The Splake/Slake is a cross breeding/hybrid of a male brook trout an a female lake trout. Scientific names are Salvelinus Fontinalis/Salvelinus Namaycush. Great looking Fish.

Not on this particular body of water Jay. It is always important to check the general and lake-specific regulations when fishing designated stream trout waters, as the regulations tend to be quite different than non-designated lakes and streams.
James used the noodle rod when fishing jigs only. It worked well. When he was fishing spoons he switched to a Quick Tip which has more backbone and a faster tip to handle the weight of the heavier baits.

No, I think the plan is to skip Winnipeg this winter. The guys have gone there the last couple seasons and want to mix it up a bit.
