- Here is a new video !!
This is a vintage TV lighter made by the Japanese company K.K.W. around 1960.
It was in very bad shape, some parts were broken or missing and had to be re-made.
The chrome was scratched and I had to make new plating.
Please watch till the end to see this 1960's Japanese TV lighter in action !

How cool is that? You always seem to find the most unique items to restore. Well done! 👍
❤❤❤❤
what a cute little lighter!
I swear that we had one like that at home when I was little.
What could be more retro than a camera lighter?! 😅 Good job!
A TV lighter, he restored previously. :)
Very nice. Unusual too. Although I don't smoke, I like unusual lighters. 😊
Thanks a lot Cathy 😌🙏
Bravo
Toujours un régal vos vidéos.
Merci
Merci encore Stef 😌🙌
Great restore 😮😮👏👏
I like to see some videos of your channel. inspiration. 👍
About the highest praise I can give you is I anticipate your videos. Thank you!
This is the first time I've seen such a lighter!!!
Super cute.😊 I want one.
Coolest lighter I've ever seen. Wish quality things like this were still made.
Now that’s funny. This was just considered to be a cheap piece of Japanese junk when it was new.
@@ShadowsOnTheScreen says a lot about how far we've fallen when stuff considered to be junk in the past has better build quality than most top end stuff today
My grandfather had this lighter in his collection of knickknacks and I was lucky enough to inherit it. Amazing to see what it looks like once you cleaned it up!
Why not try your turn to give it a second life?😀
Perfect
Amazing Work !
Very cute object.
It's so cute, it could'nt have been neglected one more day!
Thanks a lot Damien ! Glad you enjoyed it. See you soon 😉
@@TheFabrik I also seriously wonder where you find all of theses cool objects!
Mostly in eBay ;) 🤫
Ha!!!! i was waiting for it to take a photo😃😃😃
That was a cool one
Une autre restauration super intéressante 🤓
Merci 🙏
Very nice..I was fond of cameras at that beautiful time.. I still have one camera with its booms ....
thank you..ss
Thank you !
Wow, this sprung to life like some sort of deadly hand gun :D cool video :D
Well, this was a snap!
…😅 Sorry, I couldn’t resist!
Awesome job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
😅😂 many thanks !
Useless fact: this design was copied in USSR and was popular.
Ay, at least it is a FUN fact
@@LBchannel14 the soviet union
Genius.
nice one
I realized that he's restoring a lighter, but not a real tiny camera only at the end of the video!
Very nice!
I did not think it looked too bad until you took it apart then it looked awful. The restoration looks great and you did a fantastic job on it! I always look forward to your latest project. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks a lot John 😌🙏
That was cool
That’s Awesome
I had one of these in around 1968. My Mum bought it home from holiday as a present. How nice to see it again.
Nice to hear that ! Glad it brings back good memories !
It's not just the visual restoration that rivets the eye; but it's also the sound of the restoration that pleases the ear. Together I bet they heal any bout of insomnia: my educated guess.
Glad to contribute to a good sleep 👍
you are the expert! very nice and cool guys 👍👍
Thank you very much ! 😀👍
Great restore, as always. 👍
Very cool! What a unique item. Excellent restoration. Well done! Thank you.
Thanks to you for watching and commenting !!! 👍👍👍

Glad you enjoyed it ! Thanks a lot !
Love it, it is so unique. You are such a professional, I enjoy watching the whole process of restoration.
Great restoration. You did a great work. 👍👍
Hi, I was surprised how many parts there are to restore in this Camera Lighter. Another superb restoration, I enjoyed watching very much. Cheers, Paul.👍👍👍
Hi Paul, glad you enjoyed it ! Thank you very much for your support 👍
Thanks for the new video! I'd watched all your previous ones and was wondering when you'd be back with a fresh restoration. Was worried for half a tick that you'd stopped. Am so glad my fave channel is "back." 🎉
Thank you very much for your support! 👍👍👍👍It means a lot to me. You are right, I will try to post videos more often. But it's a lot of work 😅
@@TheFabrik I can imagine! Just know that you are providing at least this person a lot of enjoyment from watching you do your projects, and I'm learning a lot as well. Hope that makes the hard work worth it. 😉
@@TheFabrik Please don't let yourself put under pressure! It's something you do in your free time I guess. So number one should be yourself enjoying the process, you don't owe us nothing. But we do enjoy it!
