GWR 4953 ‘Pitchford Hall’ at Grosmont (24.09.2024)

Visiting locomotive GWR 4953 ‘Pitchford Hall’ at Grosmont 2 days before the start of the NYMR Steam Gala as it runs through the station and shunts the freight train as the engine is tested after recent issues. Footage was captured on Tuesday 24th September 2024.

That Steam Engine looks like it's straight out of the factory it's gleaming. Is it their own steamer or is it on loan. Does Grosmont station open all Year round. When you go to Haverthwaite when you get off the train at Oxenholme for change to Windermere there's a pie and pasty shop just outside the station on the south bound side David Willan is the name on the shop there's always plenty there. It closes at 6.30 pm. There's bad weather forecast for the next 24 hrs so we'll be Storm bound😢

We’ve got heavy rain on the way too for tomorrow just in time for the Steam Gala! Got my brolly ready but hoping it won’t be as bad as it’s forecast to be!
