Elephants smelling Lente's arm - picking up the area she had an injection.

- Join Adine and her daughter Lente, for one of their recent afternoon walks with Khanyisa and her herd.
Watch the beginning closely, as first Kumbura and then Zindoga and Setombe gently smell Lente's arm. She had just recently had her wisdom teeth taken out, and they could smell where she had an injection. They indeed are incredible animals!
The rest of the walk was very relaxed and calm as they trailed slowly through the bush. As usual Lundi, Kumbura, Timisa and Bubi are never too far away from little Khanyisa.
Look out for an amazing close up of Khanyisa as she suckles from Lundi. This is purely for comfort as the cows are not lactating as they are on contraception. Khanyisa still relis on our team for her milk formula.

How could one not be humbled being around these beautiful animals.
Elephants are so smart they know when things are different with their human caretakers. 😊
Scenes like this show just how much their people mean to them in their hearts. Seeing them jostle for position, Tokwe and Sebakwe - giant leaders that they are - hurrying over to get their people love. Little Timisa maneuvering her way in to make sure she gets her fair share of affection, lol. Adine’s hand caressing a wrinkled trunk so deserving of our love, care and protection. Such a wonderful sight, all of this.
That's fascinating. Elephants can sense that her arm had been injured.
It's also remarkable how calm and gentle these huge creatures are with tiny, vulnerable human beings.
It always makes my day to see Khanyisa! 💕🐘
Mine too these days the elephants 🐘 videos are my favorite to watch everyday I love 💘 the moms 👩 and the beautiful baby elephants 🐘 I love the herd I love everybody who loves and cares for these beautiful creatures thank you god bless
@@robinjohnson2749 if you don't already watch it, check out Safari Live on Wild Earth's RUclips channel. You will see elephants (among many other animals) from safari vehicles in the Maasai Mara and also South Africa. I know Katherine Uribe has watched it too.
Hi Katherine! :^)
@@GuantanamoBayBarbie2 Hi Barbara! Good looking out, sending another kindred spirit to WildEarth! Take care, my friend! 😺💕🦁💕
Many animals can. As a matter of fact, some areas of medicine have trained dogs to help point out patients w/cancer.
Vulnerable holy crap its the elephants who are vulnerable why the hell are these people putting these animals that are going extinct on CONTRACEPTION oh man control freaks puss me off we really need to extinct control freak governments that put elephants on CONTRACEPTION thats what needs to dissapears when i read that i got enraged!!!!!
Come to think of it.. Such large animals with so much strength and those tusks and still so gentle and calm around humans.. I have a new respect for the intelligence and elegance of elephants because of your videos. Thank You for enlightening me! 💗❤
I think you would really enjoy the book "Life, Love, and Elephants: An African Love Story" by Dame Daphne Sheldrick. It explores in great depth the topic of elephant's abilities and it is a good story too.
Isn't it amazing? They are physically capable of destroying so much, and they simply don't.
I watch these videos & try to breath in all the serene vibes they have & exhaled old toxins. Just watching them slow & gracefully moving around....even with baby elephant scooting around those mama & nana's legs. It's fascinating, mesmerizing actually. Such beautiful love bugs...?
Many people have far less empathy than The HERD!! They are simply amazing!,
Best medicine ever, so soothing to hear them walk and their beautiful noises of happiness. Pure Zen!
Animals are fascinating. My dog smelled my cancer b4 I was diagnosed n I knew I was in for an adventure. I’m grateful to my dog.
How amazing is that!! Hope you are better now?
I'm sure you are our cats when I'm sad your comment touched my heart ❤
1979 Hellcat I hope you are now in remission. 💛 healing thoughts for you 💛
HERD Elephant Orphanage South Africa full remission love! 💚
Chantelle McLaren (Alyssa Chey) I am ty
they are gorgeous, loving, astonishing soft gentle giants.
Not so soft….their skin can feel like cement but beautiful, kind, loving animals. When I met Sebakwe, Somopane and Jabulani, they let me rub their faces, hold their tusks and talk baby talk to them. My heart gets full whenever I think of the experience. Just incredible.
It is so wonderful to see all these caring comments. It's so nice to have compassionate people sharing "our experiences"
❤🌳🐘🚶♀️❤
I am fascinated at how fast they communicate to come and inspect Lente’s arm.
Ikr? Just wow! ❤❤❤
It's so sweet to see how the herd protects her. How compassionate that the cows let her suckle for comfort! She is loved, and she knows it!
It is amazing to see how you interact with these gentle giants. I do hope people realize the difference between this kind of behaviour, and how wild elephants behave. Say you're on safari or encounter one somewhere else, they would not behave this way and you wouldn't dare to get so close. Sometimes city folks don't know any better.
