Love this song: showcases Roger's vocals, Pete's guitar, John's bass and, of course, Moon's drumming. Funny thing, I just had this cranked in my car earlier today.
Love listening to any version of this medley live with The Who's classic lineup, it's an amazing journey regardless of who you focus on. John's bass is my favorite part and you nailed it! Makes me want to try it...
John Entwistle is hands down the greatest Bass guitarist of all time he reinvented how the Bass was played you are by the closest I've ever heard to sounding and yes looking abit 😉 like the Ox! 😎🎸🔥🤘
what a lively sound, fun to watch and listen. fun because so much of the video footage out there has no shots of Entwistle's fingers or fret board, this shows the skill and brilliance of a man complimenting a circus of a stage show.
Thank you so much Sean! Yes exactly, live at leeds sadly has no live footage but thankfully has stereo recordings so you can try to isolate from the mix the bass guitar. Live footage of Tanglewood '70 helped me a lot to see his right hand
Thanks! Yes, I'm a little busy now, but soon I'll upload something. I'd like to play something from Young Vic like Love Ain't for Keeping, Too Much of anything, Water, Pure and Easy... and Roadrunner of course! As you can see there's a lot to do!
Thank you! It took me years to find the "twang" sound. I use a VT bass pedal, fresh new rotosound strings (almost a new set for each recording) and this maple neck Precision bass which is close to his Frankenstein bass. This is the easiest way to get John's sound... with an Hiwatt dr201 it would be a lot better!
@@coxbassman968 A new set for each recording ?! :o Seems like you'll get an empty wallet pretty soon ahah ! You make me wanna buy one of these basses and your pedal, sounds so amazing.
@@WhoTheFxCkAreYou haha yeah it's expensive.. but if you always want that sound this is the way :) I play bass everyday so I have to change them more frequently and when I change them I record a new bass cover! To give you an example, I recorded Summertime Blues with old Rotosound strings and it sound pretty bad to me. In this one I changed strings right before recording, and that's the result!
This guy is fantastic...I have goosebumps.
Thank you! 🙏
@@coxbassman968bro ur bass playing is so good man i crank ur vids on my amp to play guitar along to. thanks sm man🤣🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@cm8312 Thank you bro! Awesome!
I feel this is one of the most underrated songs

6:16 That deep sonorous note, versus Townsend’s guitar.
dude... you absolutely killed it. Love your finger style. Thank you for recording this.
Excellent..
Mate...You've got the Thunder Fingers technique to a tee ! The Ox would be proud !
Thank you! 🙏

No one should attenpt to cover Ox- but you- you should, great
Brilliant, absolutely Brilliant. The Ox would be smiling from above.

@@georgebetts5567 thank you!

i love your tones Ox' fender work was the inbetween point because Lifehouse/Whos next & Quadrophenia his style changed again.

The bass artistry of the part spanning 4:15 to 4:37 always gets me.
PS I believe that Bad Company stole the riff for Feel Like Makin’ Love.
Incroyablement talentueux!
The Ox!!!
Absolutely superb Riccardo. Great work👊🏻
Thank you!
You should be touring With Roger and Peter nowadays.
Man you are amazing, I keep watching your vids over and over
Thank you so much!
Sublime!!!
fantastic job
Excellent work
Nailed it
Superb
I may be wrong but I think John played the exact color bass at the Leeds show as you are here.
Just found this. Freakin’ amazing bass playing! New sub.
Thank you Jim!
Man great sound and playing! Keep at it haha
Reminds of John Entwhistle.
Another feather in your cap. Bravo 👏
Thanks!
It's interesting how John used so many different techniques with his right hand.
Very well done
Thanks!

Great job. You have the Ox sound down!
Bravo, bellissimo il basso e canti anche molto bene! Sei già in una band?
Great ! Fortune teller pls
Love this...any interest in sharing your track?
Thanks! Yes I was thinking to upload all the isolated bass tracks I played for free, only audio
Awesome cover man! Think you could do roadrunner from young Vic next?

New to pick playing here. What type/thickness of pick do you use? Nice to see the young guys ripping up the old ones. Well done!
Thank you! I use Herco picks or Dunlop Max Grip
Here I used Herco 0.75
the Ox bass ! Is it a made in mexico one you have or american ?
Made in Mexico
@@coxbassman968 would you recommend ?
@@oxfan9384 I bought it in 2015, sounds better than an American one. Yes I recommend it
@@coxbassman968 did you get it in that colour and with that neck because of the OX ?
@@oxfan9384 Yes, I'm an Ox fan too! I love his Frankenstein bass
