Please keep in mind this video is from last year (July/August 2016), I thought I either accidentally deleted this footage or I lost it but recently found it on a hard drive and thought I would edit and upload the video I wanted to post last year better late then never right? Also keep in mind this was Kitana's First and Last litter she was desexed/spayed Last December (2016) and Dash the father of the puppies was also desexed/neutered on the same day so they will not be having anymore puppies. The puppies were born in winter so we need to keep them closer together to make sure they could keep warm together and also Kitana doesn't like big spaces so we made her whelping area smaller when the puppies were born, the gate was opened all the time ( we had something holding the gate open at all times so she could come in and out as she pleased, the only time it was locked was when Dash was around which wasn't often as Kitana was over protective of the puppies. With her place being smaller she only really spent 1 hour or so in there usually to keep her puppies warm, feed them and spend some time with them, sometimes the puppies would be in a smaller box to all keep warm together and give mama bear some space plus she had regular breaks outside to pee/poo and spend some time with Dash alone and not around the puppies and feeding breaks as she was fed 3-4 times a day. Dash was not allowed near the puppies to play with them until 6 weeks as Kitana was an over protective mama bear. By the time the puppies were 2 weeks old Kitana refused to sleep inside at night as she hated it and would go outside to sleep knowing I can keep her puppies safe at night so she would come inside every 2-3 hours to check on them and feed/clean them and when she was done want to go straight outside. If you have any question please feel free to ask and don't assume I don't love my dogs as they mean everything to me and I love them as much as my human babies (of course my human babies comes first) but they are like my human babies and appreciate all the love they bring our family we kept 2 puppies from her little Letty who was first born who has a white fur mark around her neck and Mileena who was 7th born and she has a white diamond shape first mark on her back. All the other puppies were rehomed at 8 weeks and we keep in contact with all their owners and regularly hear from them as well as here for support for them and they went to families who made sure they did research to make sure they knew that a husky can be hard work or families who have experience with huskies.

Excuse me for my ignorance as I don't know much about dogs in general, lol, but does mama have enough nipples to feed each puppy at the same time? They just look so crowded like that together. Lol but it's cute though. Do they have to fight for a spot to get milk? Lol... I love the video ,somehow it's so soothing for me to watch mama and her pups.
Hi When dogs get pregnant the max amount of puppies they can have will depend on how many nipples a dog has, Before Kitana got pregnant she had 8 nipples and during her pregnancy she GREW 2 extra nipples, Yep you heard me correctly they grow extra nipples to compensate for more puppies lol, the nipples closer to the bottom (closer to her tale) have more milk, as you keep going higher there is lesser milk so when I would help her latch her puppies on I would try putting the fatter puppies on nipples that were higher and the skinner ones on the lower nipples as they finish feeding I Would bring the puppies to the lower nipples to finish their feeding. 8/10 nipples had more milk the 2 she grew had milk but not as much as the ones she already had since birth (the new ones were right on top) so we kept switching them to help with feeding. She had too many puppies when she gave birth I thought she would have 5-6 puppies max 8 and she surprised me with 10 lol so they look over crowed. We had to make Kitana's whelping box smaller so it might look like they are more over crowed for that reason too as the puppies were crawling everywhere and getting cloud because they were staying together the puppies were born in winter and it gets really cold here and Kitana wasn't a big fan of the bigger space, we also got a heated bed to help and when we made the room smaller it helped her so much compared to the bigger space. I love this video too I have watch it about 15 times while editing makes me miss all the puppies and can't stop smiling haha. They're so pink, they look almost florescent.
They are super adorable. There are some brown Siberians that have a sort of plum color on the babies nose and around the tip of the muzzle and that's super cute! They fade by the time adulthood comes.

^ they’re right it is the filter. But also puppies have very pink skin when born :)) mainly ones with white fur ( as these guys snouts and feet are white ). Shows great blood flow!
That and the hair around those parts is pretty thin when newborn.

Siberian huskies are amazing dogs. I have one (Kia), as well as an akita (Kuro) and an Australian shepherd (Star), who has five puppies that are a week old now. She was preggers when I got her from the shelter but I plan on spaying her as soon as she is ready. Names for the pups:

Yepp from Australia, I hate how people think I am cruel when as soon as they turned 8 weeks old, we kept 2 of them and they no longer needed to be in a play pen and were free to be where they like, our mama bear and papa bear are 5 now and the 2 pups we kept turned 3 last July. We have heaps of videos of their life growing up

My dog named Kuttie also had puppies this October 31, 2017, she had 8 beautiful pups but unfortunately she lost one pup on November 2,2017 that I named Chance, he was the smallest/runt out the litter and looked exactly like her mom. My mother and I did everything to try and save Chance but in the end he passed in my mothers arms, we were heart broken but it hit me the most and as of today there is not a day that I don't think of him, but I have comfort that he will never ever have to experience all the bad and cruel things this world has and that he will forever be happy up in heaven with the other good dogs until we all meet them again at the rainbow golden pearly gates. Sorry about Jelly Bean i'm sure he would have been the most happiest dog in the world but at least he is up there playing with Chance and all the other dogs till the day we are all together again.

hard to tell look for signs when she starts pushing I missed the 1st puppy being born I was giving my son a shower and check on her and there was a puppy

I admire you having a young family and taking on a litter of huskies! I love them too - I had one from a litter and 3 rescued adults. Most wonderful pets I ever had. I'd like to commend you too on finding homes with husky experience. You sound like a very responsible animal lover. I don't think most people know how active and how much work huskies are - but worth every aggravation aren't they!!!

My Huskie is going to be 1yrs old in 2 weeks and already I can't stop him from wanting to walk, run, run, run or run. I walk him 4 times a day and it does nothing to slow him down. I make him run with dogs in a very large dog Parc for 30 minutes 2X a day and it doesn't slow him down so I built a gizmo that makes him pull 40lbs when we walk, it's a joke, it doesn't make him tired at all, not in 45 minutes anyway. All of this on 1/3 of the recommended amount of daily food intake based on the bags instructions. I went to the Vet again and he told me not to worry, he will eat when he's hungry and that it's normal for Huskies to have a lot of energy. Alright, I understand "a lot of energy" but this is a almost mathematically impossible amount of energy. He gets his energy from dog food and 50mg of turkey or chicken, that's it. He drinks like a gallon a day. Does anyone have any tips for me? I work from home and I have 8 free hours a day every day and I am with my dog 24/7 . I have a fenced yard and he spends about 5 minutes every hour outside. That's all the info I can think of. Thanks if you can help, thank you big time.

That made me laugh so hard when the dad came in and was so excited to see the puppies, and wanted to play with them! And then the face of the mom was like -"yeah, he's one of my children too"! It was almost like when human dad's have to wait for the kids to get bigger before they can play with them, and is very excited to finally be able to! LOL

They are born pink and get their pigmentations around 2-3 weeks usually by 8 weeks their noses get all the pigmentations
