That bit about the "4 people in a state of 3 million" really hit the nail on the head. No minority group is too small for these ghouls to blame all the world's ills on. It's pathetic and infuriating.
The pushback I've seen is 'well it should be banned to prevent the problem happening', which is dumb too
Like, okay. If we're banning things for the sake of prevention, then I want christians banned from coaching high school sports teams. I guarantee you, nationally, there are more christian sports coaches arrested for child s*xual abuse than there are trans people who've won a sports scholarship
I had a similar conversation with a co-worker who tried try talk about Trans issues with me once out of no where. He was probably all fired up about something he saw on Fox News the night before. He is a 61 year old Conservative white guy but he is not a bad person. He is just mis-informed and has brain rot from the news. He started going off about his concern that maybe 1 of 10 trans persons just trying to get into the womens bathroom or something of that sort. I cut him off and said “I judge people by my own experience with said person or group.” At the time I knew there was a Trans Man we worked with. They put a lock in one of the mens restrooms for their ease of mind. So I told him “My only experience with a Trans person is our co-worker and it has been pleasant, They keep to themselves and the only accomodation they made for them isnt even in our building. Why would I feel any type of way about them?” He then informed me there is another Trans person in the company. I told him “You further proved my point I wasnt even aware of this persons existance”. He relunctantly agreed and moved on. I know not all situations are this easy to handle. People on both sides of this issue can be annoying and crazy. I have only spoke with my co-worker 4 times as I said they work in another building. I would not think twice about helping/speaking out for them in there was any injustice or persecution of them or any other human being. That being said my older co-worker and myself are not perfect, we all need to be empathetic and understanding, my world view has also grown everyone needs to be given that opportunity.
@@miguelitrosmats541that’s a great mindset to have, I hope your co worker becomes more understanding
The smaller the better tbh. With such a small community that many people are likely to have no contact with, it's easier to spread their lies, and easier for supporters to be insulated from knowing anyone personally affected by the hate and violence in a way that might peel them off.
Yes, it's disgusting. Trans people are a tiny, tiny minority with virtually no political power of their own. Without the support of cisgender people, they are virtually powerless against bigots and bigoted systems. And of course, they're causing no inherent harm by being trans.
I try to call out anti-trans bigots who conveniently switched from being homophobes after same-sex legal marriage became a national phenomenon and Western civilization didn't collapse. They're foul people who need groups to target with bigotry. One typically didn't hear a peep from them about trans people, when bigotry against gays and lesbians was more socially acceptable. But they quickly and vigorously accepted a new target in trans people, when the right wing offered them up.
They aren't just misguided people - they're foul people who are intent on being foul to certain groups of people. And it isn't necessarily the case that they're no longer homophobes - in fact, it's more likely that they just don't voice their homophobia in mixed company because it isn't socially acceptable in many circles. Look at misogyny - the overwhelming majority of Americans would say that they oppose it and they believe in equal rights for women and girls. Yet, misogyny is still a major problem in our society and blatant misogyny is still often expressed in like-minded social circles. People don't necessarily reveal their true thoughts, when they have reason to believe that they will get a lot of pushback. And as we've seen with Republican politicians, they were quiet about gays and lesbians until they determined that homophobes regained enough power to target gays and lesbians with legislation and case law. Don't make the mistake of thinking that they're only going to target trans people, or LGBTQ people. They're going to continue to target ethnic minorities (especially black people), women, etc. - whenever they think that they have the power to do so.
It's so surreal being a trans person. I wake up and do my normal routine and then look online and see that I'm the national fixation. Like fuck man I just wanna drink coffee and go to class
It's so hard to live, to do well in school and take care of my dogs, when there's this looming threat that it'll all be for nothing and I'll end up in a camp
You're living in the lime light. I can only dream of being so famous. But seriously I get it, at least a bit. I like girls, then I realize it's okay to like guys and suddenly people treat you as inferior. Like why? I was literally the same person as before? It's ridiculous. All power to you.
To me, I’m just tired of this trans discussion.
@@starmaker75 Imagine how tired we are. Lol
@@starmaker75 yknow who’s also tired of it? fucking trans people. if we could stop being the new political wedge issue and just be allowed to live our lives that would be great
Why don't we talk more about the fact that RUclips ran paid ads for "What is a woman?" during Pride Month? I was waiting for that to be a huge scandal but almost no one even mentioned it?
Because nobody actually cares about us trans people... People are tired of fighting for rights and acceptance of others, especially when the average life for people is less than adequate. Even if they do care they just don't have the energy to fight anymore.
RUclips is a right-wing platform, it always has been. I don’t think anyone expects better of them at this point.
@@sealogic4552 Ok but why would we just roll over?
I don’t give a shit about pride month anymore. Our Stonewall forebearers didn’t fight for us to wear jockstraps in public in front of children and if they did then f* them too!
@@sealogic4552
RUclips is apolitical and will follow the ideology of whoever pays them, if they get enough shit for supporting fascism, they'll drop them. Unfortunately, this apolitical systems benefits the far right a lot more.
Sometimes I take a step and think,
"Children. Children and doctors. That's who they decided to target."
These people are so evil.
It's not even the first time they've marked doctors for death. People look at me funny when I say there is exactly one sane reaction to the existence of fascists, and that is immediate, unflinching violence against them, but this is why. It is impossible to start a fight against a fascist as a non-fascist, because fascists start those fights as a matter of course. Their existence implies already existing violence. Any fight against them, no matter what that fight entails, is inherently defensive because they are always on the offense.
They attack whover has the least power. Never grew up from middle school.
@@liam3284 I've always described conservatism as what happens when someone fails at reality and believes life peaked in middle school. So that tracks, IMO.
Literally the same can be said about the Lgbt movement. Especially regarding children.

