I take it back, this feature is so awesome. You can literally feel the car pivot when making sharp corners i.e. autocrossing or what not, even just daily driving you can feel the car pivoting.
I can definitely feel a difference when turning and cornering. For example I had a Nissan maxima "06" even though its front wheel drive, you have the issue of oversteer at high speeds. (Not a pro racer) I never had a problem except at this curve on 95 that stretched about 1/2 mile. I didn't crash or anything but you can feel when you're pushing it, and where the cars gravity gets lighter in the rear end. Long story short my 06 M35 had the RAS and man I can hold that same curve at 130mph no kidding. You can feel the RAS kick in and it keeps your car tight and stable. It's like all wheel drive but better. I'm in and out of lanes so quickly and sharply. It's an amazing piece of engineering for an 06. And another reason why I LOVE my IM35
I have an 08 M35X and yes you can really take some tight turns and curves at some incredible speeds..if you know what to look for you can actually feel the differentials working a lil extra harder to turn the wheels
I just changed my RWD 06 M35 transmission and discovered it has RAS . This explains why the light showed up on the dash when I was slipping all over the place in a snow storm a few years ago
Thanks for showing us man. I love all of your videos! I have a 2006 M45 and I love it but the transmission has been messing up on me. By any chance do you have special place where you buy all your parts?
Thanks for the support. Depending on the part, I usually just check online. EBay & car-part.com have been good resources for engines & other drivetrains parts
This was my favorite car. I loved mine but with over 320K miles I sold it and got a Lexus GS350 F Sport. I couldn't find any later model M's or Q70's with the V8
@@EdBwoy If I remember correctly I had to have the Power steering belt replaced at that mileage, prior to that I had to replace one of the catalytic converters as I replaced the other one about 2-3 years earlier
damion smith Bro sometimes it’s on Due to low Brake fluid or Camshaft Sensor I had to fill up my m35x with Brake fluid yesterday to turn the lights off On my G35 it was the Camshaft Sensor Bank 1
damion smith Mine is on as well, i definitely have crankshaft Sensor problem so it might be the reason. Check if you have service engine soon light on and if you have a bad or fault sensor replace it or them. If you don’t have any service engine soon light on, it might be brake fluid, coolant etc. anything that have to do with fluid that might be causing the problem according to my research.
My 2006 G35 6MT coupe has RAS/HICAS as well. Do you know if the rear spring buckets are interchangeable between RAS and non-RAS cars? I want to switch over to true coilovers and replace the buckets with rear toe arms.
The spring buckets are slightly different in that the non-sport model joins the subframe with a bushing while the sport model has a ball joint connector. I don't know how much of a difference that makes, but if possible maybe you can press the ball joints into the replacement toe arms
I would go to the dealer or anyone with a capable scanner to tell me the exact code. Then, having narrowed down to what it is, I would proceed to repair or replace the component. I haven't known RAS issues to be common in the Infinitis (except 2011+ M sports) so I wouldn't have a go-to fix

this is the reason why I trust my m35 on wide turns going about 90+ and feel safe and in control
Absolutely! Even if yours isn't a sport model, these cars handle very well. This is just icing on the cake

Great explanation! Thanks for the info.
It's for assisting turning the car going around corners. The preludes back in the day had it also.
Man that’s super cool
Didn’t know that
Excellent explanation thank you for sharing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Wow wowwww woowwwwww this is super cool ... This is the technology we are now seeing on benz and audi
I just got a 08 M45 S thanks so much for your hard work brother its amazing. How can I know if my rear wheel steering is working?
Keep us updated on how ,just remember to stay on top of maintenance especially the oil and the differentials fluid,..what's the mileage on yours

How do you remove RAS,VDC and Slip off Dash In 2006 infiniti M45?
Where is the hicas delete kits for the m45
I need help with this

At 200k, mine is still young. I intend to hold onto it for a while.
Stay safe, enjoy the Lex.
If you don't mind, could you share what kinds of repair and maintenance you had to do by that mileage?
@@EdBwoy If I remember correctly I had to have the Power steering belt replaced at that mileage, prior to that I had to replace one of the catalytic converters as I replaced the other one about 2-3 years earlier
@@stanewill thanks for the insight. I would say that the average cost of maintenance/repairs over the mileage is very good.
I experienced the RAS a few times going around curves
Still one of my favorite features on these. The reason I go for the sport models
thanks for the video very informative, can you talk about the electrical system more

Hmm, ok - Thanks @@EdBwoy!
I’ve always asked my self if the “y34s” come in “S” models as well for I have never seen one
So with the east light on what does it need? My ras light is on idk what for?
Need help!! . What is the bar called thats located behind the rear stearing rack?
Upfront? Sway bar.
What exactly is that thin wires job? Mine has been damaged
So how do you get read of the ras off your dash ?
Another part to repair
How would you fix a ras light on on g35 coupe 06
I would go to the dealer or anyone with a capable scanner to tell me the exact code.
Then, having narrowed down to what it is, I would proceed to repair or replace the component. I haven't known RAS issues to be common in the Infinitis (except 2011+ M sports) so I wouldn't have a go-to fix

Have you driven a similar model without RAS?
@@EdBwoy Nope
I have code c1137 RAS
