Liked and subscribed so you can buy an actual running vehicle! Although, I like watching vids on non-running vehicles to see the process of troubleshooting! Thanks for the vids!
Neat trick with the secondary chain tensioner bolts. Massive time saver. I hope they hold, looked like you had 10 threads or so to grab the head, which I would think is enough. Also well done replacing the gallery gaskets. Did you ever find the remnants of the plastic guide in the sump?
@drdiabeetus3061 Thanks! I'm also confident those bolts will hold. I did not find the remaining plastic in the sump. However, the car was at the dealership before I took it on, and I can tell they had the sump off for diagnosis. So, I'm guessing they discarded the plastics remnants then.
Splendid work 👏 job well done awesome video man! How many hours did it take to finish this job you did? Last question how much was the cost for all the parts and fluids you got to do the job.?
@RicardoB.Alvarez-yz8ru Thanks, man. I really do appreciate these comments. It keeps me motivated to continue making videos 😀. If I had to guess, I would say I had about 30 hours into the job. The timing chain and gaskets were around $350, and the fluids were about $250. Stay tuned this Saturday for the driving video. She rips!
@James0u812 I agree. Metal guides wouldn't work. However, they could at least make the plastic ones better quality. Like you never hear about timing chain problems on a Toyota, lol
@trapps75 Self-taught, mainly. I've been working on cars since I was 16, and I'm 29 now. I'm also professionally trained as a mechanical engineer. So, I find that helps with system understanding and problem solving.

@@kellyngrey4950 Much appreciated. I can assure you this won't be the last non-running vehicle on the channel!

Is it someone's birthday soon?
How did you know?
Lucky guess 😉
How much money can a manufacturer really save by making the guides out of plastic instead of metal?
@@rrnonya5472 Right! I feel bad for the people who don't have the know-how to fix cars and have to essentially write them off because of a $20 part.
Because it wouldn’t work.

Self taught fixing cars or schooling
