Jim, you should definately react to Eloy „Poseidons Creation“ from the album „Ocean“. Much more developed than this and a true masterpiece. There you get a real impression what Eloy is all about.

This is a really lovely song
Proper mushroom prog! Very orthodox prog music, but not literally very progressive. They have some room for development on the vocal department. But speaking of drugs, I have to suggest you, Jim - again :oD - Porcupine Tree's album Voyage 34, which is a concept album of LSD tests in 60's I guess. Four not radio friendly songs, but absolutely great musical journey, which I pretty sure you're going to like!
Another German band you might like is Colour Haze.
Been awhile to sit and listen to Eloy. That was fun exchanging albums with you Jim :). Your child will know the appreciation for good food and eclectic music :D.

i just went on an Eloy kick actually drove 90 minutes on sunday to by the album Floating on vinyl. recommend The light from deep darkness.

I know you get these suggestions all the time, but I’d love it if you reacted to “Angel of my Soul” by Rick Miller. I just recently discovered Rick Miller and I enjoy his music quite a bit. I think you enjoy taking a listen. He has a progressive softish rock sound and the singing is very interesting, in a good way.

I have a suggestion that i’m not sure has come your way as yet but it’s by a Finnish band called Kairon; IRSE! and the song is “Tzar Morei” from their highlight LP “Ujubasajuba”. Bugger me - Eloy! I bought a couple of their records back in the 1980s for the worst of reasons - because of the cover art! I was into fantasy artists' books at the time and Rodney Mathews had done several Eloy covers so I bought Metromania to see what it was all about (try getting to hear obscure music without paying for it in the days before RUclips...). Turned out to be a good 'bad decision' because I liked it and went on to buy Planets and Time To Turn. If you think this one was a bit wishy-washy, then try Time To Turn (title track of the album) or Through A Sombre Galaxy: much sharper and more focussed.

Better lp's are: "Colours" and "Dawn".
Have a listen to the band Grobschnitt with albums: "Rockpommels land" and "Solar music live".
I find them much better than Eloy.
