As a former rural mail carrier, I know that we all drove around with our cans of Raid to handle the bees, but wouldn't even stop if we saw the bees before we got there. Our postmaster was good. He always said that the people who encouraged bees to their mailbox could make a trip to the post office to pick up their mail.

I have native plants all over my yard with tons of bees. I work outside all the time. I've never been stung once.

It smothers the natural organisms in the soil and breaks down into a mess after a couple of seasons. Might as well throw it straight in the trash.

Thanks for that info!! I'm always on the lookout for plants that DON'T attract bees and birds.

I need a printout to get the botanical names of the plants. They just gave the common name which can be different in every area.

People give Bees a bad rap, they hardly ever sting unless you deserve it.

Last thing i want when going to the mailbox is hitting bees. Mandevilla and potato vines both attract bees...

The poor mail carriers. What is wrong with people who do this? What about carriers that are allergic to bees? C’mon people! Do better!!!

one big problem...if you want mail delivered...never plant anything around mail box as it attracts all kinds of bugs spiders..don't to mention vehicle delivering the mail cannot run up on curb to reach it.....so if you want mail and if you going to complain about not getting mail think about how you would feel opening a box with spiders every bug that love plant food..terrible advice DIY
