TIMISA! Four years since orphaned elephant calf Timisa was rescued!

- Timisa's four year journey with the Jabulani Herd.
It has been four years since Michelle Henley and her team at Elephants Alive rescued a young female elephant calf and brought her into the care of Adine and the elephant care team at Jabulani.
Tokwe, the matriarch of the herd accepted her unconditionally and with absolute love.
Fast forward to 2020, and Timisa finds herself as a big sister to another orphan accepted into the herd, little albino elephant calf, Khanyisa. Having this new role has really brought a sense of purpose and confidence to Timisa who has stepped up to the playful yet loving responsibility as an older sibling. And it is clear how happy Khanyisa is to have Timisa in her life.
We look forward to sharing the next few years of Timisa's journey as we see her sweet and caring nature unfold more and more with every day.

One of the very many things I enjoy about these videos is seeing the elephants, of all sizes, simply walking along with humans as part of the herd. The humans look very comfortable, too. All that makes me very happy 😁😊😀

It is not too common in wild herds though - which makes the Jabulani Herd so unique. But yes 100% these elephants teach us every day!

How old was Timisa when she came to Herd?
I believed Adine mentioned it in a past video that Timi was 10 months old when she was found. Her Mama died. She was a fussy eater. She loved her greens even as a little baby. She drank milk with pellets.

I like to know about the history of how all these elephants came to be in this herd. I like when you feature a story on a member of the herd. I’m especially curious about how you came to be able to get so close to these elephants, especially the ones that came to you as adults. The close up pictures you’re able to get always amazes me.
