  • I give my reactions and a review to the brand new Veto TP3B Tool Pouch from Veto Pro Pac. It has one glaringly obvious difference from previous Veto tool pouches.....it stands upright! The new Veto TP3B tool bag includes the polymer base that allows other larger Veto bags to stand upright, as well as withstand a wet/snowy ground when set down. Join me as I give my first impressions, opinions, and initial tool loadout of this slick little HVAC, Electrician or other technician tool pouch! *EDIT ~ There was actually in fact a tape loop strap included with the bag, it was hidden at the bottom of the box with the warranty info......my bad Veto!!

    Gotta make a correction! The bag DID have the tape loop strap, it was hidden at the bottom of the box it came in. My bad VETO!

    • @AKHVAC
      @AKHVAC  6 лет назад

      Daniel Robbins jumper wires, not cables. Try that. You can type alligator end jumper wire and you should get a result.

      AK HVAC Pfft... I use jumper cables. Yeah... they're a little big, 1/2 inch wires, 4 inch jaw. Sometimes when I'm jumping R to Y I'll rip off a few relays and transistors. Not they work great for 24VAC any way. (That's a joke, don't try that new kids :)

    I am a Licensed Journeyman Electrician. I can see a bag like this working perfectly for me as my EDC pouch I wear all day at the hospital 🏥 I work at. This might fit the bill. Us electricians like having Open Pouches. I have the Veto MCT bag but I don't use that with my Day Job. This was a really great video to see this pouch. Thanks and God bless 🙏.

    I strongly agree with your idea of MB2 having a hard bottom. Had not thought about that until you mentioned it.
    Im not a fan of the metal clip On the TP3B. I prefer the composite clip on the MB bags because they dont scratch wood and equipment cabinets when you hang the bags from the handles and the clip rubs on stuff. As well as the composite clips don’t wear the edge of your pockets or belt out. And they clip better onto the D rings of bigger veto bags.

    The pill container is a great idea ! Using the belt loop for your jumpers , and non contact voltage tester !

    Veto should offer a buy back program. I bought an MB and they come out with an MB2. I buy an MC and they come out with the MCT Now this! I use an open type bag, the CLC 1526. It holds everything I use. If they would offer a hard bottom on their bag it would be the best out there to me.

    I've been carrying an MB2 for about 3-4 years doing high rise work in Chicago. Nothing can replace it. I get to climb, jump, crawl all without worry. I couldn't do that with this. Not with an open top. And attics, where you want a compact bag, no way. I'd be buying new tools every week.

    • @feboober
      @feboober 6 лет назад

      THIS! Oh my god this. The only way I go now in attic is Snickers work trousers with closed pockets, i just bung in what i need to the pockets, close em and go crawling!

    Not a fan of open top bags. Hopefully veto puts the plastic bottom on the mb2. I love the weekly pill container idea. I’m gonna go get some of those today 👍🏻

    Thanks for the review video! I agree that if Veto comes out with an MB2 with hard bottom that legions of guys will buy it. I love my MB2 and is my go to bag everyday and yes it does suck that it tips over because of how tall it is. The nice thing is that all the tools in the center pouches with the zipper and flaps don’t fall out but my tools in the side pouches do and it’s a pain having to pick them up and put them back in. Looking forward to one day having a MB2 bag that solves that.

    I got my TP3B a couple of weeks ago now and have been using it this week to save dragging my heavy “tech lc” with me when I only need a few small tools while connecting up electrical db’s. I have been hanging it up right beside the panel where I am working and it has saved me (& my back) from several hundred crouches.
    It has had a small Bosch impact driver, 2 or 3 screwdrivers, knife, couple of rolls of tape, knippex grips, pliers, 6” cable shears, side cutters, cable marker application needle, 2 sharpies and a biro. There was still space to spare as the front Velcro pocket was empty as were a couple of tool pockets. The downside was that it does still fall over, especially with the impact in the forward tool holder (where AK had his meter in the vid) Ideally the hard base would be slightly larger so it protruded further forward.
    Quite surprising how many tools it swallows up given it’s size. Probably the best pouch of it’s size on the market.

    I finally bought a TP3 at the beginning of the year, then a month later I saw they were coming out with THIS...DOH!
    Same thing happened when I bought my MC back in 2016 - they came out with the MCT within a month, lol
    I've only been using my TP3 during the slow months and for Maint. Checks so far this year, but haven't had a huge problem with it falling over - I usually just lay it on it's back if i'm on a rooftop unit or in an attic OR hang it off of the disconnect when working on a Condensor.

    I saw a post from veto that MB hard bottom is in the works. There's also a picture of the TP4 hard bottom on their instagram. I'm rocking a fieldpiece hs36, it doesn't look like that would fit well in a TP bag...
    Another note, is the klein slide drive multi still too new for most people to have found one? It isn't at any suppliers in my hood yet. I've also noticed that Klein has taken their multi-bit that fits into an impact off the market - just after I realized that it exists. I hope it comes back, I'm tired of having a rattling pocket full of bits

    I carry the Veto MC in my truck and a clc zippered top bag about the size of the Veto MB. The clc just has the pocket layout that works perfectly for the tools I want to have with me at all times and it stands up on it's own. But the material around the zipper is starting to get hung up making it difficult to zip after about a week of use, annoying. Been on the fence about the Veto MB but I love my MC and know the Veto quality. I was thinking if they made a smaller version of the MC that would be cool tool. Im gonna give the clc a couple more weeks but I will probably end up with the mb bag.

    Do you think just adding a hard bottom to the mb-2 will keep it from tipping. I kind of think they would have to make it a little thicker to offset the height. Not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion as long as they don't go crazy.
