The real legend is he is still wheel N dealing, chipping as he goes. I think it's a chip chip here, chip chip there everywhere a chip chip. Good job guy, great deal, great video. Ya got my vote, Keep chipping.
A warning: I just bought the big brother to this unit with the 11.5 engine, brand new. Right below your feed chute you can see the big blue bearing. Pay attention to the C-clip on the end of it. Mine flew off after 4-5 uses (I didn't notice at the time) so the whole cutter assembly shifted "inwards" and the machine started to self-destruct. Major mess. So, keep your eye on the c-clip. Repair parts are on the way.... hope to have better success soon.
That's a great deal for that chipper. I have the 11.5 and it works the nuts. The shoot does clog if I chip too many green things. Easy start due to the clutch. Only problem Ive had was the muffler broke at the mount.
This is an old video but I hope you either got the carb tuned right or you got the clutch unstuck or whatever because the chain shouldn't move at idle.
You got a good deal on the Chipper. I don't want to get in your business but you really need to pat a air filter on. Your chips are going out front the same direction your carb is facing. Dust does come out of the chute.I had one I bought from Lowes for several years. Sold it this year. I liked it but they are labor intensive. .
@@ARuralVermonterQqjmcb182 - I came to the comment section to "kick" you because of the lack of an air filter. LOL :-) You made a good deal with that machine, It seems to work just fine. But honestly get and air filter. Even an old sock would be better than having it run wide open. A chip/debris stuffed into the engine will kill it for good. ;-) Note to self: Don´t forget to adjust the carb after adding some air filtration. Good luck. Cheers
I just purchased a the DR11.5 chipper. I was wondering if you could show some videos on such things as clearing a clog, tensioning the belt and removing and sharpening the chipper knife. I’m not too mechanically inclined. Thanks
It's poorly designed where the idler pulley mounts to the chipping flywheel. The set screws are the only thing securing the pulley to the flywheel shaft. There's too much torque on the flywheel when it's chipping. To expect set screws only to hold the pulley in place isn't logical. If you pull the belt guard off, you'll see where the clutch pulley is secured much better. The clutch is held in place by a bolt and oversized washer. Your best bet, I feel is to put a lock collar right next to the idler pulley and tighten the set screws good. Use lock tight on the set screws.
As far as the muffler guard, I smiled. Mine is the same way. The way this is designed, the vibration from the machine stresses the mounting strap which bolts on underneath the fuel tank. Thanks guys at DR. The newer model has been modified so, the guard might withstand the vibration. No idea if they changed how the idler is secured to the flywheel. The machine in this video is exactly like my machine. I'm not dropping another penny in this machine. I'm going to get a Jansen 1500 GTS.
Young man, you only get one pair of eyes in life so please invest in some safety glasses or at the very least wear sunglasses until you get your safety glasses. As you already know you need to get that air cleaner on there ASAP......yeah it's that important. Other than the lack of an air filter you seem to have gotten yourself a pretty nice wood chipper/shredder!
James: I just bought one of these and can say with certainty the small ones aren't "self feed". Only the bigger ones (trailer style) have a decide to draw in the branches. These residential ones are more properly called "gravity feed"
Yeah, the air filter is optional if you’re just demonstrating. It puts out less dust in demonstration mode.
Legend has it he's still chipping to this day
lol
Probably not still chipping because the engine wore out due to all the sawdust it ingested. Unless he stopped using it and put an air cleaner on it.

If the blade's ain't sharp it won't cut right if your blade's are Sharp it will sell feed you don't have to force timber in to cut
Only you can get me excited about a wood chipper!
Sweet deal for you! Great video. On bigger stock, I’d just use them for firewood.
Hes probably still out there working on that same pile.
lol
It was a bunch
@@TruckTaxiMoveIt see that? he finally finished.

Tighten that chain on the Homelite!
No air filter!? Your killing me man your killing me. Then you said you need to tighten the chain but then you dont tighten the chain😆
I don't think he's still chipping as the chips are being sucked right into the carburetor. At least he's mechanically inclined, but wow, no filter?
Stick the rhicker end in first....that way it will pull the branches in.
What happened to your gas tank filler cap? Looks totally melted or something! Thanks for this video. I am looking for something like this

I definitely need an air filter... especially since I had to clean the carb when I got it I wouldnt want to clean it again

My bad. Jansen GTS 1500e.
Lol that looks like it’ll take a year to chip!

i definitely would but I actually sold the chipper after i finished the pile

Jansen GTS 1500 e
If you made enough of them you could use as bedding for animals
Yeah true
at this rate the pile will be chipped next year
Adjust the idle a bit, on the chainsaw.
He's still chipping that pile.

Look at all that dust, going right into the carburetor and into the cylinder...
Ahhh I can see that the Dr "self feed action" works well
Yeah doesn't work great on this one
qqjmcb 182 needs new knives
James: I just bought one of these and can say with certainty the small ones aren't "self feed". Only the bigger ones (trailer style) have a decide to draw in the branches. These residential ones are more properly called "gravity feed"
Bc the knives need sharpening
Is it still running well?
Mint as but I reckon a bit expensive!!
A lot of this wood I'd burn...
How long did it last without an air filter?
Put an air filter on it a couple days later and is still running
Seeks like that will take forever and a day
wot does dr stand for dreadful
Motor slow blades are dull
It should have yanked some stuff by its self
Its running very low rpm. Probably needs card adjustment
Painfully slow....invest in a 11kw quarter the time with this Micky mouse thing
Hey I need this type of machine kindly send me the details how to buy
Google it
Amazon great curcle woodchipper 420 delivered
a match is so much easier makes for a nice evening of drinking beer and roasting hotdogs.... way less noisy too.
i think he is full if chip
He just started it's just a piece of Chip
hate briggs and stratton - just got a "Tazz"
your chain is looose
It would take you five minutes to chip that pile with a bigger one
Not at the rate of $200
Could have went to a rental center rented a chipper and had that pile done in under 2 hours and not even paid $200
Why would anyone make something that slow. What a waste.
Bro get a real chipper
You mean like a $40,000 chipper that you have to find parking space for, what do you call a real chipper?
Let's go chipping ! 🤗
