This is exactly what I was looking for. I need to make a contour waist band because my hip bones and ribs are only 1" apart. Not enough room for a straight waist band at my waist. Thank you!

Hi Natalie, actually the waistband is your waist circumference. And skirts or pants waist is 1/2" bigger than your waist. That way, a little bit of ease make fit greater.
Thank you for a clear instruction video. Just to be clear, in case of facing where you have the front on the fold, if i have a , zipper in front i would just treat it like the back facing, cut two and add seam allowance for zipper, correct?
You dont have to. I just showed you the case if you want to have the top waistband at your waist. If you don't lower the pant and make 1" width waistband, then the top of the waistband will sit higher than your actual waist.
