What a fantastic interview.....the peace he didn't understand was God......he promises a peace that surpasses all understanding. This interview was so respectful, great journalism and a wonderful guest.

As I had a similar experience in an Aircraft, the feeling of peace is a result of the recognition that at that moment you are totally helpless and have no control over the situation. I was fortunate to survive, but I will always remember that feeling-
Always get that feeling sitting in the dentist chair.
Him relieving that experience literally takes his breath away. You can see how he feels like he’s back there. Knowing the fear and the unknown. Remembering how desperate he felt and he truly knows how they must be feeling. 😢😢
One of the only people on earth with even a vague idea of what they may be going through. And yet he was on a much better sub, with much more experienced submariners and a second sub for backup.

His story is wild! 1 of the craziest stories ive ever heard, absaloutly amazing and can you imagine the appreciation of being alive everyday since

I was a 17 year-old Vietnamese Boatpeople, on the journey into freedom in November 1980 and we, 71 people on board in a tiny boat, the size of 2 vans joint together, spent 4 days and 5 nights in the stormy ocean. After this experience, I have committed myself I will never put myself and my family on any ferry ships for a holiday. I've been there done that and NEVER AGAIN. The ocean is the beast that always wants to swallow you. God bless the Titanic and the recent Titan 5 that carried 5 souls. RIP to them.

CEO is not an expert and he should have listened to his experts. He fired one of his top people who questioned him about safety issues. So this CEO actually fired a top associate because he thought there were too many safety issues with the Titan.

He seems to have had respect for the site and the people who died there. Perhaps this is why a miracle was granted to him and the other passangers that day.

No. He is someone who experienced something similar and handled it. To the point that he wrote a book about it. Which may have been why he was NOT traumatized. But this is definitely not what a traumatized person looks like.

Just listening to his interview presents a wake-up call. Living through a situation such as that does give one a deeper sense of appreciation for the sanctity of life - just how precious it is.

What a very brave man Dr Michael is to relive his experience over and over for the last few days. I know from personal experience and having been close to death 10 years ago. It was not death that I feared, it was how I was going to die that I feared the most😔... My heart and prayers for the five men, down there and for their families... Please arch angle Michael, Gabrielle and all the angles in heaven surround them with your wings of protections and bring them back home safe and sound...
Praying these men are safely returned to their loved ones. Please Lord, help them.
Pray to the brave men and women who are working day and night to rescue them.

What an interesting and informative interview! This poor guy is still so emotionally affected by his horrible ordeal. The Styrofoam cup example was really eye-opening for me. Because he's been in the situation, he's given the best explanation of what's going on, imo. I can't even imagine getting into a little mini-van type thing and going to the bottom of the ocean. Just the thought of this is making me feel panicky. How terrified these five souls and their families must be!
The way he told the story just captivated me, hope they make it

They payed 250 000 dollars...their tickets to the other side. Poor choices. So tragic. It's sad to think about the 19 years old that is there. The whole life ahead him sweeped by this. As father, being there, maybe feeling guilty for bringing him to this trip. As son, being sorry for his dad and his own life. And the mother/wife losing the both. So sad. Horrible to think about their agony.
They likely had zero time to think. It was that fast. They don’t even know they died.
This man is so spiritual... Full of wisdom, scientific mind and respect for the known and unknown... In. My travels, in my mind as I breath, I always seek permission and forgiveness for my intrusion and thank the energy seen and unseen as I leave.!

What an experience. Watching Dr. Michael Guillen recall what happened and shudder at how scary it was then. So they could be stuck in the propeller, hope they check that area as a priority.

My heart goes out to this man, the pain he must be reliving seeing this tragedy unfold, he must be having some very powerful and traumatic memories and nightmares, he is right, this is NO JOKE, the ocean is a merciless beast which must always respect and never be careless or cocky about it. He was brought to the brink of death and what a terrifying experience, I cannot imagine, this is just unthinkable, I haven't stopped thinking about it and have felt sick wondering what these 5 people went thru and what this brave reporter went through, prayers for the lost souls of the Titanic, the 5 souls who recently were lost there and their loved ones, they must be frantic ❤

2 guys (father and Son) are from my country Pakistan 🇵🇰 and my father has met one of them. His name is Shahzada Dawood. He was my father's boss in 2008. My father said that he is a very good man with kind heart. 😢

How unregulated this stuff is, is insane. Should be illegal. This has to be the catalyst for change in this industry. This is the stuff of nightmares. Despite having stacks of wavers thrust in their faces with at least 7 different ways this vessel can kill you, they happily signed up. More money than sense. If they had to die, i truly hope its imploded and they didnt know or feel a thing. The other scenario (fully conscious as to what is happening to them) is incomprehensible 😥😥😥

It should not be illegal to take calculated risks with full voluntary consent. We should all be free to take the risks we choose to take. Freedom means the freedom to live your life (or risk your life) as you choose. However, it might be reasonable for governments to compile a list what types of risks it will not spend taxpayer money on in case something goes wrong. Privately-funded rescue efforts are fine, but when it comes to using taxpayer funds, it is reasonable to set limits as to what the government is going to do to rescue extreme risk-takers. A case can be made for the position that governments should not be spending millions of dollars trying to rescue these people. But, at the same time, a case can also be made for the position that 99% of all the taxes you pay is money that is wasted. My preference is reduce the size and scope of government tremendously, and allow free markets and voluntary charity (such as crowdfunding, for example) to solve most of our problems.
It's not illegal because it doesn't take money from big corporations and banks. If private keys or crypto were down there it would be regulated.

I think Michael wants to experience it again. It he is very detailed have a vivid explanation of his experience. I thought was there with him. I almost start crying
I can just imagine the feeling of knowing that most likely you will not make it and wait for help and nothing. The possibility of them being alive are low and rescuing them is not good. I’m sorry. My thoughts and prayers go to the families of those brave people.
This guy's situation was nothing compared to the current. You can tell his sub was well-designed, for example it actually had real wired controls. When your $250,000 experience involves a cheap gaming pad as your only control, that should be a giant red flag. Run away as fast as you can.

He was definitely in a far superior sub, one of the Russian MIRs and there are two of them
@@ws6206 The only subs I would dive in to see the wreck would be Alvin (first sub to dive to Titanic), Nautile (the former pilot is one of those onboard this sub, PH Nargeolet) and the Russian Mir's.
