RUclips views anything good about china as fake news and the algorithm is programmed to suppress any china related videos that are considered good and spread anything negative.
So even in such wild areas, there are still such well-maintained roads, charging stations and battery swapping stations. China's infrastructure construction capabilities are astonishing.
Urge you to watch western media. This channel are all edited on a green screen with all fake buildings, fake bridges, even a fake car. This all happened on a studio somewhere in China.
I have to say Elliot, I am completely enjoying these travel videos. Not that there is anything wrong with your EV review vids, it's just that you're introducing so much of China I did not know. Thanks.
I really appreciate the way Elliot makes his videos-it’s like chatting with a friend on a road trip. They have such a relaxing and soothing vibe, so much better than some overrated channels like CarWow, where a 50-year-old man jumps around like a toddler trying to sell overpriced, outdated models from legacy automakers.
I absolutely loved this video. Not sure why. It was a proper feel good video like the good old days. No politics, no hard sell just entertainment and information. PS love the car (although I would prefer the Nio ET5).
Well darn. You’ve beaten me to it! Really wanted to do the Silk Road using an EV, and I have to say, NIO would be my preferred brand of choice to do it in!! Looks beautiful 🤩
Wow! Amazing trip and fascinating to get an insight into rural China, as well as battery swapping. Love the creative footage, as well as your commitment to putting in the kilometres to explore back roads.
Hi Elliot, I'm an Australian travelling round China, i have been here for 4 months and intend to stay much longer. The reason I came to China is because I'm an electric vehicle enthusiast ,I was planning on only stay 1 month but I'm still here 4 months later Anyway I was wondering if you would like to meet up ,have coffee or lunch, I've been to Shanghai a number of times now and are currently in Nanjing. Just send me a message if you would like to meet
You should do a fully charged video on China's HVDC power lines that take the green energy from way out in the wilderness back to the big cities with much less loss of power than traditional lines. China built Brazil's lines as well. Would be super interesting.
Thanks Elliot for sharing your beautiful video. I love the scenery, and places you visited there. I hope I have a chance to visit there in the future. Go Nio!!
What a lovely idea. I've seen a video like this before, a travelogue where the car is omnipresent in the background, and it works so well. What a wonderful route you chose.
Do a battery swap! didnt expect to hear that before a roadtrip though the idea of swapping a smaller pack for a larger one is awesome. I have been to the Grand Canyon in the USA Awe inspiring, now i want to visit that grand canyon!
You really couldn't have chosen a better time of year to do this roadtrip, especially as someone interested in photography. All of those landscape shots minus the interruption of hoards of tourists spoiling the photos. Makes me wonder what else China has to offer in the off-season.
Battery swap stations would be a big boon in the US, Tesla once showed a video on this years ago, a lot of people thought it would be a thing by now but, that plan was shelved. Under 5 minutes to have an almost fully (90% charged is what I’ve seen folks post about the replacement battery) charged unit to continue your journey. However, at the rate battery tech is going, by 2030 range and charge time should be greatly improved. Great video.
Just out of curiosity, after leaving the first stop in the trip, the car driving along past the green upright pole things in the background, the road picture looks like background prop, like the car is not really on the road. It looked fake. Is that the case? 6:17-19 minutes in. The rest is fine.
You're right. If you look closely around the tires, you can clearly see that some sort of masking has been done here. Watch it at 0.25 speed and it is clear as day. But I wonder why he did it though?
@@anundo Not sure why somebody would do that. It could just be an editing error. It is noticeable though. Still, overall it doesn’t detract from how good the video is. I just noted it as an observation.
Starting to understand why the Chinese are bankrupting the old dogs. Mini battery swapping stations are what the EV market trully needs. What an amazing idea! And what a good looking car that Nio is!
@@jimmyh6601that was a genuine question, not a criticism. Yes, Eliot, what does it cost in comparison with purely charging the battery? Obviously it’s faster than waiting on the battery charging…
The cars have different packages, you can get a set number of swaps for no charge per month, you can just pay per swap or take battery as subscription.
My understanding was you pay for the energy used so if you swap a battery that's still partly full, you get credit for the unused energy in the swapped out battery.
Great great video. But I still don't understand battery swapping, you drove for 4 hours before needing to swap and then stopped again to eat. On the very rare occasion I have to public charge, I rest and eat at the same time as charging. Stopping once. And with cars now coming that charge in 10 mins, plus how many batteries are stored doing nothing in those swap stations, I just don't see it.
I like this video, the Americas think they are so smart in Technology, the first 3 minutes of this video with the battery swap shows you how far behind the Chinese they really are, and probably only to get further with Trump at the reigns, poor America you get whatever is coming for you 😂😂🤣🤣
For NIO to survive, they need to stop wasting money in unnecessary stuffs. Stop the damn phones! Waste of resources and money. Also stop building new lounges till they become profitable.
something deeply wrong with the youtube algorithm, this channel deserves much more subscribers & views
i noticed youtube hide video about china.
Agreed
so I'm not the only one who thinks that way about this RUclips Something is not Right
RUclips views anything good about china as fake news and the algorithm is programmed to suppress any china related videos that are considered good and spread anything negative.
Exactly
So even in such wild areas, there are still such well-maintained roads, charging stations and battery swapping stations. China's infrastructure construction capabilities are astonishing.
keep watching bbc

