      It doesn't take a genius to deduce that the man is filming a video. And that he's most likely taking the short cut through the store. Half the time he has the camera pointed at himself. So yes, he was still unusually nervous.

    Great vid! Love a good apartment complex tour, there’s so much variety. The fenced in complex’s make it feel super safe hey, in mine there’s literally no way in without the face recognition software and guards, waimai has to call up first via the video screen by the door. And no traffic in the complex means it’s perfect for children. Yours looks pretty big and peaceful

    This place was amazing when me and my other half stopped there from August 14th 2017 till 18th September 2017 Was on 23rd floor Known as Panda Family Style Apartment above the mail collection.. Cost me back then CNY 2.970..Walk around the complex every evening very relaxing and HOT lol ..When we was there we never once saw the gates shut LOL Just a key Card to get in bottom entrance to Apartment ..Busses and Taxis on hand any time it seemed..Wal-Mart just around the corner (My first ever Wal-Mart) and a Dicos but i believe that's now gone ..Always somewhere to visit each day by bus Taxi or hire a driver..Seemed very cheap to travel about..Believe it was 1 Yuan for bus ride then.. ..Still wish to this day i had never come back home ..What a downer after a fantastic time there in Chengdu..Thank you for the amazing video and bringing the memories back..

    pretty informative on apartment complex. There are realtors or go-between agencies where you can get info on available houses. They post the interior photos of various empty houses on Chinese app 58同城 for you to find. If you can find the ones posted by private owners instead of the agencies, you can save the service fee by directly contacting the owner. The one-time service fee is usually priced at half of the monthly rent.

    Thanks for a very interesting video! A lot of similarities to the complex I lived in on the corner of Renmin rd North and 2nd Xiaojia alley, but it had a smaller park area and the swimming pool had no water all year and really run down. But I agree, the foyer area was really spooky even in the day: polished stone, high ceilings, dimly lit and tons of unused, rusting mailboxes.

    In the Republic Of China Taiwan 🇹🇼 most apartment complex’s also have those security guards they’re called 管理員 “guan li yuan” and there job responsibilities consist of sleeping, smoking , watching TV , calling the maintenance people if any needs repair , they’ll call you when you have a package in the mail etc etc

    I've been living in Beijing for 3 years and just about every home I have seen throughout China has been an apartment, even in rural areas. There have been a few times I have seen Western-style houses like in Dalian, Tianjin, as well as some other places and I always find it strange, even eerie to see houses in China because I'm so used to seeing apartments all the time.

    • @ilovecoffee7623
      @ilovecoffee7623 5 лет назад

      Wtf is a ''western style houses''? There is an American style housing, and then there's a European one. In Japan, over 70% of people live in single family homes and detached houses. Those who live in apartments live in multi-unit dwellings, which range from 2 to 4 floors. They don't have these giant apartment blocs in Japan even though the population density in Japan is higher than in China. Houses in Japan are similar to Europe, the only difference being is that, the space between the houses is smaller and the front yard is smaller, often there is no yard at all. The difference between housing in China and Japan in my opinion comes down to ownership. In Japan, housing is completely private with the exception of very few incredibly ugly apartment units called ''danchi'' which are cheap units built in the past for poor people. The rest are all private, and that's why they are maintained very well. One issue with Japan is that, unlike in Europe and US, Japan during the post-war reconstruction lacked any form of regulations in housing, no zoning or anything like that, As a result, housing tends to be chaotic in Japan. In China, housing is state-owned. People can own their apartments, but the buildings are owned by the State or Province, that's why they are poorly maintained. Apartments are built by the province or state firms and that's why they build these giant blocks because they are cheap and easy to build. There isn't a lot of diversity in housing in China, the housing is done for the same class of people, in Japan it's more diverse. There are small houses, big houses, rich neighborhoods, poor neighborhoods etc.

    • @mhmoran85
      @mhmoran85 5 лет назад

      @@ilovecoffee7623 I meant western-style house as an umbrella term. (US, Canada, Europe) Yes, I'm very aware of the state-ownership of apartment buildings in China and that you have to be filthy rich to own an actual house or villa in China.

    • @jzeng2022
      @jzeng2022 5 лет назад +1

      @@ilovecoffee7623 You seem to know nothing about China. Housing does not belong to the government, but the land belongs to the government. Depending on the income situation, there are many types of housing in China, with villas and multi-storey apartments, but more people can only afford high-rise apartments. In the city, due to the high price of land, high-rise apartments are generally built, and many villas and multi-storey apartments are generally built in the suburbs. The repair and maintenance of the house is the responsibility of the family and the government is not responsible for management.

But I gotta say you're really representing the USA - I've heard of Chinese as being a bit brash/rude but the way you're charging around with a camera talking at a decent volume, I can't tell if that's China's influence on an American or just a stereotypical American.
