    the size difference is not a rip off, or a scam... the actual space is 10,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx bytes, mathematically correct, the issue comes from when its 1024bytes to a kb, and 1024kb to a mb and so on... there is and will always be a discrepancy. some drive manufactures are starting to sell drives at their actual capacity of this discrepant size but it just looks weird on the box as its less and a random number which psychologically is off-putting.
