    30 years ago, I went up there with two buddies. We hiked up on a Friday afternoon, with plans to camp for the night and ski the next morning. We were young and didn’t know the rules. Pitched our tent, started a fire and began cooking supper…..turkey drumsticks. We heard somebody yelling, which was weird because we thought we were alone on the mountain. It was Ranger Rick! He was extremely upset! He said he hadn’t smelled a campfire up there in 20 years! He educated us on the “rules”. We didn’t have enough cash to stay in the hut, so we hiked down to that bridge you went over and spent the night on the bridge in our sleeping bags. I think he ticketed us as well.

    That was awesome! I really enjoyed watching your video and am glad you had a great day up there. If I may make a request...it would be great to see you look back at Tuckermans when you get to the bottom and to point out which lines you actually skied. I've never skied it, but watch a fair amount of content about it and thought your video would be perfect for something like this. I recognize most folks already know or can figure out which lines you're skiing, but that's just my two cents. Nevertheless, I'll be subscribing to catch more content and follow your journey. Great video!

    My first time on Tuckerman Ravine, I was 20, my friends and I pitched a tent at 4am in Pinkham Notch to camp out and snowboard it. At 6am rangers woke us up, so we packed up and went after it 😅 this was 18 years ago. We do a little better now

    The average East Coast expert should not ski tucks for the first time before April. The avalanche risk is just too great before the snow settles into corn and the daily freeze/thaw cycle you get in spring.
    Warmer weather makes rescue easier as well in case of injury.
    Stay safe out there!

    • @extreme_ryan_delena
      @extreme_ryan_delena  14 дней назад +1

      @@itsdawomb Far from my first time. I’ve actually skied 84 out of the 91 routes in the guidebook ;)
      But I agree with your advice, it’s a different animal mid winter, and for a first timer spring would be better.

    Isn't that "Hillman's Highway" ~ on the left. ??? Not actually "The Bowl". So to speak. ??? Just don't know "these days." Maybe names have changed. Yea, I (was) usually there in April to May. Oh well. Still fond memories. Thanks so much for this one. 〰✨🌿👍🌿✨〰

    Merry Xmas!!! I was really tempted to go this past Sunday (which is probably the day you were up there). I was worried about too sketchy avy conditions for a solo venture so I skied Moosilauke instead. Of course I regret my choice after watching your amazing video. What was the first run before you skied the Left Gully?

    • @extreme_ryan_delena
      @extreme_ryan_delena  19 дней назад +1

      This video was actually taken before the rain, I spread my content out so I can so weekly uploads. Occasionally I will rush content so people can see current conditions, especially with rare lines, but since the rain was coming I figured it wasn’t super consequential. So you likely made the right call. I was on the cog on Saturday and wind was nuking, lots of shooting cracks. I imagine Sunday would’ve been sketchy. The first line I skied was Chute North Variation. I hiked into it from the bottom since it was closed out at the top.