"The party that wants to stop governent overreach" making an entire law to affect the lives of 4 people
This is the message to hammer into rural families’ heads. “It does not matter your political leanings, it’s Big Government stripping away YOUR freedoms” Even in 2023 there are still people who are against LGBTQ, but aren’t MAGA fascists. They can still be reached, and it’s worth it to do so.

One thing that makes this all so hypocritical, is the entire subculture of child beauty contests that thrives in red states.
Can't they just end? I mean, can't they?
@@radschele1815 It ends when people in red states want to stop pimping out their kids. Anything fascists complain about is projection.
@@radschele1815 yes they can
(pumps shotgun)
That is the one I really fucking struggle to understand. I once had a (liberal?) coworker doing it with their child and then there was this lunchbreak, where they came together with other far right coworkers and they basically took turns saying "Child abuse bad". (prior to this the liberal coworker screamed at the far rights for not wearing masks) This was so surreal to watch, I really can not comprehend.
Yes, because child beauty pageants are only for god-fearing Republicans. They do not exist in blue states like California. Thankfully, California sets a great example, though it’s not always easy to observe because the population levitates so highly above the rest of us.
Your sheer exasperation at "how fucking debauched do you have to be to do that" is such a goddamn mood
thinking abt how in highschool my (trans) ex girlfriend's abusive father who had lost custody over her on account of being extremely neglectful attended her graduation, found out she had transitioned, and tried to sue the school district for "turning her gay". thanking god that happened before all this national trans hysteria so it was just a mildly funny event in our lives and not a fuckin news headline
There's nothing that gets under my skin more than this impossibly stupid idea that schools/media/"the cabal" or something can "turn kids gay/trans"
Fucking wild to me how much people care nowadays. Fuck when I came out as enby back in early 2019 people didn’t care nearly as much
@@cjboyo Oh in 2019 they 100% did care, this level of trans rhetoric has been a thing since about 2015 and has continually worsened.
@@cjboyo because the GOP hadn't yet decided to pour massive amounts of resources into painting "gender ideology" as the number one threat to mankind
@@cjboyo It's because if they couldn't manufacture a panic over something, no one would ever support a Republican for anything. And since it seems like most of the country somehow didn't even know trans people existed until 2015, they're the last real target left for this kind of garbage. They've lost every single culture war battle in the broader public so far, this one won't be any different. It's just minimizing damage to the vulnerable between now and then that's most important IMO.
One thing you didn't mention about the Masectomy numbers is the actual reason why minors get mastectomies. Only a very small number of minors get them because of transgenderism. Vast majority get them because of other medical issues like breast cancer, hypertrophy or gynecomastia.
Many of these mastectomies could actually be gender-affirming to boot. As a cis male with prominent breast tissue (not enough to call gynecomastia) I have always felt like less of a man (which has not helped my mental health) and I hope one day I can get a double mastectomy - partly to feel MORE like a man! And I'm sure I'm not alone, especially with those cis men out there who suffer from gynecomastia.
@@asmrsona3170 Yeah they fall under the category gynecomastia.
Don’t say “transgenderism”. It’s a right wing term that casts our existence as ideological
@@madeline7272 Yeah should rather said gender dysphoria. But to be fair, i wanted to state is spechally for Transgender issue, since there is a Cis Gender Dysphoria with issues like gynecomastia.
@@Toxicity1987Not really, that also casts being transgender as a malady. I would suggest saying "because they are trans" which is the most plain language version.
The trans community needs a legal fund, or the ACLU, to step in and start suing people for defamation when politicians start accusing random families of child abuse.