Thank you so much for rescuing these intelligent, compassionate, beautiful elephants. ❤🐘❤
From the uk. Wow. They can really sense a medical intervention like that, and the majority of the herd show such an interest? That is very powerful stuff.. and shows a massive degree of intelligence and understanding of changes in their human carers! Saw your video where one of the herd recognised a covered up cycling injury on Adine but this is even more impressive! Thank you for sharing these interactions.
The elephants surely do smell the injection site and want to make sure she is alright. Everyone seems to be doing well. Thank you for this video. We love to see how all the elephants are doing. Kumbura is so good for keeping an eye out for Khanyisa. Timisa makes me smile and giggle as I can sometimes just imagine what she’s thinking. Wishing everyone a beautiful day 💞
Oh wow, Adine your daughter is just as beautiful as you, and those elephants are so smart, and Khanyisa's eyes are so beautiful...good morning to you all
Such empathy for Lente!
Thank you for the beautiful video. I love Khanyisa’s cute pink tongue.
Wonderful!
There’s something incredibly calming about these wonderful animals.
I love that if one elephant smells/senses something new, all the others join to check it out also. Just like children, they don't want to miss a thing! 😂❤
All her scars are healed and she looks so healthy and happy!
She has come such a long way!
Watching them walking together is my favorite. Can’t say exactly why; just something about all that greatness and power in one place and them being able to walk almost silently. All you here is the sand crunching. So peaceful. Beautiful sight!! ❤️🇺🇸
It’s therapeutic to watch! Such grace
Silence....yes.......majesty.......grace
I hate zoos. But I understand the need for them.
If each animal had a bigger enclosure in a more natural setting it'd be so much better for them.
1am here in Australia but I still have to watch these beautiful animals before calling it a night. Such gentle sweet creatures... Always grateful to you for sharing them with us... 🥰💜🐘
This entire herd is something to behold.
And Timisa is so far out of her shell, she is a joy to watch.
Elephants have such strength. Yet are so gentle..loving.😘
Simply stunningly beautiful! Love the love between Khanisa and Lundi. The curiosity of Lente’s arm.
They can pick up a different scent on Lente's arm after she's had an injection?! A M A Z I N G !! 🤯🥰
Victoza (for diabetics) smells so bad I could probably smell it! But animal's sense of scents (👀😁) seems to be much better than ours.
@The Social Socialist Yes, I know. Amazing, isn't it?!
It is so nice of Lente n Adine’s son to participate in mom’s devotion to the herd, thanks you and God bless you all
There is always at least one elephant watching Khanyisa carefully, following and paying close attention. The fascinating thing is that who the designated Khanyisa watcher is, changes very frequently, in a way that seems unmistakably organized .... as one watcher moves off to do something else, someone else is coming right up to take their place immediately, yet i can't see any communication. i know they communicate subsonically and in other ways we don't detect; my point is, it's so subtle, constant, seemingly nearly failsafe. There is such a clever system they have, and they are all clued in and taking part when needed, without complaint or laziness or whatever. Who or what system determines who is next in line for calf duty ? Is this unique to this patched-together group, does it differ from group to group, or do they have a universal system ? Just ... so fascinating. They are an impressive species.
Great observation.
Maybe they just took the duty voluntarily to relieve another? When they were by the dam, and Tokwe was with Khanyisa who was interested in some bush, Tokwe wanted to go to the water and mud too - she even shook her head as being unsatisfied - then Klaserie just came from the water and as soon as she got close, Tokwe went to the water. Was it Klaseries's turn? I think though she just volunteered. But Kumbura is in big sis duty all the time. And she came to accomppany Klaserie too that day by the dam. Maybe she didn't trust Klaserie was experienced enough.
@@Aurinkohirvi it's amazing how responsible they are! serious & mature at a young age. only way to survive m in the wild. i fear very few modern people could match that including me.
It's so very touching and humbling how the whole herd and HERD protect their baby girl 🥰 ...Humans and Ellis United ♥️
All the elephants look very well, wonderful to see this. And nice to meet more members of the family too.
Good If we could give more than our words ... Likes, shares, ...
I agree
@@jweber297 I guess the problem is the perceived issues with social media, if you're like me and you have your doubts about how your data is used. For this reason, I prefer communicating with the animal-loving public in these more comfortable and narrow confines.
Elephants are sociable creatures. They live to feel injury of friends. They are affection. While they love, they also wanted to be loved and to be petted on. These elephants grow well under Adine’s care.