Great restore
Thanks a lot mate 😌🙏
I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I definitely don’t need it.
IIIIIIIII NEEEEED ITTTTTTTTTT
😅👍 I know what you mean 😂
Nice!!
Excellent work as always. Feel like i waited forever for a new video lol.
But I understand these take time for restoration and video editing.
Look forward to the next
Thanks a lot ! You're right, I need to publish a new video quickly... Unfortunately, the work is sometimes longer and more complicated than I initially imagined.😅
@@TheFabrik lol, no it’s totally understandable. A month isnt too long considering all the work to be done. I had binge watched all your vids over a week or two so a month felt like forever lol
Fantastic restoration, amazing work.
Quel beau petit objet magnifiquement restauré ! Une fois de plus c'est une réussite que l'on a plaisir à découvrir. Bravo !!!
Exellent job
Thanks a lot 🙏
Es un hermoso encendedor, realizaste un gran trabajo de restauración muy profecional, parece recién salido de fabrica
Love the lighter👍 I really enjoyed the process of your great work.
Glad to hear that! Thanks a lot 🙌
That is delightful. Thank you! :o)
Thank you !! 🙌
Good morning. You know I always put your videos in the "watch later"-folder until I have a real quiet moment to watch them - and that was now 😊! You are a magician, that's for sure! How you put this beautiful little piece back to life is really something to admire, but just as impressive is your filming, keeping the focus even on the tiniest parts. And then you put it all together into a video which is - and I repeat myself - more than just a video, it's a work of art, short-film-festival-worthy! Thanks for all your efforts and for sharing it with us.
Wow Stefan thanks you so much for all these kind words. It’s very touching, I’m always tryin’ to share my emotions. You made my day 🙌🙏👍😌😀
cool gute arbeit 💯👍
Really a camera with builtin flash.
Fine job of saving a old lighter from the land fill 👍🏆
❤ magnifique objet et restauration soignée comme toujours
Great looking restoration and you did an excellent job restoring it as well!!!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you very much for your support and loyalty 👍. It means a lot to me. See you soon !
Thanks!
How can I thank you Stefan ! You’re my very first contributor. It means a lot !!! Thank you very much. 😍
@@TheFabrik that‘s really well deserved! Was my pleasure 😊
I used to have a 1930-ies lighter that was an actual spy camera. The lighter worked amd the camera too.
James Bond better watch out ! 😉
Очень сложная работа. Респект.
Thank you !!
Nice! Looks and works great!
I have one of these. There is a cable release that goes along with this camera lighter.
Yep true, was also missing on that one 👍
@@TheFabrik I wish we could share photos. You probably could make one.
Hey TF
What a great find and an awesome outcome.
Take care
Thanks a lot ! see you soon 😉
Incredible! Great work!
Thank you !! 🙌
10:49 wow a camera wanna take a pic 10:54 wha 10:56 lighter oh god
Awesome Job Sir, you couldnt ask for a better Job with attention to the finest details. I like it when you get to make the Parts that are missing if possible. The use of the Lathe always takes me back to Machine Shop. Learning to make your own tools, the ones we used you needed to dial it in on all 3 sides then start your project the 1 i hated but thought was Pretty neat was the CNC Lathe. I didnt like it because you had to know Calculus Trig ugh, i never even go along with Geometry lol !! Thank you so much for Sharing this Video. Loved ❤❤ this my Parents use to have some of these amazing lighters.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it !!!
