You can do this battery change by leaving the rack all connected, with power on to the processor! There is no need to take this all apart and then have to reload your program! This is the technique that Rockwell outlines in their tech help section.
Difficult to do it when components are installed right adjacent to processor. I had a CPU installed similar to this one but even tighter so the CPU had to be removed to replace the battery.
Thanks for posting! Very helpful. Can you recommend a good place to purchase back up batteries? And also how is this done on plc without loosing programming? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Wow good clip. May i know how long does it take for the compactlogix to turn on? Currently im searching the fastest way to turn on the compactlogix.. tq.
Hi....from Spain.... I have a question. I have same PLC....but the red led (on BAT) is active. Is This cause that I can not find Ethernet Module in RS Linx? It`s my first time with this PLC....In Europe using more SIEMENS
HEY I WANT ASK U ABOUT THAT PRB . THE HMI DISPLAY THAT MESSAGE ( no replay from PLC ) AND ALL SITTING ON HMI WITH EXCLAMATION MARK DO U IDEA WHT PRB. BATTERY MAYBE ?
Yeah sorry, just noticed we had different PLCs, apparently certain PLCs like the 1769-L24ER-QB1B don't use batteries because they have their own internal energy source. Thank you though!
how do you create an ip address and go online with a micrologix 1100 or 1400 using a data switch. or how do you communicate with a micrologix plc and go online using the Ethernet port.(please use RSlogix 500 , RS Linx)
Might be worth mentioning to power off before removing CPU card. Good content.

Great video most helpful. I had a brain fart and this helped. Thank you

Hi , thank you for your video
Is it safe if you change the battery with power off, because that usually erase program ?
I would take a back up and save all the network configuration just in case it is lost.
Thank you 🙏

Yeah but how do you know if the battery life is even low on a CompactLogix?
