Accident While Building The Harbor Freight Off-Road Teardrop Trailer...

- Molly had an unfortunate accident while placing the teardrop camper back onto the harbor freight trailer. The dolly ended up collapsing onto her fingers trapping her hand briefly under the full weight of the camper. She is a trooper and thankfully appears to have escaped with heavy bruising and a minor cut. The shell of the teardrop is getting completely sealed in this video! We are covering pretty much every seam with epoxy and fiberglass, so we will be SHOCKED if any water gets inside. The camper doors are also getting finished/sealed and we are on the way to getting some color on this teardrop camper!

Molly deserves a nice dinner and flowers because she got injured. Trailer looks great so far
Hahah all an accident🙃
Holy smokes, that is an ouchie. I appreciate you pushing through Molly.
The design is pretty amazing. The conservation of materials, and the supportive nature of the the pieces working in combination to supporting each other. Thanks for this weeks update and take care. - Cheers
Thank you! Molly is one tough cookie
Coming together my friend. When my wife and I built our off-road teardrop we rapped the entire camper in the 6oz cloth from Total Boat and that stuff is amazing!! Keep up the awesome work young man, you and Molly are doing an amazing job!!
Your skill and craftsmanship, for a young man, is amazing. Great work to you and your wife!
Thank you Anthony:)
Piping bag is what you were looking for with the epoxy. I love this build!
Yup!
More 👍 you lot, it doesn't cost you anything and helps out the kids.🇦🇺👍
that was hard to watch - i feel your pain! great job with the build... jt
Ouch!! Molly hopefully you are okay. You are tough!!!
This is such an impressive project. Your design and preparations are thoughtful and well executed. Best of luck on the home stretch. It’s going to be great.
Molly deserves a spa day now 😊
Just a safty tip
When the trailer body was on the ground place an 8 ft 2x4 front and back under the body then the jack stands can be put on the ends of the 2x4 this gives more room to just role the trailer under the body
Hope I explained this right 😊
Just an idea, on top of the door ways you can add a little rain channel so that water redirects and makes it a bit better dealing with the water. Kind of like how a Jeep wrangler JLU has on its hard top
After rebuilding, owning,& using several sailboats, I would urge you to glass the entire exterior. It will be much more durable , and more importantly waterproof. Also coat the galley, with epoxy to waterproof it. Dan S.
Trailer is coming along nicely! Can't wait for the next video!
Man that hurt just looking at it.....hope ur ok molly......teardrop looks great ....awesome to see it on the trailer gives a glimpse as a whole unit......great work
All good now, it is a bit swollen/bruised but seems to be ok. Thanks for watching:)
Loving this build! Hope Molly is OK!
It looks like everything is going great. You guys have done a great job.
Thanks for watching Louis!
Great job so far.
Looking amazing can’t wait to see it finished
I hope your fingers are ok. Looks like a good build guys. I have a question. With the doors being so large, and so thick, will there be an issue with the hinges and attached to the camper?
Great Video!
You Two Are Doing A Great Job Love It Makes Me Want To Build One My Self 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
Oh man, I hope Mollie is doing ok. She is one tough girl to push on through. When I saw it happen, I felt her pain as I lost a portion of my left ring finger in a pinch point and it's no fun for sure
IFIXIT- You need to install the "Woodbrew" CNC'ed logo on the front of this teardrop small RV.
Your trailer is truly a work of art and craftsmanship. However, having pulled many trailers for many years I just don't see the wood fenders standing up to the rocks, grit, and sandblasting from the tyres without a sheet metal liner on the underside.
How much smell does the fiberglassing process create? I noticed that you avoided PPE for everything but solvents. (acetone?) Oh, I wanted to add that you can put a couple of $4 HFT motorcycle cargo nets over the kitchen hatch openings for some extra lightweight storage. I hope Molly's finners healed up quickly. I could almost feel it from Oregon when I saw that happen.