Remember when he tried to claim a non-binary identity to dodge a hate crime charge, conservatives parroted that like they always do when a new talking point comes out and fucking no one bought it? That was pretty amusing.
Conservatism will always be a dangerous mental disorder
It takes a high degree of magical or conspiratorial thinking to ever be a right winger in the first place. That kind of panicky, all over the place nonsense is just par for the course these days, one of the most reliable parts of their cartoon sideshow.
“We frankly don’t give a shit about what happened at Colorado Springs and we apologize if you’re too much of a piss baby brat to accept that.”

I’m a trans woman, I do Uber. I literally had someone talk to me about LGBTQ issues and go extra on the Trans cause companies that add it in to go woke get broke.
That was the first time I’ve ever heard online rhetoric in person & I was so surprised. Also she talked to me about trans issues as if I was just a cis woman. Imagine how awkward that is to have someone talk transphobic rhetoric to you, not know you’re trans & think you’re going to agree.
I told her along the lines of “I wouldn’t believe everything they show, cause they do like to pick the worst most toxic examples to represent a side. Most are just hard working Americans going about life a different way, which is actually more similar on the surface than it seems.”
She actually agreed and even said that was really insightful and we just had a nice conversation about Bill Burr before drop off.
The lesson is… online BS is starting to spill over into reality
I would've ended the ride with "oh yeah and I'm transgender :)" but I guess you run the risk of getting a negative review just because she was transphobic.

The other lesson is that the online bullshit falls apart the moment they have to think of it in real terms, and if you remain reasonably sympathetic, you can challenge their bullshit and shatter it.
There was a trans student in one of my Social Services classes in college. Her family continually gave her hell, including memory loss from a shovel to the head and trying to give her military grade cyanide. A cop handled the latter, got sick from it and lost her baby. I don't know what the legal repercussions were, if any. America's approach to those who aren't considered mainstream leaves a lot to be desired.
What the fuck. That is actually attempted murder.

