This has been such an interesting series. I've my skirt all cut out and have just been waiting for waistbands, so I can go ahead now and finish it. Thank you.

Happy sewing! Why not share your finished skirt with our community on Minerva.com when it's finished?

This dropped at exactly the right time. I’ve been using my block from the first parts of this series and an old skirt that is really flattering on my figure to draft my own version of it. Yesterday, I just used the faced waistband to make a shaped waistband pattern but it looks like that wasn’t the best way to do it, so will redraw this today. My next challenge is making flared panels and adding godets to them! Thank you so much for this series. I love being able to fit to me rather than spending days making up a commercial pattern that then doesn’t fit or suit me. I’d love it if you did a trouser block next!

This a great tutorial! I have been sewing for quite awhile but I seem to have so much trouble getting the wristband fitted nicely. I prefer a curved waistband instead of a thin 1 or 1.5 as I am slightly swaybacked, and I end up getting a little gap in the center back. I can’t wait to try this method. You are an awesome instructor and I love to her your cool British accent! Thanks

Oh I forgot. You did not mention interfacing for the inside piece. I am curious as to why.

Can You do this also with a already bought pattern wich You don’t like the straight waistband and prefer the curved waistband?
