This podcast channel always hints at Pro BJP stuff for some reason. Like the deficit of china is the highest at this point and somehow many people coming to the podcast while attacking china attack congress lol.
What a joke this interview is! Srikanth, a professor at one of the top universities in India and one of the country’s most recognized China experts, makes such deplorable statements. It's utterly disappointing. It is crucial to grasp the dynamics of China. Otherwise, we risk repeating the mistakes of the late 1950s and early 1960s, when so-called “China experts” in India misunderstood the country, leading to a complete intelligence failure. Unfortunately, the situation has not improved much. Srikanth Kondapalli, the renowned China expert from JNU wrongly claims that China made excessive noise about their Mars and moon exploration. This is far from the truth. China has made substantial strides in space exploration, including developing their own space station, Tiangong-one of only two space stations globally, alongside the U.S.-led International Space Station. In contrast, India does not yet have a space station program. China’s space investments have surged dramatically from C$3 billion in 2022 to C$19.5 billion in 2023. In 2024, China planned to launch approximately 100 space missions, compared to India’s 30. Mocking China without understanding its capabilities is unwise. While China is the second-largest polluter globally, it is also the second-most populous nation. Meanwhile, the U.S., with only a quarter of China or India’s population, is the largest polluter, yet it receives far less criticism. Srikanth also falsely claimed that Chinese workers routinely work 18-hour days. While this may occur in isolated cases, it does not reflect the broader reality. I am in regular contact with my Chinese friends, many of whom are company owners and major businessmen, and they confirm that this is not accurate. We must ensure that the truth prevails and conduct well-informed, thorough research on China. Another Indian China scholar produces videos on China, but many of them are rife with linguistic and grammatical errors. In the name of ultra-nationalism, we must not lose sight of the true narrative. Srikanth mentioned that China’s per capita GDP is USD 12,300, while Indians with a per capita income of less than USD 3,500 can supposedly buy more goods, including automobiles. This claim doesn’t align with reality. Prices in China are not exorbitantly high, and I have personally observed affluence in rural areas of the country. What a disgrace! The user keeps deleting my comment. That is the level of these podcasts and professors. Disgraceful.