@@TheAxeLord47911 You're preaching to the choir on that one.
Jesus Christ, these people are unhinged.
@@utubepunk To put it mildly.
JFC. 🤬
One thing that isn't really touched upon here is that trans discrimination is not just a wedge issue into broader anti LGBTQ discrimination, but also into the whole "parents rights" movement. Especially the don't say gay bills extended the ability for parents to police what children get to learn and do outside the home. The reason, that the trans issue is so existential to the republican right is that they cannot maintain any of their ideas politically long term, unless they can isolate children from a more open and tolerant society and indoctrinate them into a conservative world view.
Exactly. It's the same reason they're attacking public schools in general and trying to come up with ways to funnel public money into church sponsored private schools.
Ultimately, I think even that is doomed to fail. What the fascists really need is for greater society to reinforce their bigotry, as was the case in the past.
Greater society is beyond that point, I think.
The problem is that they think the exact same about you and me. They think if they don't protect their children, then the state will indoctrinate them. That's why highschool moms marsh alongside far-right confederates and vaxx deniers.
Hysterical fear, stirred up by demagogs all thinking they are right in their condemnation of others.
I really don't know how to break this wall in our conversation culture.
Why do you think it would be more appropriate to indoctrinate the children into a more leftist world view rather than a conservative world view?
@@superbarnie There is a difference between exposing children to a set of ideas and isolating them from every contrary idea.

It’s scary when you’re dealing with an enemy who doesn’t care about the truth. They can say there are millions of children, hundreds of thousands…or maybe it turns out to be fewer than 1,000 per year. It doesn’t matter. They will go to war over a handful of children like we see in Utah. It’s not about children or sexuality. It’s about everyone following the rules they think they’re supposed to follow.
They sure as hell picked the wrong country to try that in. People in America hate rules, and anyone who tries to impose them.

an aspect of this that remains scary is that fascist uprisings (even ones who achieve some kind of success) don't rely on majority support. fundamentally undemocratic political programs don't have to trifle with setbacks like overwhelming disagreement with their ideological basis
True. The good news is fascism doesn't have much staying power unless there's a fair amount of popular support (usually, unless you move to full on Adolf Hitler stuff) like in Vlad's Russia. Which there isn't. Anti Queer stuff is record unpopular, socialism is record popular, Christianity is record unpopular, abortion is record popular etc. I'm cautiously optimistic but that doesn't mean fascists won't keep trying this shit. We're at a very big turning point in our countrys history.
They never need majority support, but they do need massive support. There is no fascist uprising in America.

This year they've already introduced dozens in the first week of 2023, many looking to forcibly de-transition trans children and several states are trying to de-transition trans ADULTS and outlaw crossdressing. This is getting really scary, even if the anti trans stuff isn't popular with the majority
They're not going to stop, either. This was always the bargain that the money people made with the evangelical flock. I lived down south. I saw these people proselytize in their own back yards. Abortion was just a side issue, the main issue being the existence and acceptance of any and all LGBTQ people at all. That was always their main issue and they will not stop until it is legal to literally banish non cis-het people from civic and public life.
It's really bad when living in a place that has or is willing to pass legislation like that. I'm scared of going out because someone will attack me for just being in a place, I'm scared to go to the bathroom in public because someone might harass me for just tryna pee, i'm scared that my hormones will get cut off because enough states has passed legislation that the insurance companies start doing blanket bans. I've lost two jobs from being trans one that I can confirm and one that I have my suspicions about. I'm scared for my friends who are stuck in places that will force them to detransition. I'm scared for the little eggs in places like Florida that can't even explore the options anymore because of how much Republican Legislatures hate us. It's a terrifying time to be trans and gnc and live in the US. And it's not like a lot of us have the ability to uproot everything and move to a more accepting place, gods know I've looked into it and haven't found it feasible. I’m curious how that guy with even a modicum of human decency became a Republican governor, did his primary opponent die at the last minute or something
Lmao it is genuinely puzzling. There seems to be a fair few decent folks who quietly win elections beyond the media spotlight who aren’t total ogres, but they can’t be too vocal about or they risk being eaten alive by the base. I really do think these are the death throes of the Republican Party.
Nah. It's typical GOP bullshit man. He knew the veto was going to be overridden so he made a scene out of him nice he was knowing it wasn't going to matter. Like Ted Cruz voting for the sick days for rail workers last month knowing the bill wasn't actually going to pass "Look at me I supported you" he can say next election, without actually having done anything to piss off his actual base.
Honestly the anti-trans rhetoric gives me deja vu vibes from the early 2000's when the GOP constructed literal internment camps for Gay people in order to "Re-educate and convert Gay people to come back to the Church of Christianity, and to return to being normal." Republicans will accept literally any form of torture if it means they get to win elections, they even endorsed literal torture during W. How did no one pick up on this Matt was saying there are tones of double mastectomies done, joe asks him to clarify if hes talking about prepubescents? Matt replies yes. How can this be possible, how can prepubescents get this done, like how can a prepubescent person you know without going through a puberty have the things you get in puberty to remove?
This is why I love the advent of fact checkers on social media. It shows actual, verified facts rather than the meaningless bullshit conservatives spew constantly.
It's even more sinister than that. Listen closely to what each one is saying again. Rogan asks Walsh if this is happening to, "prepubescents," and the response is, "Yeah, minors". But those are not the same thing. While all prepubescents are minors, not all minors are prepubescents. Rogan completely fails to notice the rhetorical trick and lets Walsh get away with it.

