Paul commented years later that he thought people came to hear their music, but what people came for was just to SEE them. How true. I was one of those crazy screaming girls at Their live show at Cobo Hall in Detroit, 1964. It was wild. I guess you just had to be there to "understand", as if that was even possible. Great memories.
This must be the best footage from those iconic early Beatles. 1963 singing She Loves You and Twist and Shout, playing and singing live. Amazing document.
I never saw them in person and swore I wouldn't scream at their movies. But they had such incredible charisma, even on screen, that I screamed my head off like everyone else.
A colleague's husband saw the Beatles movie "Help" (1965) with his older sisters at the Regents Theater in Arlington, Massachusetts, and he told her that he didn't hear hardly any of the movie's dialogue because of all the screaming nonstop through out the entire movie.
This song and I Wanna Hold Your Hand were the first popular Beatle tunes on Top Forty radio in the US. I think I heard them about ten times a day, like on KFWB CHANNEL 98! In L.A. where I lived. Great great memories!

Both Sir Paul McCartney or Sir Ringo Starr still could do right with either "She Loves You" and/ or "Twist and Shout", even today! Does anyone agree? :))
Amazing how they could do all this with screaming fans...must have been hard to sing in tune, let alone strum all the right strings/drums without hardly looking