In such a remote and desolate place, only China can achieve such good infrastructure construction.
Overcapacity😂
@@greggpon746680% of cars produced in Japan are exported, but there is no overcapacity in Japan. Double standards?
The scenery on this trip is absolutely breathtaking. I've only been to Shenzhen in China but I really need to see more of it.
I have to say Elliot, I am completely enjoying these travel videos. Not that there is anything wrong with your EV review vids, it's just that you're introducing so much of China I did not know. Thanks.
Thanks Gavin!
This channel is outrageously underrated. A true hidden gem.
It says something positive about China. If it says China is collapsing, tens of thousands viewers.
This channel is dedicated to introducing Chinese EVs, there is no way it would be recommended by platforms such as RUclips.

Completely right! Elliot is a breath of fresh air
Oh yes! I do love the road-trip videos! - So many places you never knew existed. That canyon treck looked amazing. And so does the Nio ET5t!
I absolutely loved this video. Not sure why. It was a proper feel good video like the good old days. No politics, no hard sell just entertainment and information.
PS love the car (although I would prefer the Nio ET5).
This content is better than any Top Gear episode ❤
Beautiful car and landscape, great stuff El!iot, no wonder the US is terrified of China, US talks alot but China Delivers!
Amazing scenery !!!!! Did not IMAGINE that such beautiful and amazing places exist in China. And have travel a lot in China.
Many thanks for your report on the Nio and the parts of China the rest of us are unlikely to ever see.
Nio and their swap stations would do brilliantly in Aus, for the great Aussie road trip 😊
Well darn. You’ve beaten me to it! Really wanted to do the Silk Road using an EV, and I have to say, NIO would be my preferred brand of choice to do it in!! Looks beautiful 🤩
Another great vlog Elliot! I think you have nailed a format here with the EV review/China travel vlog. Very enjoyable
Wow! Amazing trip and fascinating to get an insight into rural China, as well as battery swapping. Love the creative footage, as well as your commitment to putting in the kilometres to explore back roads.
I love these road trip videos - the showcase of the car is overshadowed only by the stunning scenery of China

wish we get them in Australia i have a B YD Seal it's a great EV but my dream machine is the NIO ET5T
If nio isn't coming to Oz soon then maybe the sea lion 🦭 7 would suit
Wow Elliot!!! So beautiful thank you for taking us on this journey with you.

Up next, Neta S shooting brake range extender review? That is a sharp looking wagon.
come on, we gotta get one of these electric wagons to Australia.

Would have been cool with the 150kWh battery :D
It was very very strange..
“What a strange strange place”

Why the masking at 6:15?
Nice Trip
Finding this video is hard, I wonder what censorship their was
More EV wagons to the Australian market please.
I was looking/searching for nio videos on RUclips and this video never showed up......thx to Reddit /nio I'm here
I firmly believe NIO could upend the North American market.
(and I want a ET5 Touring...)
That's exactly why it will be incredibly hard to get into that market.

How much does it cost to keep getting new batteries
Far less than getting new engines. You know the batteries outlive the car don't you or are you in the pay of an oil company?
@@jimmyh6601that was a genuine question, not a criticism. Yes, Eliot, what does it cost in comparison with purely charging the battery?