Here's what always bothers me when people like Matt Walsh talk about kids getting double mastectomies. Kids don't have breasts. So that means the people he is talking about are not children and thus have more developed minds that can make their own descisions, even in their opinion. Because of course, Matt Walcsh sees the age of consent as a suggestion.
Exactly. For a guy who thinks adolescents is a social construct, that 16 year old can consent to marriage and pregnancy, why is it that a 16 year old can't consent to top surgery? it's ridiculous

Republicans in Utah have broken up the voting districts in the major city, Salt Lake, even after initiatives to have an independent entity redraw them. Proposals and promises happened, but in the end, Republican lawmakers did what they wanted, and took pieces of the city and fused them with suburbs and rural communities far away that they know can be relied upon to always vote conservative. Salt Lake is by no means a liberal place, but it's much more accepting than the rest of the state. It makes me sad to see my home broken up and helmed by people more hateful than I can bear. It only makes it feel worse when there are people like Cox, or Romney, are our only "compassionate" officials. If their passive nature can be described as such. Men who seem to be so committed to their religious ideals of compassion and love, but won't denounce those in their own party actively harming others.
The only way to fix that is to make the populous counties (most of the Wasatch Front and probably Washington County) single-county districts, bundling the rest of the state into the minimum number of contiguous, multi-county districts possible to ensure every district is a multi-seat district and then implementing some variety of proportional representation. Ensure Utah and Davis Counties return a Dem or two along with their dozens of Republicans and that Salt Lake County actually returns a majority of Democrats in line with how their voters vote. First-past-the-post voting fundamentally does not yield democratic results and letting the pols have any say at all into what their own districts look like lets them chose the voters instead of the voters choosing them. Prop 4 was a nice attempt, but I knew even as I voted for it that it wouldn't be enough to keep the Republicans from gerrymandering themselves into perpetual supermajorities.
SLC gave me the creeps... no art anywhere. Zoned along canton lines, clearly most of the city is under parochial control. On Google maps its stunning, seeing how carefully they controlled the zoning.

