    I agree it's good to see this show again. I enjoyed it on PBS when it was an ensemble cast with Sarah, Lucinda, John, etc. I'm glad Sarah & the show is back. I'll take that chicken over Popeye or KFC!

    I love this recipe, it tastes great! I have found that chicken doesn't evenly brown if there is too much buttermilk left on the meat. Also browns unevenly if you put paprika in the flour (this recipe didn't call 4 it, that's just my obervation/experience).

    Looks good and looks like a wonderful recipe! :) If I used buttermilk though I use it only for tenderizing and flavoring the inside of the chicken. I rinse all of it off before I fry and use another trick for added crunch. Thank you for sharing! :)

    I just made this, or tried to. The chicken is in the oven. I could only fry it for 4 minutes on each side so it wouldn't burn and so am now baking it to get it to a safe temperature inside. This is not a complaint but just to let any others who can't master this that they are not alone. I did try to keep the oil at 350 but it got as high as 365 and as low as 320 while trying to get it to 350 while frying. The crust looks amazing.

    Was that a bottle of extra virgin olive oil that was used for the frying?? That's different. Not an oil I would use when cooking chicken.

    i want to try this one but pretty hard to find buttermilk around my town, is that ok if i substitute the buttermilk with thick coconut milk? i think those two has the same texture and same savory-ness, don't u think? or probably that's a horrible idea idk.....

      For every cup of milk take one tablespoon out and replace it with a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then use.

    How many pounds of chicken was that? Or how many pieces of chicken did. You use and what chicken part did you use.

    Tofu contains liquid thats why oil splatters when fried. what you can do is drain it on paper towel.

  • @Zipfei_Kloatscher
    @Zipfei_Kloatscher 6 лет назад

    Haha, has Thomas Joseph just used one of your drums as a bad example for making fried chicken??... Btw: Double dip AND double dredge for a nice crunch. You can see the meat and the bones shine through the mediocre coating...
