    Thanks. Glad you like it.
    I took part in designing the mechanical stuff on it and the Resound 1 too.
    Resound 1 has a sealing around receiver connector and a sealing element under the top cover protecting the electronics from getting wet. Call it over engineered, but it was actually properly water tight.
    The Nexus isn't. The sealing element under the top cover has been removed to make it smaller in size.
    It may be weather resistant and able to resist being submerged in water for 30 minutes. But that is under ideal test conditions. Don't go swimming with it water will enter into it.

    I have the Micro RIE version and it is a game changer. I heard the equivalent of "Seeing the Light" when i tried them for the 1st time.

    I have the Nexia. The only issue I have of hearing the TV or any sound, is the lack of bass. That is why I listen to the TV with a Bluetooth around the ear headphones. I hear all the base.

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  Месяц назад

      Great observation. The bass is weak when streaming from the Nexia. I almost always create a "music" program for my patients with the bass turned way up. I will then tell my patients that if they need more bass, to go into the app and turn it up more (and even decrease the treble). The other option is to ask your audiologist for larger, more occluding, ear buds. The more your ear is plugged, the better you'll hear the bass. You may not like that for everyday use, but it's great with music. Hope that helps!

    How does it compare to Signia Pure 7X Ch&Go? Does it reach 12kHz?

    That bass being omnidirectional, is hardly news, considering the long wavelengths, there is just no other options.. and will never be.

    Is the battery audiologist-replaceable? If not, is that a major downside to consider? My audiologist is recommending Nexia BiCROS for my SSD. Great review, thanks!

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  4 месяца назад +1

      No, the battery is not replaceable by the audiologist. It needs to be sent to the manufacturer to replace it. My understanding is that they break the water resistant seal when they replace the battery and it must be resealed by the manufacturer.
      Fortunately, though, our experience is that these batteries last for about 4 years. So it may need to be replaced one time in the life of the hearing aid.

    First off...Thanks for the review! I'd be happy to give feedback , when can I start, .. Really though, I've worn resound customs for over 10 years now, and I have been "mostly" satisfied with their devices, I'm ready to upgrade now, as the ones I'm wearing are now 4 years in use

      Unfortunately there is no current cure for sensorineural hearing loss. Hearing aids are your best bet

    good aids with huge problem. The aids disconnect when the mfi app is not on your iPhone screen. The minute I open another app, the aids disconnect. when I go back to the app it takes 10-15 seconds for them to reconnect to the app. This is not happening with any other side app for iPhone. So frustrating!!!

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  8 месяцев назад

      I'm sorry you're having connectivity issues. That can be very frustrating, and we've certainly seen some of that with our patients, but more commonly with our Android patients. You may want to check to make sure your phone has the latest iOS and with your audiologist to see if your hearing aids have a firmware update. Hope that helps!

    I'm wondering whether the microRIE in ReSound Nexia is significantly improved for localization compared to the ReSound ONE with M&RIE?

    ok, you guys talked about LE Audio, cool. How about sound quality in noise environment?

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hearing in noise is always one of the most challenging listening environments. The new Nexia products use a directional microphone system called a "beam former" to zero in on voices when in background noise. They are some of the very best hearing aids for noisy situations

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, this device works well for most hearing losses. Price will vary depending on the service that is included, the level of technology, and also the part of the world where you live. You could expect anywhere from $1400-$4000 per hearing aid

    Do these work equally well with Android phones, like the Samsung phones, as they do with Apple phones?

    • @meric12131415
      @meric12131415 10 месяцев назад

      Well almost with this one least you don't need a intermediary device around your neck for this one although I'm not too sure if the tap control works on android for the resounds also on that note the asha protocol is definitely no good

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  8 месяцев назад

      These devices work with many Android phones. For a comprehensive list of compatible phones, check here: pro.resound.com/en-au/products/compatibility
      My experience is that the connection is often not as stable with Android phones as it is with Apple phones

    How much?

    • @hearingandbalancedoctors
      @hearingandbalancedoctors  Месяц назад

      Price varies based on the technology level (the Nexia comes in a 5, 7, and 9 model) and the services associated with getting the device (many clinics bundle in the cost of follow up visits, future maintenance visits, etc). In general, you could be seeing price anywhere from $3200 for a Nexia 5 to $8000 for a Nexia 9 based on these factors. Hope that helps!
