Thank you for rescuing this little one and bringing her to HERD. I great fully admire the work you all do for the elephants, but hope that one day there will be no more snares to hurt them, I also realise that it will take many years for that to happen. God bless you all.
Team work, just so heart warming to witness. It’s amazing what people can do when they put their hearts, minds and souls together. Thank you all so much, from those of us who support all you and your efforts, from afar.
I've followed her progress since day 1, and this so heartwarming to see. She has come such a long way in a short time, all thanks to the loving care she receives at HERD. THANK YOU to all of her carers and Adine!
That's good news. Fenya still looks quite wobbly and skinny, but I'm sure she will enjoy being out in the fresh air and sunshine and she'll be able to see and hear some of the other elephants. Hope that will encourage her. 🐘🥰
She must feel bewildered. One day she's with her herd, next thing she's in a snare abandoned and now she's at a strange place with people being nice to her. That's a lot to take in.
I would LOVE to do the work you are doing! Amazing elephant babies. My one early memory is my dad taking us to the circus. Thank god they shut them down here in the US. I remember going back in the area where they kept the elephants. Amazing loving creatures. Thank you for saving these beautiful animals. It's always amazed me how animals are able to trust and love again. There is a special place in heaven for all of you!
I will sleep well tonight knowing Fenya is doing much better. You can see she is weak, but like Khanyisa there is the will to live. It is good she is somewhat more trusting. However, while her wild streak remains I.e. Joshua; she still understood all are trying to help & she allowed her wounds to be cleaned. These animals are amazing, but all at Herd are even more so. God bless! Love for all at Herd & most especially towards Fenya & of course Khanyasi. These two young Ellie's have taught me much. Continued prayers for all! Hope to rise with even better news of Fenya. Good night Herd & again God bless!

What a brilliant way to start the day here in the UK, seeing Fenya with her carers, looking wobbly & weak but better than she was. What a long night for you all. Thank you for caring so much and working so hard for all of us. xxx
Such a relief after the down turn yesterday. I fully comprehend that Fenya has long journey ahead, however it seems that she has at least one foot on the road to recovery. The phenomenal dedication and care shown by HERD, is spellbinding. Dearest Fenya I send you much love xxx
I was so worried! It's so nice to read the update. Fenya is surrounded by such loving and caring people. Thank-you for your amazing work. Keep getting stronger beautiful Fenya. 💜🌹
She was after food though. First time she clearly was after the fruit/vegetable Joshua took from the trough. Second maybe she just wanted the milk bottle.
Beautiful Fenya's coming out parade! What a day! Seeing her on the first day none would have expected this. But for us who know the power of you all at HERD, we were full of hope! Thank you guys! Love has once again won!
Yay!!!! Great news!!!! What had happened? Much thanks to everyone there and the veterinarian for great job!!! Fenya looks weak. Possibly now that she is aware she is being fed and protected all that previous pent up stress is leaving her mind and body making her appear weak. I was thinking she was going to act out. Like you wrote at the end about all the trauma she went through. Also the grief. Oftentimes trauma and grief turns to anger like stress does. The survivors have stages to go through to heal inside and out. I am so glad she is with you to help Fenya through it! She has all the love and compassion she needs and wants as soon as she is ready to receive it.✝️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes, she does look weak and tired. She has a long road ahead of her. It's good to see her out in the air and sunshine, though. It will be good for her.
I don't think she was angry. First time she is clearly just interestd what Joshua had in his hand: he took a fruit/vegetable from the trough. Second time I think she is after the milk bottle.
It seems elephants have such a keen sense when something is being done to help them, they are so tuned in to our senses. Thank you Stavros and Joshua and Khensani and of course all of our beloved Adine for their care and love and of course without said HERD for giving Fenya another chance at living and being a free elephant! Love you all!🐘🥰🐑👍🏻
I find it intriguing the difference between a 4 month old (sweet Khanysa) rescue & a 2,5 yo rescue (Fenya). Fenya had so much more time & elle awareness & teaching from momma & family that her healthy knowledge of who/what to be wary of is strong. Seems logical for her to sceptically accept the goodness & love from this group of humans vs while so traumatized by those who brought harm to her & deprived her of mother & family. Delighted to see her out & about in the fresh air & garden. I am still reading comments to discover cause of her emergency transfusions overnight. Did Dr. Roger's sew together her right, torn ear? I know - 1st things 1st. Bless all for your efforts to love & heal all things great & small on planet Earth. I am tickled to watch her curiosity about Lammie.
