
Elvis Presley war Hamilton Ventura watches personally in his life and just happened to wear one in the movie blue Hawaii but he owned a few

A masterpiece ✨️
Why didn't they bring back the Pacermatic in standard case? I'd buy one in a second! (Automatic, same case style)
Is it me or the second hand does not hit the markers properly?
your cinematography the team is very splendid while showing the glmipse of the watch i can see the scratches at the 3 o clock position on the case not exaclty 3 o clock but bit downwards between 4 and 3 o clock

My favorite Nomos

Nice! Is this the MIB watch?
Yes, it is.

He said it multiple times in the video goofball
Also in DEXTER and MAD MEN. Also owned by Rod Serling, Creator of The Tw😂ilight Zone !
I have the automatic version of this and it's one of my favorite watches in my collection. It was as gift from my wife!
I bought this watch just because I love Elvis so much ❤
Why do some of these venturas say swiss made and some dont even if They're both quartz and has the same leather band?

Mineral Crystal? Thought it was Sapphire
I want one, but the price has left the building.
Have one. On mine, the battery only lasts about a year.
Do you still have it? Is it still good?
Let’s be honest , do more people know it for being on the wrist of Elvis as they do so for being on agent K or Js wrists? 🕶 👽
i wasnt aware that Elvis was the main legend for the getting famous of this icon. I thought it was alone Mib

It was a bust for me at mineral crystal. It's super unique, cool, but that custom crystal...should have been sapphire for longevity.
That was a let down at the price point... I still love it though!
Because of the shape. It´s not easy to make a sapphire in this shape.
@@MrPleers For sure, I'm just too rough with my watches for mineral crystal!
No shappire? Damn
Discussing "oscillations" and hertz is inane. Just tell me how many times the seconds hand ticks per second.

proud to have an original
Would only go for an automatic.
i thought that the worlds first quartz watch was launched On 25 December 1969, when Seiko unveiled the Astron???!!!!

Looks like it needs a really big wrist to sit properly. A love it or loathe it piece.
I love the watch, but that wing span sizes me out.
Best looking watch face ever in my opinion. However, I can't handle the guady wings that extend from it. It ruins it for me. 🤕
ELVIS!!!!!!!!
That's just too hunka, hunka big. I don't remember it looking so large in the Elvis photos.
Toujours super ! je pense que je vais craquer sur ce modele (tout en l'essayant en vrai..; (poignet 6,5 )Jacques youtube " une vie musicien"; France.
Cannot stand how the second hand doesn't accurately hit the markers - not acceptable, given that it's a little pricey for a quartz.
Iconic? My bar for being iconic is somehow higher. Would be interesting discussion how “iconic” could be defined for watches
1000 dollars... for quartz ... outch
How much do quartz grand seiko cost?
