    If Disney were to ever make a 'true' horror movie, they could easily do one on the numerous abandoned properties in FL.

    • @cannibalisticrequiem
      @cannibalisticrequiem 8 месяцев назад +6

      Eh... I mean, technically they could, but I don't think they will because 1) Disney really doesn't do horror movies like that. They kinda had flukes with "The Black Hole" and "Something Wicked This Way Comes", but generally one of the other studios under the Disney umbrella like Touchstone Pictures, would be more likely to do something like that and 2) Disney is likely not going to let anyone - film studio or otherwise just walk around the premises of one of their abandoned properties, let alone shoot a movie there. It would be far too dangerous what with so much crap scattered on the ground and rusted objects that could give you tetanus, sepsis or other similar deadly illnesses from a scrape, cut, wound, etc that's not treated right away. Doing something like that could easily lead to a massive lawsuit aimed at Disney, and Disney does not want to deal with anything like that.
      Would it be cool? Sure. Would Disney let it happen? Not in a million years! If anything, and I doubt Disney would be willing to pay for any of this, they would build a replica of one of the abandoned properties on a soundstage and shoot there in order to avoid any disasters that could happen from filming on site. But again, that loops back to my point of, Disney doesn't make those kinds of movies so a Touchstone Pictures or New Line Cinema would be the one to do it, and two, they would probably have to get not just the greenlight to make the movie but the funding from Disney to film it, and I don't know if Disney is really willing to give any money to a horror movie production. Their reliable money makers are the parks, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Princess movies and their Disney-Pixar movies, as well as the merchandise from all those brands. I feel like Disney probably doesn't see horror movies as being profitable to the company. (Do we know they could be, especially if they're good? Obviously yes. But Disney being old school, probably not.)

    • @ddcs0s
      @ddcs0s 5 месяцев назад +3

      Abandoned places especially in Florida would create way to much risk to ever use as filming locations ... typically a production will either build a set or take a place that's been taken care of and make it look abandoned

    • @oliviababb4936
      @oliviababb4936 5 месяцев назад

      Putting aside the risk of tetanus/exposure to sharp, rusty objects, Disney shut down a waterpark property (which was supplied water by a local source of naturally occurring H2O) when they realized their natural source was tainted, and a kid picked up a brain eating amoeba on their property and *died*.
      I'd rather step on something sharp and tetanus-ridden, and undergo subsequent treatment as many times as theoretically possible over the course of a year than contract a brain eating amoeba while happily swimming and die from the experience. But maybe that's just me. What do you guys think?

    Discovery island was fenced off during early 2020 and the dock was removed. So right now it’s completely isolated and no one can go in. The last real footage was from the 2000s when someone snuck onto the island itself. There is just old falling apart buildings and remnants of work schedules and maybe some knickknacks of the museum side of the island. The weird thing is electricity still goes to the island and music plays. It gives anyone the creeps.

    I’m a former Toontown cast member. I’d say Roger Rabbit is much creepier than Mickey’s house and usually when we referred to Timmy, it was something happening at Roger. I once had an incident where I was walking through the ride at the end of the day as part of closing procedures and there was a locked door that was shaking as though someone was trying to get in. I was alone at the time.

    I can definitely believe the stories about people thinking places on Main Street are haunted. I worked CP at Disney World, and I was told never to go down into the kitchens at Tony's by myself.
    And of course, I had to ONE TIME, and it about scared me half to death. Pots banging, unexplained creaking, and with most of the lights turned off. I grabbed the trash I was supposed to get and got out of there ASAP. I probably just freaked myself out, but still, really creepy.

    The main thing I've heard about the Haunted Mansion one is that someone bought a BB gun over in Frontier Land before getting on the ride. Not quite sure how it actually happened, but I think they also went on to say that one of the illusions spooked them and they fired the gun in reaction.
    All in all though, using a fake spider to cover up the hole is an ingenious way to fix a problem that would have been a headache, and possibly months downtime, to fix otherwise.
    In order to replace the glass, they'd have to remove the roof, carefully remove the pane, carefully install the new one and then replace the roof before cleaning the debris from said repair before the ride was fit to reopen. Three months downtime at least

    According to my mother, her second oldest brother always had good luck with Friday the 13th's while they were growing up! He was actually a pretty lucky person in general - she's recalled stories where he would call in to the local radio station and he'd win large supplies of soda pop for their family of seven kids (which was a real treat for them as they grew up living paycheck to paycheck and scraping by everywhere they could), or how he would often find money on the ground while they were walking somewhere and stuff like that, so 13 was actually a very lucky number for him! I wouldn't say that I've always had the same luck as my uncle did, although I do remember getting lucky with winning a contest or two at school on or near a Friday the 13th every now and then! Plus, my favorite number has always been 13 anyway, so when it brings me a bit of good luck, I'm always grateful!

    All the dark rides used to have a bad ending, in Peter Pan you would get shot by Captain Hook at the end and "die", in Snow White the queen would push the boulder on you and you would "die", dark rides got their name from being dark and scary.... all of the original Disney dark rides were designed to reflect that and all had bad endings but were changed as more modern ideologies came into play, Mr Toad's however remains unchanged and still has it's original ending.

    I can't believe Disney got away with that concept of Mr. Toad dying at the end of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Then again, the original version of Snow White's Scary Adventures at Magic Kingdom featured the witch crushing the riders to death with an enormous jewel. So, anything was possible!

    Disney has a strange accidental efficient way of being creepy to the point of being a terrifying park company to visit in any of their parks.

    The hearse thing is so fascinating to me because I’m a direct grandchild of Brigham Young (4 generations) and I’ve never heard that story before!!! 🤯 honestly bummed it’s most likely a myth but still kinda interesting.

      Current member of the church and former cast member here. I can verify that this myth was a hot topic that some cast members at Disneyland still believe. It’s a fun myth, but isn’t true.

    vultures are scavengers, not predators. They won't let you touch them, but they definitely won't attack unless you're dead and decomposing. I've been around lots of Florida vultures, and they'll just stare at you, nothing more.

    Should look up Phantom Manor at Dispeyland Paris, during one of its renovations, a electrician sadly passed away inside the ride.. it was a big deal but because the ride was closed at the time, there was no threat to guests

    In middle school I made a slideshow presentation about Disneyland's ghosts, specifically Mr. One Way, The Haunted Mansion Weeping Child, Pirate George, The Haunted Mansion Old Man with the Cane, and I think that was it.
    I still haven't forgiven myself of the cringe.