@@joanraiford194 Yes! Not to mention she was alone for one to two months after be snared. And eventually having to be abandoned by her herd. We are anguished by the tragedy which befell her, but are so blessed by little Fenya's brave spirit!
@@kmick8108 From what I've learned from this site, Fenya is safer and has a much better chance of survival right where she is, with HERD. Learning to trust her Caregivers for lifegiving attention is critical to saving her life right now. But that same trust would most surely get her killed by the very evil poachers who so severely injured her and left her for dead in the wild. God bless HERD.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I've been praying and sending positive healing thoughts for Fenya! She hopefully had a little fun chasing Joshua. Sorry Joshua! Will continue to pray! 🙏❤🐘😍🙏❤🐘
It seemed like Fenya was going after the milk bottle that Joshua is holding (not chasing him). Poor little girl, she has been suffering a lot. Without the dedicated help from Adine and the team, she would’ve died for sure. Please give me a few weeks, my donation will be on its way soon
She is so obviously feeling much better, I hope her healing continues as well as it has so far. Bless you all for your love and care you give these elephants.
Well Joshua, you are holding the milk bottle, lol!!! You are all doing an amazing job with this baby, bless her heart, and she absolutely knows that you are all there to help her! It is sooo good to see her outside! The herd is probably going nuts to see her! Blessings and love and light to you all!!!

Thank God for Fenyas improvement! That was a scary thing for all concerned. It's good that you have such great staff and veterinarians. It was such a comfort knowing that Stavos and Adine were close by during the treatments. I'm sure that it was a comfort to Fenya as well! Thank you for keeping us posted. 💖
Oh My Gosh, Thank Heavens!💖💖 Such a scare to go through, for everyone! Day, by day! That's all we can hope for. Is that she gets stronger day by day. Thank you so much for the update. Fenya is a feisty, not-so-little girl who is expertly managed by the HERD team. What a relief to see to see her doing better. 🙏
Wow! Even though Fenya has not met her new herd family, they have already been supportive in her journey. Thank you Setombe for the blood donation. So happy Fenya is feeling better!

So sweet and special to see Adine and the amazing carers take everything head on! Fenya is in the best place and the best hands to heal her wounds! God bless you all!
Oh little Fenya. I knew you could do it sweet one. I'm so thankful to the carers and Adine at HERD for all your love and dedication to saving this precious little love. My respect and love to all of you there and to Setombe for giving his life saving blood. Thank you! I was on edge all night and couldn't sleep. Seeing this video I have to admit I cried seeing Fenya braving the outdoors. I'm sure Khanyisa didn't mind giving up her crib to her sister. And it's so good to see Fenya so rambunctious all things considering. And it was cute seeing Joshua trying to avoid Fenya's obvious temper. Perhaps that's a good sign with Fenya. Getting downright pissed off. That's it little one. Be brave and bold. Love you lots baby.
Thank goodness. Thankyou all of you. And so good to see her out in the fresh air. I have so much love for these animals. My heart could burst. Does she have unusually long legs..?
@@herdelephantorphanage I was pleased to see she still has spirit. She will learn to trust but it was good to see the chase. Asserting herself. Her carers are all so kind.
The chase scene is highly encouraging on so many levels, energy level, frame of mind, blood flowing, sunshine and fresh air in her lungs. Great job HERD team.
I am so happy to hear this. You can tell she is still not up to par. I noticed her having trouble using her trunk to feed herself. It may just be hard with her neck still all open. Joshua you are pretty quick on your feet. Thank you for all of your compassion for these beautiful intelligent animals. I have said it before you all have wings. ❤❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤❤
Look at her beautiful colourful banket! I have been wondering to myself when will she be getting her own blanket! You are all so amazing and caring! She'll feel comfortable with her own blanket over that aching body. Siestog moeder! A little disorientated but that should be expected. Aitsa! She's got it in for Joshua! Her new target! A little cheeky but stands her ground! So good to see her move quicker. Feel better soon Fenya! I would also be quick to run! THANK YOU! PS I've never had the opportunity to be near an elephant so watching HERD just brings me closer to these magnificent animals.