I love your attention to detail. I am new to the channel and have been watching this build series. In your planning stages and and your running of wires did you happen to run wires for your trailer lights? Do you plan on mounting lights on the Tear Drop itself? The flatbed would have only required lights around its parameter but the camper will most likely require marker lights on the front, rear and corners near the top of the camper. Hoping to mention this to you before the final finishing touches get completed. Great Job on the design so far! Keep up the good work. FYI, I look forward to going back and watching you earlier video's as well.
Yep! Got all the cutout for those ready to go!
It's called a "piping bag" when it's used for icing a cake 😁.
Really appreciated the detailed walkthrough, but then again, I'm an engineer so details are delightful.
OUCH!! That hurt just watching it. Hope Molly's finger is ok. Camper looks great. So strong. Are you going to do a cost breakdown when you're through?
Thank you! And we probably will do a cost breakdown 😊
coming together nicely. one thought on the fenders. if you did raise the camper to sit above the tires you could use the extra height to fit external drawers for storage. check out Paul Jackmans teardrop build for what I'm saying. thanks for the video.
Very true!
One can say, you guys are…crushing it!
Thank you😊... and lol🤣
What is the size of the trailer? How heavy do you anticipate this to be?
The camper’s looking good & it’s not even complete 😎
Poor Molly, sometimes the wood bites back :P I'm glad nothing was broken though. Sounds like just a lot of pain :( Nice job on the camper so far though. Just out of curiosity, do you have an idea on how much money you have spent on epoxy alone? It looks like you have had to use soooo much :P Sometimes, I find the little things can add up to more than you thought they would. Everything is looking great so far though. Have a great week :)
We will most likely do a cost breakdown at the end!
@@Woodbrew Awesome. it will be interesting to see the varied costs. Thanks :)
When putting the camper on the trailer; use your saw horses on the sides whith 2x4s on them. Then you can position the trailer under the camper, and pull 2x4s. Don't have to fight the camper and trailer at the same time.
Thanks for reminding me to subscribe.
Does that have amine blush, so should be washed off with soap water then next coat?
It was cleaned with an epoxy cleaner, however it doesn't blush either.
curios why you did not use your tractor to put the box back on the trailer? Looking very cool though. Glad your wife did not sustain a very bad injury although it looked painful.
I’m like # 1000. And a new subscriber. Great content
I hope Mrs Woodbrew is ok. Y’all need to make a canoe to carry on the trailer next.
I want one
So when do you begin your boat build? (hint)
Hahaha don’t get him started! 😅
Not a good idea to use the brush to mix epoxy, hardener and silica. Tongue depressor’s work well and mixing sticks from WEST System are re-usable and works best.
Coming along nicely y'all! 😃👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻 ..... 🩹
Thank you!
it would be a good idea to add a gutter over the door to divert rain from running into the door joint
Yes! This is a great idea and is on the to-do list😁
Molly is officially a mechanic, she got her fingers hurt. Now put grease on her forehead. Lol.
I hope Molly's smashed fingers are ok.
They are, thank you!
Look into foamies. Don't have to worry about water in your plywood. My 4'x8' come in at 375lbs. Better on fingers...
"It's just a flesh wound" lol jk, that'll boost yer street creds young lady. Dang for a young fella, y'all have some mad skills, especially when she looks at you like when I look at tacos, promising future making canoes & boats too...
I wonder if you could buy a giant 3d printer and make one of these out of thick plastic.
10:08 please keep your left hand out of there.
I hope she did not fracture the finger!
How to convert a 499 harbor freight trailer .Dump another 5k and make sure you have another 5k on tools and know how to weld also hope you have alot of free time to do this . Or you can go buy a new one for about the same money lol .
Looks awful heavy.
95% a people know how to thumbs-up And subscribe to your channel.
It's incredibly annoying to start watching and the first thing you talk about if subscribing I'm leaving a thumbs up.
I did not hit the video to learn how to subscribe and hit the thumbs-up button. 🤦🤦🤦
.......................poor finger🥰
nice work, careful with that epoxy, breathing that shit is toxic as hell. I can’t be near it anymore.