Thank you, Dan. They despise puberty blockers because they fear being "tricked". Our suffering is just a bonus.
Bush's presidency as well as attempting to bring back literal torture during the Trump era after it was outlawed by Obama which was a huge sticking point to them since it means they can't torture brown people anymore.
This, sadly, is so spot-on. They're TERRIFIED of finding someone outside their sphere attractive even just by accident, and they CRAVE vengeance and righteous suffering for those they "other"
They despise puberty blockers because GnRH agonists have permanent affects on the physiological development of children from bone growth, fertility, genital development, and neurological development to obesity and cartilage damage. Gender dysphoria is ultimately a form of social contagion like anorexia, so just like anorexia it should be cured through therapy to help the patient love their natural body instead of destroying their body to fit that warped self-image.
They are afraid of being tricked they say, but then in other arguments they claim they can "Always tell" and try to police people's gender presentation. Literally whatever is convieniant they say
This despite the fact that gonadotropin releasing hormone analogues have been used for years in cisgender children to treat precocious puberty, and in adults to treat endocrinological conditions like prostate / ovarian cancer, endometriosis, and infertility. I'll bet the real reason they're afraid of puberty blockers is that Ben Shapiro accidentally swallowed some 28 years ago, and they still haven't worn off.
I found the whole premise of Walsh's movie annoying. Any freshman college student who has taken philosophy for general education requires will tell you, there are lots of simple sounding questions which become irrevocably tangled when you actually think about them. This happens all the time in philosophy... and asking, "what is a woman?" Is posing a philosophical question.
You can just as easily elicit confused answers from people by asking, "what is a person?" Or "what is a color?" Or "How do you know if something is true?" People can turn themselves into pretzels answering these questions, particularly if you come prepared with pointed objections or counter examples. It is not hard to do. That doesn't mean these concepts are illegitimate, or even that they are irrational.
In the same way, Walsh's movie doesn't actually say _anything_ about the legitimacy of trans identity, much less legal human rights for trans youth. It's pandering, and pretending there is a fake crisis afflicting millions of teen girls.
Yep. I've found the 'what is a chair' dialectic a useful counter, despite Plato leading to some weird places re: 'ideal forms'.
I always answer that a woman is over 18 and that they should keep their grabby hands off of girls younger than that. I refuse to engage with them because they're not arguing in good faith. And besides, I'm going to shove the whole groomer thing back in their face as hard as possible.
The first answer should be "in which context, biologically, sociologically, legally, philosophically, linguistically?" and Walsh would be exposed as the idiotic poser he is as he cannot exist when subtlety and context are a thing. Just like Shapiro, Prager and all their ilk.

