The Thai Constellation Monstera was on my wish list for about a year and I finally bought one from ETSY. The seller was top rated and answered a few questions that I had. Mine was just 2.5" and had 2 tiny leaves!!! It was expensive but I couldn't afford to put out big $$$. I got a new leaf in 6 weeks. I love my tiny baby! Yours are just BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thank you so much!! I have to say, even though I have two, I love my smaller one the most. That one I bought for myself and have watched it grow-each leaf is like a reward. The big one I was just so lucky to win and it was already big-so I can't take much credit for it like with the small one :)
I generally water every week in the summer and every 2 weeks in the winter. A good rule of thumb is that when the top several inches of soil dries out. A quick draining soil also helps prevent it from retaining too much water and suffocating the roots. Ultimately, I've had the plant for so long that I can pick it up and tell by weight if it needs water :)
Really informative video. I just got a seeding so I have a ways to go before I get to that size. So what is the name of the systemic granules you use? I live in MD to and can't find one that ships to MD.
Bonide Systemic granules! I know for a fact that Dutch Plant Farm in Frederick, Maryland has them, because someone I know recently grabbed a jug there. I got my jug across the state lines in Virginia a few years ago, and it has lasted me forever.
@@ByBrittanyG Okay. I tried to get that one on Amazon but they wouldn't ship to MD.Thank for the heads up though. I will probably trek over to VA to get it since its nit restricted there. I am about to begin moving my plants back in for the fall and want to use it to minimize the critters that may hitch a ride lol.
Thanks for the great information! I just bought my first Thai Constellation (wishlist plant for 3 years!) and of course I'm so excited! 😊 The growing medium the nursery has it in isn't ideal to me, but how soon did you have yours before you repotted it into a chunkier medium? It's very cold currently here in Wisconsin so I'll probably wait a while. Just don't want to shock her! Thanks.
Very cold here in Maryland, too-I'd let it adjust to your conditions at the house and then when things start warming up there, early spring, I'd repot to something you like better. Good luck!!

When do you know when to water your thai?

@@The_Planted_Eye_1 Good luck!! I just got all mine back inside. It's nerve-wracking.

Thanks for the information! I found the backing track to be distracting, maybe something more mellow would be better? Ty
Noted! I'm newer to video, thanks for being kind
I love the MTC but it is just way to much money for me.
I hear you! Hoping they come down in price now that they are becoming more popular. I was so fortunate to win my big one.
@@ByBrittanyG Nice lucky you.
