This has gotta be the best cover of the song. Incredible improvisation while still staying true to both Iommi’s composition and tone. You killed it mate!
May I offer friendly criticism in the form of sarcasm? I hope your strings were at least 18. Seriously tho....It's not nessesary to wail on your strings as hard as possible. That was painful to watch.. If you observe sabbath playing live it's actually Geezer who's beating the hell outta his bass whilst Iomi gracefully strums and picks. His heavy tone comes mostly from his using light gauge strings together with his prosthetic fingertips. Its Butler and Ward beating the hell outta their instruments. Seriously, ease up a bit.
Dude, I was thinking the same thing. Consider that im only 22 and been playing for about 10 years and already have wrist and finger pain. Toni himself played 8's! chords will sound better bc you wont be pushing down so hard and making all the notes go sharp
It's never good enough, is it? A great cover where people are only unanimous about how fucking good it is simply has to attract nitpicky 'elite' guitarists who point out the slighest crap.
@@Schizosepsis Yes, but. telling someone that whatever they're doing is amazing, when clearly it isn't, is disingenuous. It may be difficult for some people to understand that constructive criticism is friendly and comes from a good place. All I was really saying to this fellow was to ease up a bit. Easy on the strings. Don't be so heavy handed. Relax and allow your muscle memory to do all the work. Trying to help someone is friendly. Handing someone a trophy when they didn't actually win is cruel. Haven't you ever watched American Idol? Lol that show was FULL of people who's friends or family's never told them that they were not great. In fact, they did the opposite. Hence, them standing on national television making a fool of themselves.
Thats a great cover and hes playing a SG, You just can't copy Sabbath with any other guitar. You need that beefy sound. But get this fact(Tony uses Banjo strings on his guitar and down tunes it big time) It is called ,"The accident that created heavy metal". just google that and theresa a video.
this is sabbaths best song they ever made, without a doubt. The ending alone gives me chills more than any other sabbath song
No the best one is Vol4 Wheels of confusion. Bar none!!!!
@@paulkline5271 this and wheels of confusion are masterful. The way Vol 4 begins, and ends is magical

I play Fender R&R skinny bottom heavy top. C# is perfect for the Sabbath sound and style using 8's.

'Friendly' and 'painful to watch' go really well together too don't they?