People clearly knew she was a woman that behaved differently.
How are trans issue supporting that, when instead of sticking with what was progressive in say, the 90's, (that you could be a very feminine man, or a very masculine woman and that's fine) , activists are saying that the proof that they are or aren't a man or a woman, is that they like things typicly associated with the other sex, and therefore should get treatment to change their body ?
Hardline dress codes were already ended before the last two decades in the west. But the rest of the world doesn't folow what you seem to say.
In iran, gay man are forced to transition.
In afghanistan, a very masculine woman is going to be forced to follow the same horrible rules as the other women (females). She's absolutely not going to be considered like a man or an adult male.
@@Kamfrenchie But that determining factor is again obviously not wholly sex because when you're trying to define sex as a 100% essentialist defining factor of gender you're either describing secondary sex characteristics like vagina and breasts which are wholly cosmetic and physical, or chromosomal alignments which are superfluous because they cannot be identified through practical means socially and have combinations that are atypical that still lead to male or female outcomes.
I can easily map this on to myself because if I was suddenly given a vagina and tits and chromosomes, I would still 100% consider myself a man.
"Joan of arc wasn't considered a man at all, for example."
Joan of arc was literally considered a devil worshiper because she had male leaning tendencies, refused to wear dresses and suffered several attempts at being sexually assaulted.
So again this is relevant because as I said previously in the past what was considered feminine was incredibly hard lined.
If you were a woman who presented with gender expressive traits that were considered "masculine" you weren't considered a "man" BECAUSE gender expression was latched onto sex.
We simply do not live in that age anymore where gender expression is as demonized, but to your point.
She was demonized, this is one facet of gender liberation, women not being called devils for showing male leaning traits.
"activists are saying that the proof that they are or aren't a man or a woman, is that they like things typicly associated with the other sex, and therefore should get treatment to change their body ?"
I don't care what activists are saying I'M not saying that, what I'M saying is that gender is not 100% grafted on to sex through the basic deductive reasoning that socially we cannot see each others chromosomes and almost always map someone's gender at first meeting to their appearance.
Now if you check everyone's genitals when you meet them, I'd say you're very out there.
As for the trans issue as with cis people there is an underlying fact of the matter for why they suffer from gender dysphoria and in my opinion the best evidence for this are studies that show there is a leaning of a sort of brain mismatch with secondary sex characteristics.
" But the rest of the world doesn't folow what you seem to say.
In iran, gay man are forced to transition."
I mean yeah, because it's an authoritative theocracy, do you like Iran? you should try living there if you find those policies to your liking.
But I enjoy living in america where we are secular society that does not base a majority of our social laws on theology.
So I'd like to talk about america, after all there were a lot of countries who still practiced slavery for awhile, but I wouldn't exactly say they knew something we didn't would I?
I knew the day would come when my home state of Utah would get mentioned for it’s anti-trans positions. The LDS church has it’s tendrils in every establishment in the state and while they claim everyone deserves love and understanding the culture within the church is deeply entrenched in conservative politics and it’s a festering wound. There’s a constant battle happening here over identity politics but Republicans have all the power. I have no idea when it’s going to change.
The kind of love they offer is quite like a poison.
Their membership numbers are dropping like flies. Same with the JWs, really (though they're explicitly apolitical). It's only a matter of time before they collapse outright. I think what we're seeing is a last grasp for power as the world moves on without them.
Lmao, ah yes, I forgot all about the “Red Wave” that was supposed to be coming last year. Listening back to that clip, followed up by your lovely German accent saying “And what happened?… Republicans got fuckin’ trounced.” Made me genuinely belly laugh. All the anti-trans stuff is just so absurd that it puts off even people who aren’t very supportive of the trans community. There are plenty of working class people who most leftists would view as transphobic, and probably rightly so, because they’re very out of touch with the LGBTQIA+ community, they don’t understand trans issues, they don’t always use the right pronouns, and they think & say all sorts of problematic things, but despite all of that they have no desire whatsoever to see trans people legally oppressed, they see no reason to prevent trans people from transitioning, etc, because they are all too aware that the existence & acceptance of trans people has absolutely zero negative effects on their lives, and while that lack of personal effect on them means they have no desire to come out in strong support of trans people, it also means they have no desire to come out against trans people. At the end of the day, they don’t really care about trans people because they aren’t effected by trans issues, and no matter how hard Republicans try, they cannot force those people to care about those issues, and come out against them. Trans people are an extremely small portion of our society, they always have been, and they always will be, and as a group they are totally harmless. That is a shame insofar as it means there aren’t legions of people from every corner of society coming out in support of them, it also protects them to some extent because it makes it very hard for the right to rile people up against them. I live in hope that, as a result of how poorly this bigoted nonsense plays with the majority of society, it will soon lead to the separation of the coalition of the money people & the evangelical whack jobs that has made up the Republican Party since the late 1970s, and that the Republican Party will take the side of the money people over the evangelicals. Evangelicals are a small minority within our society, and they have entirely too much political power. They are the one group of people who actually need to be disenfranchised because they hold way more power than they should based on the percentage of the population they account for.
Idk why Matt Walsh thinks he knows more than actual doctors and well.... intelligent people...
It’s the “I have an iPhone and therefore I’m educated” idea.

One solid hour of moral clarity.
The USA has passed seven of the 10 Stages of Genocide as described by by Genocide Watch founding president Gregory Standton with regards to their treatment of trans people
1. Classification: People are divided into "them and us".
2. Symbolization: When combined with hatred, symbols may be forced upon unwilling members of pariah groups
3. Discrimination: Law or cultural power excludes groups from full civil rights: segregation or apartheid laws, denial of voting rights
4. Dehumanization: One group denies the humanity of the other group. Members of it are equated with animals, vermin, insects, or diseases.
5. Organization: Genocide is always organized... Special army units or militias are often trained and armed.
6. Polarization: Hate groups broadcast polarizing propaganda.
7. Preparation: Mass killing is planned. Victims are identified and separated because of their ethnic, religious or gender identity, or sexual orientation.
When you have politicians making secret lists of trans people, you should be very afraid. From here, the next steps are as follows
8. Persecution: Expropriation, forced displacement, ghettos, concentration camps.
9. Extermination: It is 'extermination' to the killers because they do not believe their victims to be fully human.
10. Denial. The perpetrators deny that they committed any crimes.