The cork behind the lens...classy fer sher. Is that compas supposed to be dry?
Не знаю нащо я це дивлюсь в о пів на другу,але цікаво))
"Hey guys, check out my new camera!"
*_lights self on fire_*
"Oh, wait, this isn't a camera..."
😆
Bro restore any old actul camera
I had one of those in the sixties but there's a part missing. It's the remote plunger cord that screws onto the post which houses the ignition button.
I thought that remote was an optional thing… Thanks for the info tho 😌👍
I bought it in Belgium, in 1961, on a school trip. It was a gift for my father. I inherited it later on, but bits subsequently fell off, and it was probably thrown away.
This is so cool. I love smoking paraphernalia. Do you repair other people's things?
Thanks a lot ! I usually don’t… unless you have some unique items :)
此のオイルライターも欲しい!
👍
Perfect restore except for one thing. The aperture dial around the lens is upside down. The flat part goes on top.
Thank you ! Are you sure about that? I’ve already seen several with uncut dials…
@@TheFabrik You are correct sir. I spoke out of turn. I have about 4 of these types of lighters. One of them, which I mistook this one to be, has the dial cut on both top and bottom to fit inside the frame. I do not have the exact one you showed in the video so I am unsure if the dial was cut or not. My apologies for jumping the gun on that.
A have a new one newer used they are cool. Ligher Japany made
First comment 😂 Great job 😁
Nope, I'm first!
🫣😂
What was the first solution you used to clean the camera up. I have a few box brownies I need to clean. Thanks. Lovely restore btw.
I used acetone, then linseed oil 👍 Acetone ruins plastic though…. Be carefull ! 🫣
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
👍💯
Just saw this in a video from mad hunter he is in Peru and his kid found one that the flash still works
Wow really ! I didn’t know that
А камера то огонь
Do you have a video on changing the wick on the old Japan lamp shade lighters? I have one coming this week that will need to be gone through. Not restored on the outside, just made to work. Thank you.
I have no idea on how to change the wick… I’m not sure you can do it on that model. I just kept the original🙌
@@TheFabrik thank you. It should arrive tomorrow and I'll take a look at it. Hopefully it'll work but if not it'll be displayed.
@@nfsamerica4584 each part is glued and seized… It’s really not easy to disassemble. Hope you will succeed 😀
@@TheFabrik It just arrived and it has a wick! Put a flint and fluid in and it fired right up! 🙂
@@nfsamerica4584 yay glad to hear ! 😀👍
I’ve just found one online for £15, seems a bargain. Hopefully works ok 😂
That blue liquid, was that to blue the metal to stop rust?
Yep exactly ! 👍
@@TheFabrik nice job
👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍
Автор, ты только не обижайся, но токарке тебе ещё учиться и учиться. Мой тебе совет, делай вылет заготовки как можно меньше, у тебя её отгибает даже, при такой малой глубине резания.
Thanks a lot ! Very small parts… not easy
@@TheFabrik Ты прав друг, мелкие детали, это та ещё заноза в заднице.
Another great restoration! But what I don't understand is why a lighter is made to look like a tiny camera? And why the compass dial? All seems too random. Cute antique nonetheless.
Novelty, plain and simple. Even today you can find weird toys and gadgets sold all over the internet, just look at what Ashens features on his channel
Это что фото апарат да? Или зажигалок
Only lighter ;)
lam tot lam//
your cutting tool on lathe is set a fraction too high.
Yes i need to fix this 🙌
is there a rule for using black gloves and tweezers in resto videos???? i dont get it,..........
This lighter measures half a pack of cigarettes... Tweezers really help ;) black gloves not to touch rust, dust and lead paint... no gloves = dirty hands ✊🏻 thank you !
@@TheFabrik you need dirty hands by doing such Things 😁
Even with the gloves I have dirty hands ;)
Great restoration, but why would they put a compass on it?
I have no idea 😒
Master restorer. Every time.