I hope our Lord Jesus in His love, mercy and compassion helps you in your tough times. Jesus can lift any burden, no matter how heavy and relieve you of suffering. May God be with you.
That smart strong girl well remembers when being outside meant she was ensnared and suffered horribly. It takes tincture of time to crowd out the old painful memories with the new safe loving ones. When I was younger and we had many kinds of farm animals including horse stables I also took on several rescued horses and mammoth donkeys, each of them abused and neglected. The struggles were real and it would be many months of creative problem solving for us to help them recover (horrible hooves were particularly challenging along with behavior resulting from total lack of hoof care) , but eventually they all became healthy and good citizens on our farm and for new adopting families. You have my love, understanding, and respect for what you are all doing. It is a team sport for sure. I noticed that when Adine was first bonding with Fenya, in one scene we would see Adine in the stall and then instantly as Fenya approached Adine would appear on the other side of the stall walls. Oh I well remember taking those flying leaps to remain safe while working with my big needy animals who were large and lacking in social skills. I think there should be an olympic sport for quickly retreating from large animals! I also had to deal with low glucose and fluid levels in my animals, one trick to quickly raise the glucose level enough so the animal has the strength to stand or even drink is to take corn syrup (karo syrup here in the US) and wipe it all over the animal’s lips and mouth as much as possible. That works quickly to get sugar into the animal while the transfusions, oral tubed fluids, and oral fluids have a chance to really treat the underlying nutritional problem. I learned that trick from an 85 yr old vet. It works well for weak babies of all kinds as well as the older animals and none of them objected to the taste.
I feel we are very privileged to share in Khanyisa 's & Fenya's unfolding stories. This channel is better than any fictional series or movie we've thunk up. Thank you foremost for the extremely important work HERD does, & secondarily for capturing your work on video & sharing it with us all. Humanity at its best right here.
Couldn't agree more. Filming & sharing with supporters is best approach I've ever encountered. Adine, God chose you especially for your loving heart & astute wisdom. Your human babies (now adults!) are so blessed to call you "Mother" & ditto for your elle children. And blessings, too, to your own mother who taught you to love in a big & rightful way.
You all give these poor traumatized calves a chance to heal psychologically as well as physically, so they can eventually function on their own. That the babies do so well, is a testament to your care, thank you so very much.
Her rainbow coat of many colours will keep her safe as Khanyisa's did for her. Great steps forward... even if she didn't like being approached from behind! She's come so far in such a short time especially as she was older when she arrived. Lovely to see she's got her elephant instincts working!
So happy and relieved to see our precious Fenya! I love her very much and am thrilled she has so many praying followers! Thank you everyone for your loving support. It is such a shame what this girl has already endured in her young life. Thank you HERD team for your compassionate care. I will send more "apple" money soon! Take great care of our baby! Love, Flo from Missouri.
I am so relieved that Fenya made it through the night and is feeling a bit better this morning. I wondered if she was chasing Joshua because she wanted more milk. He was carrying the bottle. She seems to love her milk. Could it be that she just wanted more? I sure know that most "bottle babies" will chase/follow you anywhere if you are carrying even an empty bottle. Obviously I have absolutely no experience with elephants. I am extrapolating from the various farm animals that I raise. I am probably out in left field somewhere, but Fenya was acting just like the two bottle baby calves I have right now.
Life is so fragile. Little Fenya gave us so much hope, running around but suddenly passed away and left hearts broken.. Wherever you are now, i still send u lots of love n kisses my baby Fenya

Wonderful news! Makes my day. She appeared weak at the beginning of the video. But, she ate and drank, then became feisty. Great sign of recovery, and developing trust. ❤️🐘🙏🥰
It can be a rollercoaster at times as y'all are always ready to handle every task with such love and devotion! The Lord offers rest for the weary so I pray for energy and wisdom for all that's ahead. So sweet and special to see Adine and the amazing carers take everything head on! Fenya is in the best place and the best hands to heal her wounds! God bless you all!
It is wonderful to see her out in the sunshine, gaining more energy and trust. Thank you for providing safety, love, and such good care.
Hey. . Fenya!
Am so so happy to see yu love!!
❤️❤️ And that blanket on yu😘
Bless yu and the caretakers ❤️
So happy Fenya's doing better. I was sooo worried about her.
