Sendai is very dear to my heart. This is the native city for Hanyu Yuzuru (two times Olympic champion and unique artist), the city ambassador. His dedication to Sendai is outstanding. thank you for a nice tour! Definitely worth visiting for exploring Japan and beautiful people of Sendai.
Really like the way you present this. pushing out from the centre to the more distant places. I knew most of the things you spoke about but there were some very cool things I didn't know! Zunda is amazing and lots of people don't know about it. I prefer Hiroshima oysters to Sendai. I've not made it to Sendai yet but have done a lot of Tohoku. Living in Tokyo it isn't a bad journey and you've made me want to go there ASAP!
The nightlife area is Kokubuncho NOT ‘Gokubuncho’ and plenty of foreigners hang out there. I’ve been in Sendai for 25 years and have never had any problems going to that area. Matsushima is NOT in Sendai - it’s a separate city. And it’s Naruko Hot Springs NOT ‘Naruto Hot Springs’.
Thank you for the video. Yuzuru Hanyu fans from all over the world visited Sendai every year. I visited in Nov 2023 and again this Dec 2024😃. Need to go for the hot spring next visit.
Thank you so much :) I'll be in Sendai for a 3 week exchange program from my work and this video gave such a great overview of the things I can explore there! It was very helpful to me. Thank you:)
Most of the little bars and stuff in Kokubuncho dont really have people who speak english and from the looks of it they dont even let you in unless you're Japanese. Honestly not a very tourist friendly place but thats fine tbh. I went to a club called "Art" which is supposedly the best club in Tohoku and it wasnt half bad. Theres that and a club called 101 or something but the former definitely gets more traction.
Wow that’s wild. I spent a week bar hopping and had an excellent time. Tons of really friendly people… a group of guys took me to a baseball game! I don’t really do the club thing. But all the bars I went to were super friendly. Despite My Japanese being terrible.
