      @@PJH13The government should penalise shareholders and CEOs, make them cough up what was not theirs to take in the first place. That should help raise some funds.
      Also government should take possession of majority shares at an appropriate point in the future with no compensation to shareholders for part taking in this criminal scheme and scam.

    • @PJH13
      @PJH13 4 месяца назад

      @@thecrimsondragon9744 This is a hugely dangerous idea that would make generations of UK citizens poorer. The UK being a safe place to invest, with respect for the rule of law is undoubtedly the most important reason that we are a wealthy nation. Taking shares in a business without compensating owners fairly would a) be illegal under international law b) make companies very reluctant to ever invest in the UK again and c) give license every country where a UK business owns assets to do the same. For example Thames Water is 1/3rd owned by the Canadian public employees retirement fund. Canada is one of our closest allies, how do you think they will react if we try to steal from their pensioners?

So far it looks like labour intend to change it all. Giving them powers to withhold bonuses and hold CEO s and the like legally responsible individually. I don't know if Labour intend to legislate so that the companies can't just add their fines to our bills but I think that they most definitely should

    All the water companies need to do is to make much deeper storm overflow chambers, it's the lack of storm overflow storage that causes the overflows and leaks. In a climate that is getting much wetter in the UK, it's a recipe for disaster if not done! 👍