I am grateful to see that Fenya made it through the night.
It will be a joyous day when we can see her with full, plump cheeks and being cheeky. 🙂❤🐘
INDEED ❣️👏
Praise this sweet baby girl. She is doing her best given the extent of her trauma. The humans of HERD are elephant angels. We salute you. 💜👼💜👼💜👼💜
What a beautiful sight, wee Fenya up and outside! with all her wonderful carers. Thank you so much, we are blessed 💚🐘💚
She may look a little disproportionate as she's not yet her ideal weight. 🙏 One step at a time and so relieved that she's eating.
@@herdelephantorphanage I was pleased to see she still has spirit. She will learn to trust but it was good to see the chase. Asserting herself. Her carers are all so kind.
I am praying for Fenya and all of her caregivers. May she continue to improve and live a happy, healthy life. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
The warm sun must feel so good on her skin!
God bless you guys, she is coming out of the anesthesis that takes time too. So glad to see her be in the sun, poor baby.
So much stress for little Fenya, a wild baby torn from her family. Praying for her.
I’ve been checking for any update from RUclips to Facebook. Now I’m relieved, even still long way to go for Fenya, she’s in good hand, everyone do their best to give a new lives. At last, I can go back to sleep now, what a emotional night for me.
Prayers and positive thoughts for your continuous rehabilitation sweet and beautiful Fenya! I love her and she looks wonderful in that colorful blanket!
So happy to see Fenyas spirit !! Interesting to see her crush her fruit with her foot before she eating it. Our prayers were answered.
I'm a wildlife carer from Australia and I want to thank you for everything you're doing for those beautiful elephants. Its a heartwrenching job especially when we lose them... but its still worth every second. Thanks again 💚
YAY, I'm So Happy!!! I'm Having A Very Tough Time Too, So Thank You, I Needed That Great News!! Thanks To All of You for Helping Her, She's A Lucky Gal !! 👍 💞 👍 💞 👍
I hope our Lord Jesus in His love, mercy and compassion helps you in your tough times. Jesus can lift any burden, no matter how heavy and relieve you of suffering. May God be with you.
I am so happy to see her getting so much better, you have all done a wonderful job.Thank you for all you do for these beautiful animals.
Wow you are so generously kind and knowledgeable about animals. it is so refreshing to read your compassion on your note.
It's great that she is getting better. Snaring elephants ir any animal is terribly cruel. You are doing a wonderful thing.
Sweet Sweet Fenya- well done darling girl. Love from Australia xXx
I love this baby, I'm so proud of her for being brave! A wonderful girl, Fenya is.
Thank you Adine and all the cares for updated us. She so good and a little energetic. Hope our 2nd princess will keep getting better. So happy❣💕
The world is so much better with this little ellie in it
I am so relieved that Fenya made it through the night and is feeling a bit better this morning.
This is great news , Fenya has a great team looking after her . ❤
welcome Fenya. Thank God.
Life is so fragile. Little Fenya gave us so much hope, running around but suddenly passed away and left hearts broken.. Wherever you are now, i still send u lots of love n kisses my baby Fenya
i was so worried about this baby,so glad to hear she's feeling better.
I was worried....so great to see her out and about(sorta). She looks better already. You all do an amazing job. THANK YOU ALL!😍😍😍😍
Great that she's still interested in food. She's wobbly-needed but would I be. High, high hopes for this sweet, tough girl! 🐘💓🤞🏼💓🤞🏼💓🤞🏼
We are pulling for you Fenya! Of course she is going to chase the guy with the bottle. So very happy she is feeling better.

I am grateful she is fighting for her life while she is healing and adapting. Bless her and all who care for her and the HERD.
Thank you so much for sharing this happy news..i was constantly praying. Thank you everyone .
This is the best news! Thank you and hoping and praying for more good news. That means transfusion fit her blood type and didn’t get rejected- this is amazing that you could do it- Adine and the team and Dr. Rogers are the BEST! I can not even imagine how complicated and difficult was this procedure- WOW!
I don't even know where to start... My heart💜 is so relieved to see her in the sunligh🌞 this morning! It brings tears to my eyes! With great gratitude and appreciation for all of you that are taking care of her!
I hope she pulls through! Get well soon Fenya!