...it gives me great comfort to see there are others in this world who "get it" ! so much is overlooked or taken for
granted in this world ...and sadly ...it is the innocent beings who suffer most of all because of it😕
thank you to Adine and HERD ! ...for what you have done ...for what you do
...and especially for what you will do for the future ! 🐘💕🐑💕🐗💕🤗
I agree
What a fortunate young woman she is. What would I give to have been her age and be around elephants. Just beautiful, beautiful. The elephants are so gentle around her.
I wish I could go along on one of y’all’s morning walks.
YES !!! My 3 dogs and 2 cats and I go on a nature walk on our tiny plot of wooded land. We live at a tiny lake. They all stay with me, but I'm alert to make sure they are with me. When I found Jabulani Herd, and started watching your daily walks ... our walks here made me think I was with Khanysia and the family ! Thank you for all you do for the elephants and for including us in your daily lives ❤️
The nose knows! The Ellie’s and their trunks are simply amazing! These sentient beings are extremely intelligent!🐘🐘💜💙🐘🐘🖤❤️🐘🐘💚🧡🐘
I believe they are sentient too. As I believe gorillas and orangutans are.
You must feel so privileged to have the trust of these remarkable gentle giants!♥️♥️ you also take us by the hand when you go for these walks! Many thanks for sharing!♥️♥️♥️
What a lovely way to start the day!
Their sense of smell is insane! Have their been experiments done on how specific it is? Also khanyisa's cute little face ❤️ I'm still stuck at home but it's nice to see you all outdoors with these animals, hopefully I get to visit someday!
They have terrible eyesight but good smell and usually rely on touch recognition. I'd like to know what the extents are as well.
What a privilege to be allowed to walk along with this tolerant family of Gentle Giants... 🐘 🐘 🐘
What a party of kindness in such a simple setting. We all wish we were there.
They knew that there had been an injection where there was perhaps a small amount of bruising and trauma to the area! They truly are old souls with so much more wisdom than we will ever understand! I heard that they together with whales are ancient souls that carry the original blueprint of this beautiful planet. They truly are magnificent and I have always been drawn to them both. I LOVE watching their interaction with you guys too! Thank you
Elephants make better people than people
Too true!
Such beautiful creatures walking gracefully in the wood. Sure and confident. Love my elephants ❤
The elephants are so concerned. so lovely to see that . mensicant is in a cuddly mood . too cute

I was just thinking of how beautiful Timisa's eyes were, too.
@@paperthyme yah really true
Oh my gosh I love how they all came running to make sure you were okay!
I am enthralled at how they are "at peace" in your company; it seems as if they just want to hang out with you. I'm happy for you. Also glad that these beauties have been treated kindly and gently by the humans they've met.
close up shots and how beautiful they are.
Agreed. My favorite was the early close up of the trunk. Wonderful
Yes, the close shots of their skin, its texture and sheen! They have such cute little bottoms, well not so little...
For some reason, I'm fascinated by their feet...
And guess I missed the beginning, but is Khanyisa blind? Or just has eye infections? Wonderful creatures, thank you!
@@aileen694 she's albino. Blue eyes and pink skin.
@@LahainaStrong444 Thanks Ellen...that finally dawned on me after watching a few of the videos:)). Such a sweet little creature, destined to be huge!
How fortunate to grow up surrounded by nature.
It's amazing how the evolution of their trunks gifted them such a versatile appendage.
Our pretty pink baby with her family. Human and elephant. ❤
You have a boo-boo?
So very sweet how they know.
Your daughter is also beautiful.😃
Thanks for the video. God bless you all.🙏
The most incredible nature video I have ever seen up close thank you
KHANYISA Toooo Adorable, thank you for taking care and protecting the animals. God Bless You!🐘😍😍😍🐘
Sunshine is so happy with her Ellie family. Just one of the gang. So nice to see. Comforting.

@Grant the Pilot no
@Grant the Pilot yes it's from Elton sorry the first answer was wrong sorry.
Mmmm, I have to go and listen to that now. I love it!
Is it not a joy to see these magnificent animals free and protected. Why the Chinese and others still kill these wonderful creatures for their tusk. Everyone should protect them because one day we might not have them around. My grandchildren will probably never have the pleasure I have.
So gentle and loving they are too her. Tfs ❤
Yes they are!
Good morning Khanyisa from N. Las Vegas have a BEAUTIFUL SPECTACULAR DAY!!! ❤🐘❤🙂
ADINE, YOUR DAUGHTER LENTE IS BEAUTIFUL! SHE LOOKS LIKE YOU! ❤🐘
what a lovely day🐘 thank you, everyone
Aww Elephants are wondering what is up. I hope Lente is okay. 🥰 lots of love from me in Ontario Canada 🍁
Magnificent. So large, so caring, so intelligent.