maybe illness isn't quite the right word, "condition" fits much better
let me ask you this, would you treat an anorexic with diet pills?
if the answer is no, why would you treat a trans person with cosmetic surgery?
Entrenching a delusion isn't treatment, it's religion.
@@jodo2785
Let me put it this way for you…
Someone acts like a woman all the time yet they were born in a male body…What would be your solution to that especially if that person lives in a conservative environment ?
@@jasonbrody5270 That's called gender dysphoria, a subsection of body dysmorphia
Treatment would depend on further analysis because dysphoria can often be a symptom of other conditions like PTSD or various anxiety disorders.
Group therapy and individual counseling would be standard practice . . . horomones can be given if there is an underlying horomone imbalance . . . antidepressants are often used as well
I can gurantee you that elective HRT and cosmetic surgeries are NOT effective treatments, because they yield no positive clinical effects whatsoever. Rates of depression and suicide are (thus far) completely unchanged by those practices.
Other disorders involve "acting a certain way" . . . yet their treatments don't involve encouraging those acts. Anorexics are not encouraged to lose weight, despite thinking and acting like someone who is obese.
For every other mental condition in existence, self determination doesn't trump reality.
Personally I believe "acting like a woman" is just "acting like yourself" . . . gender is inherently indeterminate, it constantly changes in both the general and individual sense. Therefore, it is useless for personal identification.
Gender is something we should get rid of, rather than expand upon it like some kind of irrational cult.
M . . . F . . I. Male, female, intersex. Those terms should have no effect on who you are as a person . . . only WHAT you are as a person. Because human biology is concrete fact, and nothing else.
It's crazy that there are people out there that are so deranged about trans people that they don't even stop before sending in a bomb threat to a fucking CHILDRENS HOSPITAL. Like... I would have started questioning my morals and line of thinking way before that point...

Great to see you on RUclips again, I've been waiting for a new video! Minor language note: English doesn't have a true system of genders like in other languages, with it mostly being the pronouns. That said, "he" is for male people, "she" is for female people. But "it" uniquely doesn't refer to people, but to objects.
The default gender neutral pronoun is "they" as legally from before Shakespeare, it has been used to refer to persons unknown but specified.
Shakespeare and the Bible use the singular they. Anyone who claims the singular they is ungrammatical has no idea what they're (see, did it again!) talking about.

If it’s any consolation, I think we’re seeing the death throes of the Republican Party. They’ve deviated so far from their old moderate-right, veiled-bigotry platform that it’s gonna be almost impossible for them to attract independents and even moderates in their own party in the future. Their current base is fairly old and comes from a background of media isolation, so I don’t know how much of a future they have.

This kind of reminds me of the situation in Poland post-WW1. The right wingers were also so sure of absolute victory in Presidential elections they were totally stunned that the center-left candidate (Gabriel Narutowicz) won. They stirred up mass hysteria that the election was "stolen" by "foreigners" (the Polish minorities, esp. Jews, who overwhelmingly voted for Narutowicz) and in the end, days after taking office, a crazed right-winger painter shot the newly appointed President, which became a step in Poland's descent into authoritarianism later down the line. You can see the similarities, right? Confidence in victory, disappointment, bigoted scapegoating, hysteria -> death and violence. Same pattern of right-wing (anti)politics happening for a 100 years and more, across the world.

@@ChristianF15cher sobriety, monogamy, and 'family oriented' have had completely different social implications in the past, the definition you probably know them by today would be unrecognizable back then. Only one thing objectively exists, the universe. Every other word and concept we use is an invention to make describing small pieces of the universe easier.
