    This is a great review, mellow, calm yet informative, bought one about 2 months ago, really becoming intimate with her. Put in a bone saddle and lowered the action a bit with that and a TusqXL nut. Added some ebony bridge pins and changed the strings from the 13's this one came with to 12's as I wanted to break her in easy. Love the Martin LifeSpans 2.0, they help the guitar to sing. Thank you for sharing.
    See you do baseball cards and knives, haven't messed with the cards since a kid, but I love and collect Buck knives.

    10, 11, 12, denotes the finish on these models and not the wood like other martin guitars. 10 is all satin, 11 is gloss top, sating back and sides, 12 is all gloss finish. I think 13 is a binding adjustment but I’m not an expert just what I learnt from watching D10e reviews so far.

      Yea I think 12 has a black binding, 13 has a white binding.

    From a dull boy, good video. Just bought the D-10e in all Sapele. A little milder in the high tones. Beautiful guitar and true Martin sound and quality. The action was a little proud. I performed some under saddle sanding and it’s a dream to play now. I love the satin finished neck, so fast!

      For what how I play the action is good. I might try to lower it a little in the future. I am used to playing a guitar I had to put a little more pressure on so I tend to press to hard and cause buzzing at times, so when I get to used to lighter touch I will probably lower it a little then.

    Do you still have it? If so, did it open up nicely as all solid wood guitars do?

    Not being rude just thought I’d correct ya a little lol but the 10 in D-10e doesn’t refer to the woods it’s the all satin finish model the D-11e is gloss top satin back&sides the D-12e is all gloss with black inlay trim and the D-13e is all gloss with the traditional white inlay trim the road series comes in 3 body shapes the D series the triple 000 and the GPC all have a built in tuner inside the bottom rim of the sound hole and pickup adjustments in the upper part all come with a Fishman MX-T pick up most models have the standard c grip kneck with satin finish but there’s also more options you can get if you order straight from Martin but secondary places are limited ..all have a spruce top with standard internal bracing but they offer the back and sides in Rose wood and mahogany with a richlite finger board👍🏻

    Nice relaxed review. Got one of these myself. Always hankered after a Martin but never thought I could afford one. Certainly not a solid wood one. I absolutely love mine more each day I play it. Also got a Taylor GS Mini which is my lap guitar when I want to noodle but the Martin's my new favourite until GAS strikes again at least.

      I love it, I have little Martin but I never considered it a real Martin though it is not bad for a travel guitar. I have been playing a Fender T-Bucket for the last 10 years, I still grab it for comfort because the neck fits my hand so well and I have the action set perfect for me. The Martin has a much more rich sound and I am starting to get comfortable with it.

      Hey! I also own a gs mini. I love that guitar! Incredible what a punch it brings out of such a small package!

    I have one and it sounds better every day. I've owned a D18 and this D10e sounds just about as good. It's almost Amish in it's simple quality and craftmanship.

      Now that I have had mine a few months I like it even more than when I got it. As I got more comfortable with it plays so easy and the tone just keeps getting richer.

    Martin makes the absolute best guitars I’ve played for 15 years 100% self taught but one thing I have learned is martins “Strings” 😑 Rip those strings off man and put some Elixirs on it I promise it will make a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE put some Elixir 80/20’s in whatever size you like e.light,light mediums heavy don’t matter and the difference in the volume and tone is crazy the heavier you go with the strings the more volume your gonna get as well but coated strings are the way to go period won’t ever rust or feel rough and they last 4ever… good luck bud

    I am trying to find out why I do not like the sound of this guitar . The sound is very thin how can I say that?

    • @Emoralis
      @Emoralis 6 месяцев назад

      Solid wood guitars take 1-3 years minimum to open up. Proper humidity and fresh strings also help

      2 years has passed and changed many strings with different gauge so I wait for one more year :) @@Emoralis