I have to thank the universe for elephants, and the internet, because I would never have been able to see these intelligent, amazing, caring, animals. Watching a herd accepting a new baby elephant into their herd, after she was orphaned, they literally all came running to the paddock to see and smell and greet her. It always amazes me how arrogant we humans are when you slow down to watch and see that we are not the inhabitants of the planet who think and love and fear, and mourn. These animals are majestic, and anyone who would harm them are every bit as evil as someone who would murder a human being. Let's hope everyone realizes what we stand to lose if we don't start putting our planet before profit.
i am in awe! To stand and walk with these sentient giants!
Such a relaxing video! A lovely walk. I see Khanyisa was chewing on a twig, perhaps removing the bark? She looked so grown up then! Interesting that the cows are on birth control but that makes sense. Just another one of the many details that have to be addressed when you're taking care of the day to day. Facinating that Kumbura and the others went straight to Lentes injection site. That is some supersonic smelling!
Wow! Wow! Wow! I tirelessly admire the beauty of these elephants. They have gentle and kind eyes. Now the sweetest in this family is, of course, the baby elephant Khanyisa. Just beautiful!
What an amazing video and scene! Little Khanyisa suckling and the elephants picking up Lente’s injection. I’m in awe on these animals! Thank you Adine and the Team!
Thank you! They are awesome in every way!
How blessed you are to be amongst these magnificent beings!
The close up of Khanyisa was truly amazing. Thank you
I've been in HR for over 20 years- I'm trying to determine if I can move to TN and work for one of the largest elephant rescue groups in the US. Elephants have always been a tremendous part of my life- so kind, sensitive, caring and intelligent and mistreated. They teach us how to behave.
Hope you are fortunate enough to go join the elephants in Tennessee! I have seen a few videos of it and am so thankful and amazed. BTW, I went to school in East Tennessee...it is so beautiful, I never wanted to leave!
Just found your channel, so nice to see these majestic intelligent beings in their own habitat. What a rush that must be standing next to them . I’ve always loved these guys. Love your videos . Subscribed, thanks for sharing ! 👍
Welcome! Thank you for subscribing and the nice words!
I'm very old....and my skin looks remarkably like Lundi's! I love these beautiful creatures.
Thank you Adine for a lovely evening.💕
Another great video, Adine. Love the close-ups and their ability to pick up on Lente's infection...They are AMAZING in so many ways! 💞🐘💞
The high def on these videos is AMAZING!! these creatures are absolutely divine. Thank you and God bless.
Amazing how sensitive animals can be when somethings not quite right. Our cat hovers close when I'm in pain.
Smothered with elephant love ❤️ the best! 😍

I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Just the visual of these mighty creatures in their environment. Awesomeness ❤️
Thank you Adene and your team, it's a privilege for us to watch!!! What peaceful videos!! In a world full of trouble and strife, it's really wonderful to see these calm elephants and you and your guys giving us a wonderful opportunity to experience these elephants up close!! I would be totally intimidated next to them, but you just continue walking on relaxed!! Love from us!!!
Watching and learning from your channel is a pleasure. Watching the interactions with ellies and humans is priceless.
Soooo adorable I love them sooo much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Elephants are awesome.
I love the feeling of the size of these animals…..love being right up close….family feel with them all around
I did spot a couple of 'sticks-to-go' 😉
Even the kids Timisa and Khanyisa seem to adopt that habit.
And in tune with their leisurely walk they opted for the small size up until the big tree where one of them fittingly got a grande.
Wonderful, intelligent, caring animals. It's great how you take care of them.
One of the big news networks in my country. RTL news, had a item about Khanyisa.
Enschede I saw it too!
Dat is leuk om te horen dat K op RTL tv is geweest hopelijk in de toekomst nog meer van dat.
That is amazing how they could smell, for lack of a better word, Lente's recent injection. Such incredible animals 💜💜
Animals are amazing creatures ;more love and compassion to their own and other species it's something humans lack ( not All) beautiful and breathtaking. Concern for your daughter...when ever I see a close up of these trunks ,they look so soft like velvet it's awesome texture. Are they???😊❤ Such gentle peaceful auras . !!💞💖 quick healing prayers for your daughter ;that's major surgery!🙏
I think we humans have that plenty too. But yeah, not everybody.
@@Aurinkohirvi yeah Aurinkohiviri! There are some humans ( quite alot) ; I agree that's what I meant but so many can be heartless , love to you😊👍💞❣
