kids should 100% do chores, it’s all life skills for them one day having their OWN place! If they didn’t do them they would move out and have no idea how to do anything.

I'm closer to your age Roland (I'm 32) and it's pretty normal to do chores to earn pocket money. If you live in the house, you help clean. You're teaching the kids life skills and I reckon that's so important ❤
yeh i’m 17 and always helped around the house! i’m moving out soon and if i didn’t do house tasks then i wouldn’t know what i’m doing around my flat.

My son has to take of his bedding on sundays since he was 3…. Learns them life skills. Now he is 7 and he knows how to do the dishwasher, laundry and some cooking. He earns batteries for his many sound making toys by helping us. Not helping is no batteries… and no annoying sounds😅
I help my Mum & Dad by such as: The barbecue, Clean the outside table, Clean the upstairs bathroom, I setup the knife & forks and mats on the table, I put out different condiments on the table for dinner, I clear out stuff on the table when everybody else is finished with dinner, I go out shopping on my own to get Mum & Dad some stuff and this is part of my life skills as well to do this on my own, I clear out stuff in the dishwasher when it is all cleaned and done with as well and yeah that is my own routine stuff that I do at home everyday now

Yesss definitely get the kids to help you out with chores! Kids get lazy otherwise, plus its a good way to prepare them for the future, as they'll need to know these life skills. They're not going to learn this anywhere else, if you don't teach them to do chores, they'll be clueless about it when they're older. Dont listen to people who say don't get them to clean up. They are old enough to help out and definitely good for them in the long run, you're doing a great job Roland as a dad!
