  • Selecting a dead pine wasn't the best choice. It wasn't pretty but I pulled it off.

My question is: why wouldn't you put something under your pot to raise it slightly above the top surface so that the fire burns upward through the middle for a hotter fire under the pot rather than burning out where your air draw is? Just wondering.

I did. The saw cut wasn't level. I put a stick..

I bet that thing would come in handy for shelter building.... I kinda made one with an old drill chuck and some black steel pipe.... I had a guy weld it up for me. I haven’t even had a chance to test it out yet. 🔥🔥🔥👍🏻

      Standing dead tree. Big difference

Just looking at it, one can tell right away this tree is dead. This is why people who are serious about things like hunting, fishing, camping, bushcraft, etc. usually take better care of the land and environment than those who are novices.
