@@calvin-dg1dx As far as country music I have been to see Brad Paisley and Keith Urban and thought they were amazing and best of the best….till I watched some Roy Clark videos lol. Mind you they are all amazing, I just thought the newer generation invented great guitar playing😉
@@peterl2017 I was raised up on watching Hee Haw, I like Country/Blue Grass & the 70’s- 90’s Rock, I’ve been to a lot of country & rock concerts, I’m 63yr’s old now and when I hit my early teens I had a friend who worked at a ticket house and she would give me tickets to every concert from here in Arkansas-Branson Mo. to Nashville Tn. so you can imagine how many concerts I’ve been too with some really good seats, We never was Boy/Girl friend just good friendship that liked good music, No Hard Rock or Rap.
Uhhh, no. Hell no. Not even close. The best guitarist that I've seen and heard in my 60+ years would easily be Glen Campbell. And his superb playing was recognized by the trade in the early '60s when he was made an integral part of The Wrecking Crew. Across all genres its far and away Glen Campbell. May he RIP.
Roy Clark IS the best stringed instrument player of all time. Having said that, Jim Stafford is really good too. This was far from the best I've seen from him, even on RUclips.
Just in case you didn't see them,Roy and Glenn Campbell playing together, two guys picking and grinning, don't remember but think it was Ghost Riders in the Sky, two of the best!
The funny thing about those synth guitars was you had to pick them really really clean, no vibrato, no string bends, no hammers and pull offs .... Most Rock guitars couldn't really play them very well because they were used to the help of an amp distortion and sustain and relied more on the other techniques while the the Country and Jazz pickers were used to playing cleaner and picking every note.
In the early 90s there was a midi adapter you could add on to your guitar and get all kind of crazy sounds. It was finicky and had to pick precisely to get it to work. I don't remember who made it but remember experimenting with it in a guitar store.
To be honest, I found and saw the humor as pre-teen in Pittsburgh PA watching Hee Haw rather dull, and had yet established a basis for critical music evaluation. Gosh, what I had missed in that regard was devastating.
Buck Owens was my second cousin, My Mother was his first cousin and he held me when I was just a baby and my mother told me when I got older that he told her that I was going to be a good man good man when I grew up and he was right because my mother and daddy raised me up right, Be polite/Respect the elders/ stay out of trouble and work hard & learn everything I can & help people when they need help & they would treat me like I treated them, and I was the only son in our family of 3 boys and 1 girl that people would look up to and depend on growing up, So I recon that my parents raised me up right
@@rickd-guitar I hope you succeed like I did, I raised my Son & Daughter up the way I was raised, I’m not bragging because their mine but they both Graduated High School with honors and they are very good Respectful adults now, I’m very proud of them
Jim Stafford's always been funny as hell.
I saw Roy 2 times in the 70s..at Starlight in KC...70s..miss you Aunt Melba..
Roy Clark arguably the best guitar player ever.

Steve Clark was the best
Maybe Steve Vai
Roy definitely mastered diverse instruments.
So there's your argument!

This was a great show! I didn't realize you had good memories of this!
Loved Hee Haw!

What an incredible guitarist Roy was.
What a great entertainer and musician. Keep it up Roy.🎉
This fit right in with Jim Stafford's personna and the songs he wrote and performed, he is a first class nut!
I wish people that claim some R & R guitarist are the best would watch videos of Roy at his finest. He could send smoke from a guitar.
Yes sir he was especially the banjo, Man he could make that thing talk

Definitely smoke from this acoustic.

Now you're talking. I knew I'd find Glen Campbell in the comments. Awesome talent.
Roy Clark was amazing but Jim Stanford has creative talent and great humor to go with his soring abilities
Roy Clark has to be the best of the best, but don't take anything away from Jim Stafford. He is an amazing guitarist too!
Roy Clark by far the best guitar player of his Era and maybe of all time ! May you R.I.P. Roy
rot was playing a banjo part,on a Guitar..very impressive 😊😊😊😊

ROY CLARK THE BEST
Les Paul through a $100 Peavy Bandit! And he sounds like a Million Bucks!
Wish I sounded that good!
Great
An early Roland brand synth guitar .
Cool thanks!

I'm sure I would enjoy this if there were sound. There's no sound
Sorry about that. Not sure what is going on if your getting no sound.
Keep practicing and you may become almost as good as Roy. 🤣
Maybe in my dreams.
